Viva Las Vegas Part Deux

Last week Al had to go to Utah for work and then on Wednesday he left for camp with Young Mens. He promised me he would buy a waterproof camera, so I would have blog material when he got back. I need to get him some Ginkgo Biloba because he forgets important things like that as well as putting clothes in the dryer:)
They hiked the Narrows on Thursday and finished all 16 miles.
I thought I was going to be bored out of my mind while he was gone, but I ended up working at Ann Taylor every night and then one of my long lost friends from 4th grade came to visit me for the weekend. ASPEN!!
We had so much fun and I think I did my job by wearing her out. I had some other friends in town from Utah and LA, so we met up with them on Friday and went to Blush and XS.

On Saturday while Al was at Brianhead moutain biking and paintballing
we went to Peppermill for breakfast.
Not only is this restaurant fun to eat at because it's so tacky inside, but they have the best food.
Did you know they make their own sugar? They have these clear bottles on the table with colored(I thought they were beads), but it's sugar crystals...lol You can see the bottle behind the napkin
and this is what the sugar looks like in your hand.
Afterwards we went to the pool with everyone and the best part was we dressed Breck up as a European. He even had a purse....lol

I discovered a new pool called Azure at the Palazzo. It's like Tao Beach, but way better. Ross and I went to go check it out and I'm so glad we did because guess who was hosting??
Melissa from the Bachlorette and her new Fiance. I hope someone appreciates this picture as much as me. She is just as cute in person. Love Love Love her!!

Azure has the best view of the strip. Check it out!!
Some guy was getting a massage and I was so jealous. What is better than getting a massage to house music?? Ummmm nothing.Aspen and I saw this guy we knew from elementary school walk by us at the pool. Soooo random and if he wasn't on facebook we wouldn't have recognized him. Of course we got a pic:)
Later that night we were way lucky and got free tickets to see Aerosmith and ZZ Top. People watching was probably better than the concert. Jenna and I rocked out with our Zippo ligher iPhone app.
Before Aspen left we had another great breakfast at Blueberry Hill. Our waitress loooved Apsen. She couldn't believe she drove all the way to Vegas by herself. She was trying to pack a lunch and water for her to take on the drive home. She gave us a big hug and kiss on the cheek when we left.

Thanks for coming to visit Aspen. It was so good to see you!!

Summer Fun

Last week Bonnie and I went to this restaurant we've been wanting to try forever. Swish. I think they were trying to copy Melting Pot, but it was a weak attempt. However being that Melting Pot went out of business in Vegas and Swish is still in business that could also mean something. I wasn't a huge fan of the food and definately won't be going back anytime soon, but now I can stop bugging Al to take me there...haha Anyway it was fun to get to hang out with Bonnie and see her cute new blonde hair.
I discovered a great new recipe and if your reading this you have to try it.
Frozen Lemonade Pie
Prep Time: 5 min Inactive Prep Time: 24 hr 0 min Cook Time: 7 min Level: Serves:
8 servings
Ingredients
Graham Cracker Crust:
2 cups graham cracker crumbs
1/4 cup sugar
7 tablespoons butter, melted
Lemonade filling:
1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk, chilled
1 (12 ounce) container whip topping, thawed
1 (6 fluid ounce) can frozen lemonade concentrate, keep frozen
1 teaspoon candied lemon peel
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

In medium bowl, combine cracker crumbs, 1/4 cup of sugar, and the melted butter. Press firmly on bottom and up sides of pie plate. Bake for 7 minutes and let cool completely.

In a medium bowl, add chilled sweetened condensed milk and cool whip and fold gently. Add frozen lemonade and continue to gently fold. Do not let the mixture become soupy. Pour mixture into the pie crust and freeze overnight. Garnish with candied lemon peel.
**I think thin slices of fresh lemon taste and look better then the candied lemon peel**

Summer Oh Nineeee

Due to the high number of no responses for my quiz "What Movie Title Are You" I will not be posting answers. I guess everyone wants to continue to take the lame Facebook quizzes.

We just got back from a weekend of fun in Fish Lake which is in Richfield, Utah. Al's entire extended family has gone for the last 17 years.
Being the avid fisherwoman and camper I am, I couldn't pass up this opportunity. I've only fished once in my life and that was at Fish Lake two years ago with Al:) I guess I can blame my mom for not taking me on fishing trips as a child and giving me barbies instead.
Al and I were glad to get away from the Vegas heat for the third weekend in a row. Fish Lake is beautiful!! I appreciate scenery like that even more now that I live in dry, hot, and desolate Las Vegas.
Here are some pics of us fishing. Al tried to get me to kiss the first fish I caught, but it wasn't happening. I can bait my hook and catch them, but after that Al has to do everything for me. Another great reason why I married him(the list just keeps getting longer).
The second day Al's neck was so sunburned he wore this bandanna(WEAR SUNSCREEN.) I couldn't stop laughing because he looked so ridiculous. Then there is Trevor who wore a sweatshirt in the middle of the day and a tanktop at night?? I don't get it.
Here is a pic of us with our Fishys(left to Right) Kaj, Nikki, Ryker, Al, and last, but not least ME.
We saw a Rainbow one night and had the best Dutch Oven Blueberry Cobbler. So yummy!!

When we went two years ago we found a really cool look out place, so we decided to go back, but it was sooo cold and windy this time.
Funny story....Last time Al told Trevor if he could catch a cow and smack its butt he would buy him a steak dinner. Here is the video I posted on YouTube because it's pretty much the funniest thing ever.
The last night we were there Al, Kaj, and Trevor thought it would be cool to build a fire as tall as the mountains. Again a boy thing I don't understand.
We had tons of Reeses Smores and they were delish
More Fish Lake fun to come next year.

What Movie Title Are You??

We saw a ton of places in NYC that were either in tv shows or movies, so I decided to make a Blog quiz(this is way better than a facebook quiz).

I will start with tv shows

1)What daily show is this dashing guy in?

2)This next one should be a gimme
3)This is one my favorite tv shows on Bravo
4)Another Gimme. Best show ever!!
5) A tv show about fashion with a cute girl named WhitneyMovies

1)This movie came out in 1989 and has Meg Ryan & Billy Crystal in it. Katz's is famous for their Pastrami sandwiches and they should be for $15!!
2) This movie came out in 1998 and also has Meg Ryan in it. Cafe Lalo has the best fruit waffle with cinnamon whip cream.
3)This movie came out in 2001 and this picture should give you the answer.
4)Last but not least this movie came out in 1992. Al is giving a huge clue in the picture below.

No cheating on my quiz!! I will post answers in a couple days, so don't lose sleep over it if you don't know the answers.

New York City In 5 Days

We went to New York City for 5 days to visit Christy and Jace. Jace is working for a law firm in the city, so we decided this was the perfect opportunity to visit our friends and see the city together. Remember us when your rich and famous Jace :)
Our 5 days were packed full of adventure and honestly not a moment to spare. You name it and we probably did it. Here is the list of everything we did and I'm sure I left out some adventures.
NBC news
Rockefeller
Diamond District
St Peters
Statue of Liberty
Katsz’s
Zarin Fabrics
China Town
Brooklyn Bridge
Time Square
Carnegie Hall
Letterman Show
Wicked
Grand Central Station
Café Lalo
Yankee Stadium
Tom’s Restaurant
Wall Street
Ground Zero
South City Seaport
Mets Game
Meat Packing District
Diane Von Furstenburg & Tory Burch
Little Italy
PIZZA
Columbia
5th Avenue
Union Square
Serendipity
Mass
Central Park
Macys all 8 floors
Temple
Ruff Riders
Madison Square Garden
Pier 59-Golf
Soho
Empire State Building

After seeing all those sites I have 653 pictures to choose from and I have no idea which ones I'm going to post. I'm going to be making a lot of collages so ENJOY !!
Rockefeller

St Peters
Statue of Liberty. The line was ridiculous. Note to anyone that goes in the future buy them online or go in the winter and you will be the only one.
Al's Lucky Number 5!!
China town was crazy as usual.
The first time I went there with Tonya we wanted one of the fine quality fake purses. Some lady took us into a building and locked us in a room with hundres of purses and we were like what the?? I was trying to explain to Al about what they do, so I decided it would be best for him to experience it hands on. Some lady walked us around the block, handed us off to another lady we followed into a parking garage and on the bottom level in the corner was a van full of purses. Definately one of the more unique experiences. I did my best at taking a picture with my phone so here it is. The guy selling the purses said to me "No Pictas Pwease" and I said "Oh I'm not taking a picture." SUCKA...lol
I stopped to take a picture of some fruit on Canal Street and the people selling it FREAKED OUT, so I pretended to take another picture...lol Pretty sure I can take a picture of whatever I want. You think they were selling Mangosteens or something.
Back to our adventures in NYC. Here is the Brooklyn Bridge
Time Square. Per Mayor Bloomberg they are trying to attract more visitors to Time Square(as if there were'nt enough already) They put cheap lawn chairs in the middle of the street to loiter and sleep(see pictures below) We saw a bride and groom. We saw a guy selling Obama condoms saying things like Get your Obama condom for this hard time or Get your Obama Condom for the economic stimulus....lol

Late Show, Carnegie Hall, and best of all WICKED!! I'm so glad I finally got to see it and understand what all the hype was about. It was amazing.
The Yankees were out of town while we were there which was a bummer, but we went to see the new stadium and ended up going to a Mets game later that night. I bought a new Yankee hat but Al said I couldn't wear it to the Mets game. I obviously still don't understand sports. Here is a picture of the old Yankees stadium all tore up. Mets Game.
As you can see Al is in his zone. At the game they gave eveyone a bag of potato chips and you were supposed to wait until the second inning,so a world record of 39,203 people crunching chips at once would be set. My life has changed since that night.
On Saturday we got to spend the entire day with Christy and we had sooo much fun. Thanks to Kat we got to eat the biggest and best slice of pizza for only $3.25

Outside we witnessed an intense game of Chess.
We walked around Columbia and all wished for a moment we would've went there for college.
We couldn't go to NYC without having sushi, so that night we had Sushi in Soho and went to Serendipity afterwards. There was only a 2.5 hour wait and after we sat down we were informed we had to spend a minimum of $8 a person.
During our wait we went to a candy store on the corner and had a little too much fun. We ended up getting our own little candy dispenser with a mini spoon. Best purchase ever!! The candy store had the best wallpaper ever and it totally reminded me of Willy Wonka, so we had to take a picture. The snozberries taste like snozberries.
5th Ave
We took a bike ride through Central Park, but we didn't do the pedaling. I loved seeing all the people laying out in the park. If I lived in the City I would totally layout there every weekend.
We couldn't go to NYC without doing something that involved golf, so here we are hitting golf balls. This is the coolest driving range I've ever been to because you don't have to put the golf ball on your tee everytime. A tee comes up after every ball you hit and you can adjust the height of the tee. We loved it!!
I made Al go into The Worlds Biggest Macy's with me and walk around all 8 levels. Every Macy's should be like that.
The last day we went to Little Italy and had lunch at a restaurant called Buona Notte. Al's dad went on his mission to Italy and this restaurant came highly recommended by him. I don't think he reads our blog, but we took these pics for you #4:D
New York City is the best. I ♥ NYC more and more everytime I go!!
