Boo!

This week for Variations Week at the Sweet Pea Stamps blog, the DT are playing with Teresa Sherman's fabulous Halloweenies images. I just love these creepy cute characters! :)

I chose to work with Mummy:

I coloured the image with my Promarkers and cut it out:

I decided to keep my card fairly clean and simple and used my Cameo to cut some halloween-themed images from black card, sizing them to the same size as my main image. I arranged the images in a grid formation, attaching the coloured digi stamp with foam pads to make it pop, and finished up with a spooky sentiment, also cut with my Cameo:

You can find Teresa Sherman's Halloweenies (and her other fab stamps) in both red rubber and digi format at the Sweet Pea Stamps store.

Brrrr... is it cold in here?

Well here we are in October and the prospect of winter begins to loom before us...

So to warm you up a bit, here's a cute little creation for this week's Winter Wonderland challenge at One Stitch at a Time:

This week I've used Beary Dust's Hot Chocolate image. I'm rather envious of this cuddly little bear... I could just do with soaking in a bath of lovely warm hot chocolate right about now. :D I coloured the image with my Promarkers and added a few white gel pen highlights before fussy cutting it out:

I decorated my card with some pretty christmas-themed papers in warm red and cool aqua and cut a pretty snowflake frame with my Cameo over which to layer my cut-out image:

I layered the frame and my image (attached with foam pads) over a piece of pretty white lace and finsihed things off with some flowers and some dotted flourishes done with a 3D liner pen.

You can enter any kind of project you like into the challenge, as long as it meets the challenge theme, and entries using a Stitchy Bear product will be eligible to win our main prize. Entries not using a Stitchy Bear product will be entered into the draw to win a $3 gift voucher for the Stitchy Bear digi outlet.

Sparkle and Shine

Today sees a new challenge at the Sweet Pea Stampers challenge blog and our theme this week is Sparkle and Shine. So I kind of went to town with the glitter and sparkle on my card... :)

I used one of the new digi stamps by Valarie Wade.. this one is called Planting Seeds:

Isn't she just adorable? I coloured her in with my Promarkers and then used my favourite Spellbinders die to cut her out. And then, in keeping with the theme, I added some lovely sparkle and shimmer to her wings with some Stickles, and a few touches of Stickles in the flowers in her hair too.

I used a 6x6 white card blank and turned it on its side to use it as a tentfold card and added a piece of fabulously glittery cardstock. I topped this with a panel of white cardstock, the bottom section of which I had embossed with a Stampin' Up! border embossing folder. Across the bottom of this panel I added a length of Tim Holtz rose ribbon which I had first dipped randomly into some Spun Sugar Distress Stain.

To finish off, I mounted my cut-out image onto the card front using foam pads and added a little dotted border around the centre panel using Waterfall Stickles.

Lots of lovely sparkle and shine on this card... now let's see what you can do! :) You've got two weeks to enter the challenge - just make a project that fits our challenge theme, post it to your blog and link up your entry at the Sweet Pea Stampers blog. You don't need to use a Sweet Pea Stamps image to enter, though obviously we love to see your Sweet Pea Stamps creations. There will be a randomly-drawn prize winner and also a further prize for the Design Team's favourite creation (which will be voted on by the DT from the entries using Sweet Pea Stamps images).

Love Is In The Air...

The challenge theme at One Stitch at a Time this week is Use a Digi and I've been working with Floppy Latte Design's cute little Elmer the Lovestruck Elephant digi stamp:

Isn't he adorable? :) I coloured him with my Promarkers and used a white gel pen for highlights.

I cut him out using one of my favourite dies and sponged some Distress Ink around the edges before removing the die. I covered my card with pretty patterned paper and an old doily that I'd previously used as a mask for misting, so it had turned a lovely soft blue colour.

I finished things off with some ribbon and a little cluster of flowers.

You can enter any kind of project into the challenge, as long as it meets the challenge theme, and entries using a Stitchy Bear product will be eligible to win our main prize. Entries not using a Stitchy Bear product will be entered into the draw to win a $3 gift voucher for the Stitchy Bear digi outlet.

Pumpkin Pixie

This week I've been creating with one of the new digi stamps from one of my favourite Sweet Pea Stamps artists - Ching Chou Kuik.

For this card I've used the Pumpkin Pixie digi stamp. I love the halloween theme to this image... and the cute little cats! :) I coloured the image with my Promarkers in warm shades of orange and green and added a little shading around the figure using Prismacolor pencils:

I also added a touch of Spiced Marmalade Distress Stickles to the accents in her hair:

I came across this fabulous bat frame in the Silhouette store recently and thought it was just perfect for this card. I cut it out from black cardstock and teamed it with some luscious autumn-coloured papers from the new Autumn Song collection from Bo Bunny.

To finish I added some layered flowers and dotted some flourishes using black Enamel Accents.

This stamp is available in red rubber or digi format from the Sweet Pea Stamps store.

Amazing Autumn

I do love this time of year. I don't know if it's because I was born in the autumn but there's something about the crisp blue autumn skies and the weather starting to turn, that is somehow invigorating. And the colours of autumn are just beautiful....

So I have thoroughly enjoyed making my project for this week's Autumn theme at One Stitch at a Time:

I was working with a beautiful set of Butterflies digi stamps by Sentimental Susan and I coloured them with my Promarkers in autumnal colours before carefully cutting them out:

I used a DL card and some absolutely gorgeous paper from Bo Bunny's new Autumn Song collection and added some autumn foliage cut with a Memory Box die that I bought recently. I printed a sentiment on my computer and cut it out using a decorative oval die, inking the edges before attaching.

To finish I added my coloured butterflies, attaching some with foam pads for a touch of dimension.

As ever, you don't need to use a Stitchy Bear product to enter the challenge (though obviously we'd love to see your Stitchy Bear creations :D) but if you do you'll be entered into the random draw to win our main prize this week. Non-Stitchy Bear entries will have a chance to win a $3 gift voucher to the Stitchy Bear store.

Sisters

This week at Sweet Pea Stamps we are focusing on the beautiful artwork of Joanne Schempp. I love her fabulous fantasy images and for my creation this week I chose to work with the Sisters digi stamp.

I just love this image of two mermaid sisters sitting together... it reminds me a little of my sister and I, one with curly hair and one with straight. :)

I colour the image using my Promarkers in pretty shades of pink and orange with some touches of blue for contrast. I cut it out using a decorative oval die before filling in the background with my Prismacolor pencils:

I also added some delicate "bubbles" to the background using a pearl-coloured Perlen Pen:

I layered the die-cut image over a die-cut scalloped oval with paper-pierced edging and teamed it with pretty blue paper which I had run through a cloud patterned embossing folder:

I layered pink dotty rubbon across the card before attaching the layered image using foam pads and finished things off with lots of pretty flowers and a few pearl gemstones:

You can find this and Joanne's other gorgeous stamps in both red rubber and digi format at the Sweet Pea Stamps store.

Get Your Rock On....

The new challenge at One Stitch at a Time this week is Anything Goes and this week I've been working with this funky "Rock On" image by Pookie Designs...

Isn't he fabulous? :D

I coloured him with my Promarkers and cut him out...

...and I had the idea of having him stand astride the sentiment for the card.... and what else could the sentiment be but "Rock On"?!! :D It's an awesome sentiment that sums up a whole lot in just two words. It's also fab for those notoriously difficult male/teenage cards. :)Divas by Design

So I had a search of the Silhouette online store and found this great layered Rock On word art and I cut it on with my Cameo using white card and silver mirri card.

Right from the start I knew I had *the* perfect paper to go with this image and I chose this sheet from the DCWV Rockstar stack. I attached the sentiment and the image using foam pads. layering them together so that my little rock star stood astride the sentiment, and I finished things off, appropriately, with a scattering of little wooden stars which I coloured silver using a metallic marker. :)

If you enter the OSAAT challenge using a Stitchy Bear image, you'll be in with a chance to win our main prize. You can still enter without a Stitchy Bear image and you'll be entered into a draw to win a $3 gift certificate for the Stitchy Bear Digi Outlet. :)

Be Happy

I have been doing an awful lot of colouring of digi stamps lately... largely due to the weather taking a turn for the chilly! I've been putting the gas fire on in the lounge in the evenings and it gets so nice and cosy in there that I find I hard to drag myself away into the craft room!

So I sit and colour digi stamps in the cosy lounge... but don't seem to actually get into the craft room to turn them into cards! But no more! Nope, I have forced myself to take my stash of coloured digis into the craft room and actually *make* something! And here it is:

I made this card for the Peach and Blue themed challenge at Passion for Promarkers, hence the colour scheme. I used a cute Dilly Beans digi stamp (as a mum of two girls, I love this cute little pair) and I plucked up my courage and made myself cut into my Graphic45 papers (why do these companies  keep making paper collections that are so pretty you just want to stroke them instead of using them?!). I also added some die-cuts from a K&Co pack that I've had lying around for ages (again, just too pretty to use!).

The digi is coloured with Promarkers with a few white gel pen highlights and I blended a little Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink around the edges of the image and then inked the edges of the image and the papers with Broken China Distress Ink.

I've gone old school with the photo cos it's really late and I really should be getting to bed so I couldn't be faffed getting the lightbox out. So it's a poorly-lit desktop shot I'm afraid. I'll try and replacce it with a properly-lit shot tomorrow. :)

Black and White

The new challenge at One Stitch At a Time this week is to use a digi stamp.

For my card, I used this lovely heart-shaped image, part of a set called Vintage Valentine Set by Gingerloft Digi Stamps.

I kept my card really simple, using the digi image as the focal point. I kept the card all in white and used embossing to add texture and interest, adding my digi image on foam tape.

Wouldn't this be lovely for a valentine's card? Or a wedding card?

You can enter the OSAAT challenge using any digi you like, though obviously we'd love to see you use a Stitchy Bear image. Entries using a Stitchy Bear image will be entered into a draw to win a prize from our fabulous sponsor this week, Crimson Cloud. Entries not using a Stitchy Bear image will be entered into a draw to win a $3 gift voucher for the Stitchy Bear store. :)

Clean and Simple

I made this card for this week's "Use a Digi" challenge at One Stitch At A Time...

I coloured in the image (a pretty Stitchy Stamps digi stamp called Lady Bug) and trimmed it and laid it against a blank white card.... and then I played around with all sorts of pretty patterned papers and stuff but I just kept coming back to how nice it looked just against the plain white background.

So I decided to go Clean and Simple with this card and just added a flourish and a small sentiment stamped directly onto the card base with the image layered over it on foam pads. I think it really shows off the image.

This week's OSAAT challenge is sponsored by Joanna Sheen and you can be in with a chance to win a prize from Joanna if you enter the challenge using a Stitchy Bear image. Or if you enter without using a Stitchy Bear image, you will be in with a chance of winning a $3 gift voucher for the Stitchy Bear store. :)
