We Are Off To See The Wizard

I saw a banner on the freeway for The Wizard Of Oz Play and thought it might be a fun friday night activity. I talked Al, Danielle, and Chad into going. The play was ok, but with Chad sleeping and Al glued to his phone we ended up leaving early. The saying you get what you pay for is true.

On Saturday while Al was golfing in St George
Kristin and I went to the pool at the Mirage. Apparently you have to start saving chairs at 7am and that isn't a joke. Some guy walked by and gave Kristin and I passes to Bare which is their new pool area like Tao Beach. What we didn't know is that they charge you $50 for a chair or you have to buy $50 in drinks, so we didn't stay there long. Plus look at this mini pool with way too many people in it.
The crazy thing about laying out in 105 degree weather is that you burn your skin on the chairs and there are NO gaps between the chairs meaning you can get a little cozy with your neighbor. Meet my neighbor(we will call him Joe)We asked our other neighbors to take a picture of us and she made a joke about taking a pic of her husband. Ya just checking she really took one of him and the one she took of us was deleted shortly after because it sucked. Thats what I get for asking drunk people.
You can make all kinds of friends at the pools in Vegas!! It was a good weekend. More fun to come for the 4th of July and NYC next week .

Mangosteens Do A Body Good

When we were in SLC last weekend Stacy introduced me to Xango. I'm sure most people in Utah have heard about Xango and Noni, but have you tried it? It comes from Mangosteens which are grown in Southeast Asia(I did some research). Mangosteens are the fruit with the highest amount of antioxidants. Just 1–3 ounces a day gives you what you need.

Stacy and I did a shot together before we left on Sunday and she was also kind enough to give me a bottle of my own. Then there is Al who thinks all this stuff is a scam, but then again his favorite food is Mac & Cheese:D He wanted to prove Stacy wrong, so he did some research and found out that some top executives from Noni started Xango and got sued. He says Xango is just an overpriced juice that is just as good for you as any other juice.
However I totally disagree with Al and that just means more mangosteens for Stacy and I. I will continue to do my shot a day and in twenty years when I look like I'm 30, Al will look like he's 50. All to the thanks of Mangosteens because they Do A Body Good!!

Zing Zang Zoom

Last week we went to the Circus with our friends Kristin and Kris(Rusty and Chiles parents). I don't think Kris was too excited about going, but I had to remind him that this wasn't just any circus it was Ringling Brothers & Barnum Bailey Circus. THE GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH!! I had one request from Al which was Cotton Candy. Pretty sure the cotton candy was more than our tickets. The Carnies don't give you the option to just buy cotton candy, so you have to get the ridiculous red hat that I might add matched perfectly with my red shirt, but was too small for my big head...lol. The highlight of the night were the elephants and the catchy song Zing Zang Zoom. It was a fun night and I'm glad we went!!
On Friday we drove to Utah AGAIN for Fathers Day and one of Als mission companions wedding. We went to dinner with Al's family and my mom and Ryan. It's quite the production to get 16 people to take a picture together, but here we all are.
Nikki's son Ryker is soo cute. He loves when people take his picture, so that's how we bonded.
Here is one of Coby & Ryker
I can't forget Al #4s new shoes. They are called Vibram Five Fingers and they have individual toes...lol Definately a good conversation piece.
Trevor recently started selling Kirby vaccuums and gave me a presentation on how Kirbys are better than Dysons.
He also did a demonstration on how there are dust mites in our beds which is pretty sick. He sold me on Kirbys and Al & I will definately own one someday.
The wedding was beautiful. They got married and had a reception at Conrad Ranch in Provo Canyon. Congrats Mike & Ashley!!
Afterwards we went and watched Coby's football tournament at BYU. Supposedly the games were only 20 minutes long and they played until they lost. We were there for 3hours and they were still playing when we left, so if I divide 180/20 I watched 9 games. That is more football than I've ever watched in my entire life...lol
Here is Ryker again loving the camera

and baby Briyler.
We met up with Tonya, Billy, Zak, Kylee,Megan, Kyle, and baby Porter for dinner.
Al loves Calazones. This one is for you Meg...lol

We had a BBQ on Sunday before we left SLC. Being that there is no flowers in Vegas and I finally have a nice camera to take pictures I went crazy and took a bunch in my Aunt Liz's yard.
My grandma made the best cheesecake ever for Al's birthday. Liz didn't have any candles so we used matches instead. It was so much fun to see everyone. Come visit us in Vegas before the sun cooks us to death.

June Baby

We had to say goodbye to our fellow friends Rusty and Chile. Lets just say I'm over my "I want a dog phase." I'm sure it will come back, but definately not anytime soon.
We did a ton of stuff this weekend, but I didn't really take any pictures which is totally unlike me. On Friday night we got to meet up with Stacy at Green Valley Ranch. We got to witness a mean game of beer pong at one of the bars in the casino and the best part was they were playing Zombie by the Cranberries...lol

I thought those games only existed at frat parties, but apparently it's pretty popular.
On Saturday we got to hang out with Ross and his friends at the MGM pool.
First off this picture I found online looks semi relaxing, but I forgot how insane pools are here in the summer. There is thousands of chairs and if you can find empty chairs its comparable to finding gold. The pools and lazy river have the murkiest sickest water...lol Oh and now they have an area called Wet Republic which is like Tao Beach, but it costs $20 to get into. I did hear the music they were playing and it was good HOUSE music!! I also began a hotel key collection . If you come to Vegas make sure you save me your room key, so I will have future access to all pools!!
Al and I shared a $15 VIRGIN strawberry daquiri out of a 3ft tall cup and it was amazing. I don't know why I didn't take pictures. I'm sure most of you have seen the huge cups people carry around on the strip, but I witnessed the biggest one ever today. I was in the elevator and this guy had a full on seat belt thing strapped around his neck and the cup was at least 5ft tall. I asked him where he got it and he said it cost $45 and he didn't remember a thing after he drank it. HAHA Oh man I wish I would've gotten a picture.
We found a park here with grass and trees(that is rare) and decided to use our rollerblades that we once bought for the beach. I used to be a pretty good roller blader when I was younger. I would get my walkmen and listen to my Ace of Base tape. Lets just say I don't remember how to use the brake and ended up in the grass after every hill. Luckily there was grass

We also had one of our favorite meals this weekend and I do have pictures of that. PHO noodle soup!! I've loved vietnamese food ever since I was little and now I have Al addicted too. I was a little worried I wouldn't find a restaurant as good as Cafe Trang or ghetto Shanghai cafe, but they have China town here and there is probably a good 50 Vietnamese restaurants in a 1 mile radius. We have our favorite one called Pho Saigon and it's $4 for a huge bowl of soup.
This is the yummy sprouts, basil, and lime you put in the soup.
I definately recommend trying it because it's the best thing ever.
Al used to think I was a weirdo for wanting a big bowl of soup, but now he is starting to realize I know all the secrets:)

The Babysitters

I've recently had the urge to get a dog. Being I was one of the last ones to get married out my group of friends I've come to witness a pattern of becoming a dog owner and then having a baby a year or two later. I didn't think a dog could replace my cute little Puffer I had until highschool, but I've decided I want another Yorkie. (I wanted to find a picture of Puffer and this collage I made in my scrapbooking days is all I could find for now). The part that gets tricky is I need to convince Al 1. how little dogs are the best and not accessories MEGAN:) 2. how it is necessary to have a dog to train you for kids.
Well we were so blessed to be asked to babysit our friends dogs for 9 days and that includes nights. I must have mentioned I really wanted a dog because Kristin told me it would prepare me for when I got my dog. Way to assume the sale.
Being the great friends we are, we took them under our wing and the adventures began. There is Rusty who I keep thinking is a she and I want to rename him Bunny Frou Frou.
I honestly don't know how a dog can have that much hair. You can't even find his collar when you are trying to put on his leash. I kind of want to give Bunny a summer hair cut. This dog is the most well behaved animal I've ever seen. He waits for you to put on his leash, he walks by your side, and he is a great lap dog. I don't like writing he because it should be a SHE...lol It's good Kristin doesn't read this blog.
The second dog is CHILE and he is out of control. He jumps like a kangaroo and runs around in cirlces. I've never seen a dog with so much energy. Even more than Lyric POO Ton:) I don't even like taking it on walks because his leash always manages to get tangled around me. Today he destroyed his chew toy in our living room and Kristin told me he goes through about one a week. I tried to take a picture of both of them, but this is what I got because he will never hold still. The picture above was pure luck.

My motherly instincts kicked in and I decided we needed to buy them some bones to occupy their time. It's the best decision I've made since marrying Al because we had peace for at least an hour.
Afterwards Chile was back to his ways of jumping and licking. Bunny and I have bonded. I can't get over how much hair he(she) has.

I also can't believe how white I am in this picture. I thought when I found out we were moving to Las Vegas I would always be tan. Apparently thats not the case.
P.S. Comments are appreciated especially ones that will encourage Al to buy me a Yorkie

When love feels like magic, it's called Destiny. When destiny has a sense of humor, It's called Serendipity ...

We had a weekend packed full of exciting events, but would you expect anything less from Al and I??;) We got to meet up with Megan, Kyle, and baby Porter for a little sushi rendevous on their way home from Disneyland.(For more info on their trip go to http://lacrossfamily.blogspot.com)

I decided Porter looks like a mini Kyle with Megans eyes. He was not a fan of Al...lol Everytime Porter looked at Al he got tears in his eyes.

It was fun to see The Cross Fam and catch up on life.
Al and I went to the driving range on Saturday and a storm was rolling in so of course I took pics. Afterwards we went to Serendipity with Chad and Danielle. I had such a good experience with the one in NYC I had to go to this one too. Here are some pics of Tonya and I at the original one in NYC 2006. I remember we had to wait sooo long, so here are some pics of us extremely bored...lol. The one in Vegas has a totally different atmosphere and they have a window you can walk up to and get frozen hot chocolate to go??
We did the whole shabang and started with Nachos for an appetizer which had at least 5pounds of cheese.

I forgot how their menus are as big as you, so you feel a little awkward opening it.
Our entrees were ok, but not good enough to make the blog. However the dessert was awesome. I personally think the frozen hot chocolate is a little over rated, so Al talked the waitress into giving us a shot glass full and of course we took infamous picture EVERYONE TAKES!! This time it was better because I had Al to share it with:)
We had The Forbidden Broadway Sundae which could have easily fed 10 people. Al and I barely ate 1/4 of it. Chad and Danielle had this ridiculous banana split with so much sauce. We were all in sugar comas when we left.
Serendipity was fun, but the one in NYC is where it's at. Al doesn't know yet, but someday we're going to have the Golden Opulence Sundae that costs $1,000.00.
If you couldn't tell I've been into taking pictures of food lately. I made Shish Kabobs and Pasta Salad with Asparagus yesterday and they were so good. Al said the pasta salad is how all salads should be because you can customize each bite and there is no lettuce??
