Labor Day Weekend

Over Labor Day weekend we couldn't pass up the opportunity to go to Jackson once again! It was gorgeous up there and the weather couldn't have been more perfect.

We rode the tram up to the top of Snow King Mountain and hiked around

Looking out over Jackson

Late night stop at the DQ Grill & Chill for some Blizzards

Walking around town

Hiking around String Lake

The boys had rock throwing contests

GORGEOUS Leigh Lake

The most beautiful atmosphere, it was so peaceful and calm - I could've stayed there all day

Its not a drive home from Jackson without seeing a bunch of cows walking down the road!

We had such a fun, relaxing weekend and cant wait to go back!

blessings

I saw this quote on Pinterest and saved it on my desktop as a reminder that the hard times will pass and that I need to stay close to the Lord. This is a quote from my favorite Mormon Message, Good Things to Come. I get teary-eyed every time I watch it. Most of the time I feel like I am the only one going through a hard time and I have to slap myself in the face and realize that I really am so blessed in my life.

I try to watch a few Mormon Messages every Sunday and yesterday I came across this one. It made me bawl like a baby that's for sure! But it helped me realize that I am not alone and that others have hard times too. It is such a blessing to know that I have a Heavenly Father who loves me and knows what I can and cant handle. Its hard to admit but sometimes I feel like my testimony struggles because I'm not getting the things that I want, but I know that I am meant to stumble across quotes or videos or scriptures or people that snap me back into shape. That is why I am especially excited for conference this year! Anyways, sorry to get all gushy. Here is the video!

Wallsburg

At the end of August we were able to go to The Ashton's amazing barn in Wallsburg, UT for a General Young Women family party. It was soooooooo fun! Im not even kidding, it was definitely the most fun day of the summer. This place is amazing and gorgeous. I seriously wish I was a good photographer so I could have captured the beauty and fun because these pics don't even do it justice.

Im obsessed with the big, red barn

First up, the zip line over the lake! It was sooo fun! A little freaky because it was way high (and I'm so scared of heights) but I still did it a few times and loved it.

We talked my dad into going even though he didn't have a swim suit!

Meg, me, and Katie
Next was the HUGE water slide! I cant even count how many times we went down this. We went down in trains, alone and the boys had competitions to see who could go the farthest.

My mom and a few other Board members couldn't pass up the fun so they went down in their clothes!

(Sarajane do you read my blog? Because Im pretty sure that's you and Richie!)

My dad even joined in on the boys competition

We also went rafting and swimming in the lake. The water felt sooo good, there is just something so much more fun about swimming in a lake rather than a pool.

Huge playground for the kids

Cute swings from the trees

Sister Dalton talking to all the families

Thank you Mom and the General Board! It really was the best day of the summer and it couldn't have been more fun. It was the epitome of a perfect summer day from the lake, to the weather, zip-lines, rope swing, popsicles, good food, water-slide, canoes, etc. It was such a great way to end summer I HOPE we get to go back there again!

baby josh

A few weeks ago my third nephew was born! I love having all nephews and I cant wait to get two more this year.

Brooke and Chad had their little Joshua on 8.26.11 and he is so cute. It is so fun to see Brooke on cloud 9, she is already the best mama!

The morning after he was born almost our entire fam bombarded the hospital and hung out with the cute guy for a bit.

Weekend Getaway

A few weeks ago we went on a last minute getaway to St. George and Vegas with Meg & Jon, and Katie. It was such a quick trip but so fun..and HOT! We went down there so the girls could see The Little Mermaid and shop, and so the boys could golf. I forgot my camera so all the blurry pics are courtesy of my phone (and the boy's not-so-great photography skills).

Cute pond outside the house

We love Love LOVED The Little Mermaid, it was sooo cute. If you get the chance to go to St. G to see it, go!

Our next stop was Vegas!

Katie was especially excited since this was her first time to Vegas!

Bellagio Gardens

Serendipity Frozen Hot Chocolate

Dinner at Strip Burger, yum!
