The Play Date Cafe {Mother's Day Wishes} & Simon Says Stamps

I ventured out of the house today, to meet my hubby for lunch. He is working all weekend, poor guy. Anyway, my little hour outing left me pretty sapped of energy. This darn bug just keeps hanging on.

Being sick, I have missed the Play Date Cafe challenge and I REALLY loved the colours they have offered this week! SO pretty!!! I was immediately inspired to create a flower Mother's Day Card. I added some burlap to the bottom of my card for some added texture.

{Supplies Used}
Stamps: Verve
Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black
Papers: The Sweet Thing-Tangerine {MME}, Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade, Pink Pirouette
Extras: Burlap, Pearls, Butterfly Punch, Leaf Die

I am also entering this into the current Simon Says Stamp "Anything Goes" Challenge.

Play Date Cafe, CAS(E) this Sketch & The Alley Way Be Inspired {We Click}

Happy Weekend! Friday night is my crafty night and I had the chance to play along with some of my favourite challenges! Yippee! I loved the clean and fun sketch over at CAS(E) this Sketch and I am a sucker for neutrals, so The Play Date Cafe Colours this week, caught my eye!

I also loved the Inspiration photo over at The Alley Way Stamps blog...and I was inspired to make this card for a happy couple...

During Spring Break I ordered some goodies from Alley Way Stamps and have been waiting for the perfect opportunity to ink this adorable set called "FRAMED!" I used some smooch paint in silver to create the lens on my camera. I inked up those sweet hearts behind it with Crumb Cake ink on Kraft paper.

Stamps: The Alley Way Stamps "FRAMED!"

Feeling Springy

My Spring Break is over...oh so sad but I had a magical week. I wish I could be home more. My house is shining and I feel great!

I wanted to play along with the sketch at CAS(E) This Sketch. I truly believe it is this challenge which has given me the courage to explore the CAS world of card making! I also wanted to use the gorgeous colours at the Play Date Cafe. Those colours remind me of my Grammy, which is a nice memory and bittersweet. She would have loved this card as she loved flowers and purples. I am also linking my card to the Simon Says Stamp: Easter/Spring Challenge.

{Supplies Used}
Stamps: Simon Says Stamps-Flower Friend and YOU
Inks: Garden Green, Certainly Celery, Opulent Orchid and Ellegant Eggplant

The Play Date Cafe {You're Special}

Today I am sharing a card I made using the colours from the Play Date Cafe. I just love the bold coral colour being used this week, I think coral is one of my favourite colours!! In fact, my bridesmaids wore this colour.

I went for a clean-lined approach to my card! I inked up a new Hero Arts background stamp, to create the designer paper. I then inked up this retired flower from Stampin' Up, I am so happy I bought this one as I love to use it. I punched out the flower three times and popped up each layer. The sentiment comes from Paper Smooches, I just picked up this sentiment set. I think this will be a nice card for my cousin.

{Supplies Used}
Stamps: Stampin' Up, Hero Arts, Paper Smooches
Inks: Black and Calyspo Coral
Papers: Calypso Coral, Black, White
Extras: 5 petal punch, Large Blossom Punch, 1/8" Circle Punch

Colour Blocking with CAS-ual Friday and the Play Date Cafe {Happy Birthday}

Are you sick of me yet? Four posts on one day?!! I am not meaning to post so much but I am in a card making mood and don't want to miss challenge deadlines! I have done that before!

I was intrigued by the challenge over at CAS-ual Fridays this week. The theme is Color Blocking and when I saw the colors at the Play Date Cafe, I knew I had to play along.

I am not sure if I achieved the Colour Blocked look? I stamped a set from Close to My Heart called Love Blooms. I loved the flowers and the leaves in this set!! I inked up each image in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and then coloured the images with my Copic Markers. I was thinking how nice this might look stamped in dark gray on vanilla paper and then coloured with soft and subtle pinks and creams...hmmm...might have a go at that!!

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Close to My Heart-Love Blooms and Stampin' Up-Perfectly Penned
Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and Copics
Papers: Flourishes White CS, Black CS and Tempting Turquoise CS

CASology {Bunny} & Play Date Cafe

Just a quick post so I can make it to the CAS-ology "Bunny" Challenge. I used the colours from the Play Date Cafe too. I loved the springy and vibrant colours. I coloured her little scarf in the vibrant colours. I am really enjoying the CAS look...need to practice a lot more though!!!

A couple of weeks ago, I purchased this adorable image from Torico called "Catch My Heart". I never had the chance to ink it up for Valentine's Day, so I decided to use it as a birthday card!! You Float My Boat and Happy Holidays

Hooray! I got my craft on! Tonight I was itching to colour and to make a card! When I saw the sketch at There She Goes, I got out some of my There She Goes Stamp Sets and looked for a fun image to play with. I love my Copics and when I saw the Colours at the Play Date Cafe, I just knew I had to play along! The colour story was so pretty and the coffee napkin had a nautical theme...this inspired me even more!

My card came together quickly, and I cut the strips of designer paper into 1" strips and then spread them out across a white card base. I chose this paper by Bella BLVD because it looked like waves to me. The twine is from Hemptique and had a bit of sheen to it.

{Supplies Used}
Stamps: There She Goes-Float My Boat
Inks: Copics, Memento Black Tuxedo Ink
Papers: Bella BLVD, Flourishes White CS, Soft Suede CS
Extras: Hemptique Twine
Technique: Paper Piecing the Flag onto the boat

I also decided to play along with a couple of other challenges as well!

Then I was inspired to play again!

The Retro Sketch this week was a great one, it could be taken in any direction and I wanted to ink up another set from There She Goes called "Snowy Days".  I bought this set a few months ago and I have not had the chance to ink it up! Tonight I pulled out my Memento Ink and my Copics and went to work! This card is clean and simple but will be easy to mail for Christmas!!! I bought this set because the dog reminded me of our dog Cyrus. I love his sweet markings.

{Supplies Used}
Stamps: Snowy Days-There She Goes
Inks: Copics, Memento Black Tuxedo Ink
Papers: Gumball Gree, Flourishes White CS, My Mind's Eye
Extras: MFT Medium Scallop Edge

Casual Play Date with Fun Colours and a Neat Technique!

Just a quick and easy card for some challenges tonight! My colours come from the Play Date Cafe. They are celebrating their Third Anniversary and I wanted to celebrate along with them! Congrats to the team! I also wanted to join in the fun at CAS-ual Fridays and make a clean and simple card that is off the edge...a fun challenge and something I don't try a lot. I wanted to use this pretty circular stamp and make it look like snow was falling...off the card...this is also a one layer card, which is rare from me but I am beginning to see the merits of clean and simple stamping. I am trying hard to stamp like this! Hahaha! Which is kind of ironic!
