There's a lot going on this week! It's also time for our monthly Stamping Symphony Blog Hop and this month we have an awesome sketch challenge! Check it out:

Since I'm featuring products from the Lights Aglow Suite all this week, I thought it only fitting to create a card for this sketch using those products...

I went with a Black, Gold and Vanilla colour scheme, inspired by the beautiful Lights Aglow Specialty Designer Paper. I layered it on a piece of Very Vanilla card stock, which I embossed using the Merry Melody embossing folder. I added some gold foil card stock, embossed with the Wintery 3D embossing folder and the a gorgeous heat embossed and die-cut snowflake. Seriously...it is stunning! 🤩

I added a sentiment from the Brightest Glow stamp set (also heat embossed in gold) and embellished with a die-cut gold snowflake, a pretty bow and a black matte dot.

On the inside I added a scrap strip of the DSP and stamped a sentiment from the Brightest Glow stamp set in black. This card has some serious wow-factor, but is actually pretty quick and easy to put together. Join me tomorrow (Wednesday!) for my Facebook Live @ Five and I'll show you how! Or catch the replay shortly afterwards on my YouTube channel.

Now before you head off to shop the Seasonal Sale, be sure to check out what the rest of our team has designed...

Thanks for stopping by this week! Now go get shopping!

Penguin Place Gift Card Holder

Happy Tuesday...and happy December! I hope this most festive of months is off to a smooth start and that your holiday preparations are well under way. Speaking of holidays, I have a super-easy gift card holder to share with you today that will make giving gift cards a little extra-special. I don't know about you, but I always feel like gift cards are a bit of a cop out...the easy way to shop for gifts. But with a 14-year old in the house, whose tastes are NOTHING like mine, a gift card is the best way to gift something that I know he will like (because he'll choose it himself!). So I came up with this super-cute and easy gift card holder...

gift card holder

I have been waiting for what feels like FOREVER for the Penguin Place bundle to come back in stock before showcasing it...and it finally has! I am absolutely in love with this little penguin playing Rudolph! So stinkin' cute! I set him against a wintry scene created using the Layering Diorama dies and Evergreen Border punch. Such a quick and easy way to create an easy background for this little guy. I added some die-cut Stitched Snowflakes (one of which acts as a fastener to hold the card shut) and my favourite sentiment from the Penguin Place stamp set.

gift card holder

Now, as cute as this little guys is, he isn't the best part of this project...it is a gift card holder...and a super-easy one at that! All it took was one extra score line at the 2" mark on my card base to create a perfect pocket to hold a gift card. Ya gotta love easy...especially at this time of year!

Painted Christmas Fun Fold

Happy Tuesday! I hope your week is off to a good start. Can you believe that today is the last day of November?? The countdown to Christmas in on and time is running out to get your Christmas craft projects finished up. Today I have some inspiration for an easy take on an easel card using the beautiful Painted Christmas Suite...check this out:

fun fold christmas card

This centre-fold easel card starts out as a standard 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" card base and, with just a couple of extra cuts and an extra score line, ends up as a pretty fun fold that displays beautifully on a table top or mantel.

fun fold Christmas card

I used Designer Paper from the Painted Christmas pack that features a traditional red-and-green colour palette and beautiful watercolour-look images. The sentiments are from the Christmas to Remember stamp set, which is also part of this mega-suite. The ink colours I used included: Early Espresso, Evening Evergreen, Pear Pizzazz, Just Jade and Real Red.

Both of the sentiment labels and the horizontal red label were die-cut using the Seasonal Labels dies...if you haven't scooped those up yet, you need to! They are fantastic and coordinate perfectly with the Christmas Season stamp set.  The gold foil elements are from the Expressions in Ink Ephemera pack in the Annual Catalogue. I love how quickly and easily they add elegance to a project!

The only embellishments I used here are some gold metallic pearls and a cute bow made from Real Red 3/8" Sheer ribbon...I am SERIOUSLY going to miss that stuff when it retires in January!

Join me live on my Facebook business page this afternoon at 5 pm ET for the complete how-to, including cutting and scoring measurements for this card. If you miss me live, the replay will post to my YouTube channel shortly afterwards and will include measurements in the video description.
