The Card Concept, The Shabby Tea Room, Seize the Birthday & Viva la Verve {Fabulous}

Happy Wednesday! Today we have a brand new challenge over at The Card Concept. This is my last challenge with the team as a Guest Designer! It was wonderful to play along with these talented and inspiring ladies.

This week we are simply looking for a Birthday Card. I chose the inspiration photo because of the white cake mixed with the pretty flowers and the woodgrain. I did not manage to get the woodgrain incorporated in my card but I tried to capture the spring like quality of the colours.

My sketch came from the Viva la Verve Sketches. I LOVE this sketch! It was great to use up some scraps from my bin. I also used an oval for the center to fit my sentiment which is a new one for me from Stampin' Up. I am a sucker for scrolling font! I am also linking this up at the Seize the Birthday Anything Goes Birthday Challenge. I am also linking up at The Shabby Tea Room Anything Goes Challenge.

Baby Blog Hop for Jinny!

Saturday! Hooray! I am happy to get my craft on this weekend but I also have big plans to walk and to purge my craftroom and closet! I have been meaning to purge all week but the days are just not long enough and my weekly walk is cutting into my purging plans. I am, however, purging pounds and have now lost 11lbs! Woot!

Today I am thrilled to be a part of a special blog hop for Jinny! She has just had a baby boy and so the Paper Sweeties gals are throwing her a special baby hop!

Come and follow the hop to see what the other designers made for Jinny!

Lesley Croghan <<< you are here!
Congratulations, Jinny! I am so happy for you and your family! Wishing you all the best! Did you know that the Shabby Tearoom has a baby challenge on right now! Go play along! I am also submitting this to the Curtain Call Challenge: Cozy Quilt! I was inspired by the patterns; hence my paper and doily on the card and don't forget that warm, fuzzy felt flower. I am also playing with the great sketch at Clean & Simple Sketches. I LOVED the sketch and decided to flip it and use a circular image.

The Shabby Tea Room {Cream, Kraft & Black}

Our Shabby Tearoom Challenge this week is to create a project using the colours BLACK, KRAFT AND CREAM/WHITE! The photo suggests a New Year theme but really, it is up to you what you create and remember, it does not have to be shabby!

I am the hostess this week and above is the photo I used...I loved the sepia look...I am really into neutrals.

For my card I used the Paper Sweeties Set called Let It Snow and the Paper Sweeties dies called Homespun Holidays Sweet Cuts! Love that there was a star in the pack! I layered some gold ribbon beneath the star cut outs and I put the whole panel through my crimper. The card is really pretty with the gold peeking through.

I am also entered this card into the following challenges:

The Shabby Tea Room {Joyous Season}-Using Tags & The Ribbon Reel

Welcome! I am so happy! December is here and so many wonderful things have been happening around here! I placed an order for some new goodies from Paper Sweeties and I decided to get kinda soft and vintage for this week's Shabby Tea Room Challenge! We have a lovely inspiration photo and we were asked to make a tag or to use a tag on our project...so I went to work!

I LOVE the colours in this photo and I took my cue from the pale pinks and aquas. I used a Martha Stewart die cut doily, a tag from Recollections and some pretty taffeta ribbon from SU! The sentiment comes from one of the new Paper Sweeties sets called Homespun Holidays and the matching Homespun Holidays Sweet Cuts dies. I loved the little ornament in it, and cut it out twice.

Come and create your own tag or card with tag based on the inspiration photo. We would love to have you join us!!! Happy crafting!
