Colour Dare #101-Certainly So Marina and CPS Sketch

Due to blogging issues last week, this challenge never went live on the CD blog, so we are reposting it this week.

This week at the Colour Dare, Riley has a really pretty colour combo of;

Marina Mist
Certainly Celery
So Saffron

I immediately thought of making a baby card but then I decided to make a card using the current CPS Sketch Challenge.  The sketch is awesome and one that would provide so many cool card creations!  I decided that little circle should be the biggest flower from the new "Flower Fest" stamp set that is available in the current Summer Mini Catalogue!

I dug up some retired SO Saffron DSP and a small piece of Pear Pizzazz which I subbed in for Celery.  The main flower was stamped three times on Whisper White CS and then I punched out the first flower with the 2 3/8" scallop circle punch and cut out the other two layers by hand!  Vicki Burdick made THIS card and she lightly coloured part of the flower, and I love the look, so I tried that here with my Bashful Blue SU! marker.  A few pearls and a punched out sentiment was all I needed to complete the card! What a fun colour combo and what a terrifc sketch!!!

We hope that you will join the Colour Dare this week!  Please be sure to visit the other DT Members to see their wonderful creations!
Thanks for stopping by!!!

Lesley

Wanna see the Prizes we have this week? This week's Rock Star will get the Mini Set of OPI's Femme De Cirque Collection:

And Holly will pick a Random Winner to receive OPI's Pirate of the Caribbean Mini Set.

The Design Team has some great inspiration to get you started check them out by clicking HERE and don't forget this week's Rock Star will be our Guest Designer for June!

My card was made with the Flower Fest set AGAIN!! Yes, I love it!  This time I used the Rose Stamp and cut them out by hand.  I could have punched them out with the 1 1/4" Circle Punch but I wanted to show the true curves to the rose.  I added a pearl to each rose and I used the crimper to crimp the paper right above and right below the sentiment.  It is hard to see in the photo but I love how the crimping highlight's the sentiment.  The sentiment comes from the "Word Play" stamp set which is on sale right now!!!

I used all recycled pieces from my scrap box to make this card!  I had the Melon Mambo piece already cut and embossed.  The black card base was left over from another card and the ribbon was also in my stash.  This is another retirement card for another secretary who is retiring at the end of June.  I thought the sentiment was fitting, "Imagine the Possibilities".  I sure could imagine them if I was retiring but I have 25 years to go!!!

Colour Dare Challenge 101

This week at the Colour Dare, Riley has cooked up a pretty palette for you to try!  She has asked us to use the feminine colours:

Regal Rose
Old Olive
Early Espresso
and a Neutral

I was trying to figure out what stamp set to use and then I decided to use my new "Flower Fest" set which goes with so many of the Stampin' Up Punches!!!  I used the 2 3/8" Scallop Circle Punch with this card and the Butterfly Punch!  I needed a card for our wonderful secretary who is retiring at the end of the school year!  We are ALL so sad to see her leave but we are happy that she is able to retire with her husband and kick up her heels and have some fun!!!

Head on over to the Colour Dare to play along with this wonderful challenge this week!!  I hope you get the chance to join us!

Friday Mashup Challenge-Embossed Nature

This week at the Friday Mashup Lisa is our hostess and she wants all of you to make nature inspired cards OR just make a card with some form of embossing on it, as she is a big fan of embossing also.

So here we go:

1. Make a card inspired by nature
2. Make a card with embossing on it somewhere
3. MASH it all up and create a nature card that uses embossing somewhere on it!

I made a card full of flowers and I used the Joy Fold Card and had so much fun using some scraps on my table to make it and of course, I used the old Crimper once again!!  That is my "embossed" element on my card!!!  Rather than use the Big Shot, I used the crimper!

I just crimped the top of my card card as the bottom was for writing!  I stamped the leaf on the inside too!

The big flower was punched out using the Extra Large Fancy Flower Punch.  The flower is what is holding my card front down.  The Joy Fold Card is such a great fold!!!  If you have any questions about this card or fold, please let me know!

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you get the chance to play along with the Friday Mashup Team!

Paper Players Challenge #45-Birds, Bees, Flowers and Trees

The challenge this week at the Paper Players is from LeAnne and is a Theme of Birds, Bees, Flowers and Trees. I went with the new Flower Fest stamp set that is available for purchase today! May 1st!  I am in LOVE with this awesome set and used the colours Poppy Parade, Peach Parfait and Pear Pizzazz.

Then I used my crimper to crimp the entire first panel of the card!  I LOVE my crimper!! You know, in the summer mini catalogue I was not "taken" with this set but now I love it! It stamps very nicely and I love that I got to use my flower punch too!!!

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you get the chance to join us this week at the Paper Players.  On a side note, the sun has been shining all weekend and I am so happy that spring is finally here!!!
