A Quick Card

I found out on Friday that one of the mums I regularly chat to on the school run has been really quite poorly recently. I wanted to make her a little card with our best wishes but I didn't have a lot of time to do it in before I had to head back to school for pick-up time.

So I grabbed a Stampin' Up! stamp set and my Pan Pastels, and this was the result:

I looove Pan Pastels. They are so easy to use and to blend and you can easily cover a panel with a smooth coat of colour in literally seconds.

So I just blended Pan Pastels onto a card panel and then stamped the flowers and bird branch from the Silhouette Sentiments set over it in black ink and added a greeting (from a Kanban sentiment set).

I also stamped a few of the flowers onto the envelope so that it coordinated with the card. :)

Super quick, super easy but really pretty.

Get well soon, Grandma

My grandma is in hospital at the moment. She had an operation on Wednesday for what turned out to be a femoral hernia. The operation went well but because of her somewhat frail general health (she is 85!), she needed ICU care following the op. We were going to go visit her today but apparently she is still intubated and sedated... and children under 16 aren't allowed in ICU at all. They were planning to start reducing her sedation yesterday and look at extubating her.

So we're going to wait a bit and go and see her in a couple of days... so in the meantime I thought I would send a get well card, for her to see when she wakes up, and put a photo of baby Mia inside (she's not met her latest great-grandaughter yet).

So I'll be popping this in the post today:

Hopefully this will cheer her up a bit when she wakes up. :)
