Friday Mashup Challenge-Embossed Nature

This week at the Friday Mashup Lisa is our hostess and she wants all of you to make nature inspired cards OR just make a card with some form of embossing on it, as she is a big fan of embossing also.

So here we go:

1. Make a card inspired by nature
2. Make a card with embossing on it somewhere
3. MASH it all up and create a nature card that uses embossing somewhere on it!

I made a card full of flowers and I used the Joy Fold Card and had so much fun using some scraps on my table to make it and of course, I used the old Crimper once again!!  That is my "embossed" element on my card!!!  Rather than use the Big Shot, I used the crimper!

I just crimped the top of my card card as the bottom was for writing!  I stamped the leaf on the inside too!

The big flower was punched out using the Extra Large Fancy Flower Punch.  The flower is what is holding my card front down.  The Joy Fold Card is such a great fold!!!  If you have any questions about this card or fold, please let me know!

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you get the chance to play along with the Friday Mashup Team!

Sketch Saturday #82-Birthday Wishes

It feels so good to be creative again! With my teaching job and the card classes I held, I must admit I was feeling tapped out! I decided to continue with my chocolate/pink theme (I love those colours together) and played along with this week's Sketch Saturday Challenge. The layout was a stretch for me but that is the best part about Challenges! They challenge you!
The main image is from SU!'s stamp set called Crazy for Cupcakes, I have wanted that set forever and just purchased it for myself! I used the Modern Label punch for the sentiment which is from Garden Greetings. Garden Greetings is being retired at the end of this month which is too bad because the words in that set stamp so nicely, it is one of my favourite stamp sets. I think this may be my last card posted for this year!! Maybe I will be able to squeeze in one more!!
Merry Christmas to all my blogging friends, I hope you have a restful holiday break.

Smiles,
Lesley :)

Colour Throwdown #68

These two cards were made for the Colour Throwdown #68 and they are my very first card post as a new Stampin' Up Demonstrator. I am really excited about becoming a Demo and have wanted to for awhile. Today I went for ir!

The colours to use for the CTD challenge are Crushed Curry, Real Red, Only Orange and a dark neutral. I chose to use my favourite dark neutral which is Basic Gray! I wanted to create really clean and simple cards so that the colours and the images shone through. I was also excited to ink up my new Fifth Avenue Florals set from SU! I LOVE this set!
Thanks for stopping by! Happy stamping!
Smiles,
Lesley :)
