Prized Peony

Happy Tuesday! I hope your week is off to a good start. Mine started with my monthly Stamping Symphony virtual meeting last night, which ALWAYS a great way to kick off the week. I love spending time with my tribe...they uplift and inspire me in ways I'm sure they don't even realize. Even in these days of social distancing, gathering virtually still fills my cup each month.

Today I am excited to share, not only a pretty project, but also launch my newest online class!

Card kit to make at home

This class includes all of the pre-cut supplies to make five beautiful cards, including 3 fun folds! You'll also receive a step-by-step tutorial video and PDF supply list with all of the measurements so you can recreate the projects as many times as you'd like. In addition you'll receive products from the Peony Garden Suite. There are three different options to choose from, all of which include product from the Peony Garden Suite. Click the image above to learn more and/or to order your class.

I'll be featuring this gorgeous suite all week long, starting with this pretty card...

I used Grey Granite, Purple Posy and Soft Sea Foam as my colour palette for this card. The background panel is Grey Granite card stock, stamped using Grey Granite ink. I love the tone on tone look to add subtle texture. The inset panel is a piece of Peony Garden DSP, layered on a mat of Purply Posy card stock. The beautiful peony image is stamped in Grey Granite ink and then coloured with Purple Posy and Soft Sea Foam Stampin' Blends. The shading on the stamped image makes colouring it a breeze!

The sentiment is a portion of one of the sentiment stamps. I used a Grey Granite Stampin' Write marker to ink only the portion I wanted, stamped on Whisper White card stock, and then die-cut using the Stitched Rectangles dies. I added some pretty 1/4" Grey Granite Shimmer Ribbon and a few Elegant Faceted Gems to complete this pretty card.

On the inside, I added a Whisper White card stock panel and stamped another of the peony images in Grey Granite ink...even without colour, these images are GORGEOUS!

I'll be demonstrating this card and two others using this product suite in today's Live @ Five video over on my Facebook Business Page. If you don't already follow me, you'll want to take a second and do so, as I'll be posting more ideas using this suite all week long. If you miss my live broadcast, you can catch the replay on my YouTube channel shortly afterwards.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Have a fabulous week!

Ornate Garden Thanks

Happy Tuesday...and happy belated Easter! I hope you had a blessed holiday, even whilst social distancing. Although so much has been cancelled by this virus, Easter has not...Jesus still rose from the grave and THAT is reason to celebrate!

Before I get to today's project share, I have to tell you to head over to my online store and check out the Clearance Rack. It has been updated with TON of great retired products all priced to move. All items are available only while supplies last, so you'll want to head over there NOW to snap up the deals!

Over the long weekend I had a chance to play with the beautiful new Ornate Garden Suite, which is a pre-release from the upcoming 2020/21 Annual Catalogue. All I can say is WOW! These are BEAUTIFUL products! I just couldn't stop playing with them...so many ideas! Here is the very first card I created...

Just look at the detail on those layers! As someone who tends to layer A LOT, the Ornate Layers bundle was made for me! And how about that DSP? So many of the patterns remind me of Laura Ashley prints...so very pretty!

My colour palette came from the DSP...Mint Macaron and Terracotta Tile...such an unexpected combination that works beautifully together! The ribbon I used is actually from the current Annual Catalogue and is so soft and pretty...perfect for this design.

Because I love the layering dies so much, I couldn't resist cutting another Whisper White layer for the inside of the card...such a pretty touch!

Here is the link to my video in which I demonstrate this card and two others using the Ornate Garden Suite...

Thanks for stopping by today...have a great week. Stay well and be safe!

Beauty and Joy for Fall

Happy Monday! I hope you had a super weekend. Can you believe it is the last day of September?? Where has the month gone? Here in Southern Ontario we are definitely starting to look like Fall. The leaves are beginning their annual fireworks display and the nights are getting chillier. Soon it will be time for cozy sweaters and hot chocolate by the fire...I can't wait!

Today I have a decidedly Fall-themed card for you featuring and easily overlooked stamp set from the Holiday Catalogue called Beauty and Joy. Check it out:

This is another gorgeous set in Stampin' Up!s exclusive DistINKtive line and it is fast-becoming a favourite! So many pretty possibilities with this set! Check out this pretty thank you card...

Don't you just LOVE those pretty fall leaves? And the shading in those stamp images is all with just one layer of ink...how fabulous is that?? I used Crumb Cake ink to stamp the basket, Early Espresso for the trunk and Crushed Curry and Cherry Cobbler for the leaves and berries. To create the two-toned leaves, I first inked the stamp with Crushed Curry ink and then dabbed on Cherry Cobbler using a sponge dauber here and there. The result is stunning! Here's a closer look...

Know whats REALLY cool? The colour that results from mixed Crushed Curry and Cherry Cobbler is very close to Cajun Craze! So, I used gingham DSP in Cajun Craze for my background and a bit of Cajun Craze linen thread as an accent. I love happy accidents like this! The yellow leaf accent was die-cut from Crushed Curry card stock using the Gathered Leaves dies. The background panel is embossed using the Pinewood Planks embossing folder.

I loved the look of the colourful leaves so much I stamped more inside the card. Doesn't that just make you want to jump in a pile of fall leaves??

I will be demonstrating this card and two others using the Beauty and Joy stamp set in tomorrow's Live @ Five video over on my Facebook page at 5:00 pm ET. I hope you'll join me for the live broadcast, but if you aren't able to you can catch the replay on my YouTube channel or on the Video Tutorials tab at the top of this page later in the week. Just search for the video with today's date.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you have a wonderful first week of October!
