Dynamic Duos #1 {Just for You}

The BIG DAY is here! May the 5th and the DYNAMIC DUOS challenge blog is launched!!! We are starting off our challenge with a wonderful combo chosen by FACEBOOK friend Sharla!  She suggested Aqua and Lime, so I chose Lucky Limeade and Pool Party to be our inaugural colours!!!  I decided to tone down the colours with some Crumb Cake/Kraft paper.  I wanted to show that you are welcome to combine the two colours with neutrals. Not much stamping on this card!

Stamps: Retired Hostess set from Stampin' Up
Inks: Lucky Limeade
Papers: Lucky Limeade DSP, Crumb Cake Cardstock, Whisper White, Pool Party DSP and CS
Extras: MS Doily, Butterfly Die from SU!, Oval Nestabilities, Old Olive Grosgrain Ribbon, Pearls, Swiss Dots Embossing Folder

I hope you will join us in our inaugural challenge over at Dynamic Duos!  Be sure to check out the wonderful and varied samples from the design team!

Freshly Made Sketches #18-A Sketch by Linda Callahan and the Colour Q

This week at Freshly Made Sketches, the fun loving Linda Callahan has a terrific sketch for us!  Last night I put the finishing touches on my card and then discovered I had NO batteries in my camera...ACK...they were done!  So I plugged in my charger and got up early this morning to take my pictures and get my card posted!

I was intrigued by the colours over at the Colour Q this week.  I don't think I have EVER used these colours together and I am not sure I did so very well but hey, I gave it a whirl!  This is the first time I have used Island Indigo! Thanks for the push Arielle!!

The Paper Players Challenge #78-{Get Well}

This week at the Paper Players, the wonderful LeAnne Pugliese has a colour challenge for us!  I love the fun and bright colours she chose, and decided to ink up a clear set from Inkadinkado!  I used my Copics and so had to use the closest colours I had in my stash.

I used the sketch from Try Stampin' on a Tuesday this week. I absolutely LOVED it!!! Instead of a bow, I decided to add a circle for the sentiment.  My scallop border was created using the medium scallop die from My Favorite Things.

Paper Players #69 {Shabby Birthday}

Sunday already! Wow! This week at the Paper Players, the lovely Nance has challenged us with a gorgeous sketch!  Her sketch had me inspired right away and I decided to continue with the shabby, vintage style I have been exploring.  I made THIS CARD yesterday in the shabby vintage style too.

Pool Party is one of the new "In Colours" from Stampin' Up and I thought it would like pretty on my roses from "Elements of Style".  So I inked them up with my Pool Party Marker. Then I inked the leaves in another new In Colour called "Lucky Limeade".  The Designer Paper is from the In Colour Designer Paper Pack.  I inked the edges with my Soft Suede ink and a sponge.  For some reason, I am really loving butterflies and so out came the Beautiful Wings embosslit die again.  I added some pearls as accents.

We hope that you will join the Paper Players Challenge this week!  Please be sure to visit the other DT Members to see their wonderful creations!

Friday Mashup #27-Double, Double, Toil and Trouble!

This week at the Friday Mashup we are going spooky!  That is right, Halloween and a terrific colour challenge!  We also have two new talented Guest Designers for October, Nina - Notes by Nina and Michele - Michele Hearts Paper.  Welcome ladies!!

So here is the "Mashup" Challenge :
  1. Make a "Halloween themed" Project.
  2. Or Make a Project using the colors: "Black, Pumpkin Pie, Lucky Limeade & Concord Crush".
  3. Or "Mash it Up" and create a "Halloween project using the Colors listed above".
*With all of our Challenges that have a Stampin' Up! Colour Combo, you may substitute any colours you have, with similar ones you have on hand.

I don't have very many Halloween sets so I had to improvise and pulled out an old stamp that I had before I became a Stampin' Up Demonstrator. I embossed the trees with versamark, black ink and clear embossing powder. Then I sponged Pumpkin Pie ink all over them.  I love the effect of the emboss resist.  I also embossed the sentiment from "Hand-penned Holidays".  The DSP is from the Hostess Level 1 pack from last year's catalogue, I thought the design looked "bat like" in the Concord Crush.

Friday Mashup #20-Sweet as a Button...

...and cute as a CUPCAKE!  Good morning!!!  Friday is here and with it the "Friday Mashup" Challenge!  This week is a cute challenge, featuring Cupcakes (my favourite) and buttons (which is something I always forget to add!)  I used brads instead!

Create a project using Buttons .
Create a project featuring "Cupcakes".
or "Mash it Up!" and create a project with Cupcakes & Buttons!

I inked up an old favourite using new colours!  Calypso Coral and Lucky Limeade...those colours scream "BIRTHDAY" to me!!!  Happy and cheerful, the new In Colours are so much fun to play with!!!

I paper pieced the cupcake with Designer Paper and smooched spritzed the top of my cupcake to make it sparkle.  The Designer Paper is the new In Colour Paper Pack and see those fun brads...they are new In Colour brads in Lucky Limeade!!!  The sentiment comes from the Petite Pairs stamp set, this is a MUST HAVE because all the sentiments fit in the Oval punches which I think is awesome!!!!

We hope that you will join the Friday Mashup Challenge this week!  Please be sure to visit the other DT Members to see their wonderful creations!

CR84FN and Splitcoast Stampers Sketch Challenge

I have never played along with the CR84FN Challenge before.  I just LOVED the awesome colour combo and decided that I wanted to give it a try!  The Design Team inspiration is amazing!  Then I went in search of a sketch, and found an awesome one for the SCS Sketch Challenge this week!  The samples over there were inspiring too!!!

I decided to ink up another new stamp set (no, I didn't buy EVERYTHING from the new catalogue!! LOL!).  This set is called "Summer Solstice" and it was the number one set I wanted when I saw the new cattie!  I LOVE how it stamps and it is really affordable!

I used the new In Colour called "Wisteria Wonder" and used Celery and Basic Gray as the colour challenge suggested!!!  The sentiment is from " Pursuit of Happiness" again, I just LURVE that set!!!  Once again, I used my favourite French Script background stamp!!!

Thanks for stopping by!!!
