twenty-seven.

I can't believe I turned the big 2-7 this year! That is OLD!! Kinda makes me want to cry! But I'm getting used to the fact that I'm slowly and surely getting closer to the dirty thirty. Eeek!

My birthday, or should I say birthweek, was so much fun this year! It started out a few days before my b-day when my very best friends took me out to dinner to Trio and then to Red Mango. It was so much fun - we really could have stayed at Red Mango chatting (well actually yelling!) all night long! Especially once we got on the topic of Vampire Diaries and Revenge! Thanks friends, I dont know what Id do without you guys!

The morning of my birthday I woke up like normal, got ready for work and went downstairs to a million balloons and a huge sign with little messages and designs in each letter! It was so cute. Al did good! :)

I had a fun day at work with signs all over my cubicle, lunch with my fam and a gift from my boss!

After work I met Al at Fashion Place for shopping and CPK.
After dinner we had to go set up for Oh Sweet Sadie and I ran into my BFF Brina! I havent seen her in months so it was fun to catch up! And then we ended the night watching my favorite movie, New Years Eve!

It was such a fun day - thanks for all your texts, calls, Facebook messages, etc!

The next night all the Daybreak girls got together for Red Mango! We all live so close but don't see each other nearly enough so I loved getting together - I really do live in the best neighborhood in the world and am so grateful for all the friends Ive met!
The last party was Sunday dinner at my parents for Al and my birthdays.  We chose our fav meal, Hawaiian Haystacks and I requested my FAVORITE most delicious chocolate orange cake from Daniel's Fine Chocolates in Holladay - seriously people, it's to.die.for. Trust me. You must call him up and order one for your next event!!
Thanks friends and fam for making it such a fun birthday! Until next year.....! :)

April Catch Up

Ok really - I HATE the new blogger!!!

Anyways - April came and gone, we were sooo busy (in a good way), that it just flew by.

Again, all these pics are iPhone/Instagram  pics so sorry for you Instagram followers who have seen these already but I have yet to pull out my actual camera.

April started out with April Fools Day of course! Alan's mom had assigned me dessert for Sunday dinner (which happened to be Sunday dinner for her birthday) and since it was April Fools Day we couldn't pass up the opportunity to play a joke on his fam! So we made the most disgusting cake there ever was - vinegar instead of water, salt instead of sugar, and so on.  The time came and his fam started eating it and acting so weird and me and Al were just watching and pretending to eat.  Since I'm the inlaw they didn't know what to do or how to react, it was so funny! But they got us back.  They all started acting sick and I totally believed them because the cake really was sooo disgusting, I was soo worried until they shout April Fools back. You probably had to be there but it was hilarious!

Way back at the very beginning of April we went to City Creek for the first time - it was love at first sight (for me)! I felt like we were on a mini vacay!

For Easter we went to my parents for dinner and egg dying! And of course using Whoppers as lipstick like we used to when we were little!

One night Al and I went to the temple before a Jazz game to see the gorgeous tulips.

After months of applying to get Ellen tickets we finally got them!! I cant wait!

At my cousin Whitney's baby shower! The food was to die for! So excited for Whit!

AvenueLou went to the Utah Valley Women's Expo! It was a lot a fun, but I was sooo tired after 2 long days of standing on my feet talking to people! Thanks to my wonder sis, Katie, for helping me one day while Al was out of town!

My AMAZING mother spoke at BYU Women's Conference and she, of course, did SUCH a great job. And she got to speak with the hilarious Mary Ellen Edmunds!

Me, Meg and Katie did the Color Me Rad 5k a few weeks ago and it was SO FUN!! Basically you are each given a bag full of colorful chalk/cornstarch stuff and you throw it on each other while running! But not only that, there are 5 "color stations" throughout the race where they spray you with water and throw even more color on you! It was sooo funny and so much fun! We could barely see a thing but it was perfect weather and so fun to run around the UVU campus -  we will definitely be doing it again next year.

Al turned the big 3-1 at the end of April! Our birthdays are only a few days apart so Al's fam had a birthday Sunday dinner for both of us.

On Al's actual birthday we met up after work to go downtown to dinner.  Right when we pulled on the freeway Al's tire went flat! We always have crazy stuff happen to us on holidays! I felt so bad for Al out there changing the tire on his birthday, especially when it started on raining him!

We finally made it to dinner and stuffed ourselves at Tucanos. I embarrassed Al big time when I told them it was his birthday and they all came and sang to him!

I decided to act like we were in middle school again and made Al a candy bar poster!
