Paper Players Challenge #50-Kind Thanks

Lobster!  Yum!  Last night I was fortunate to be invited to Lobster Fest and I had a great time! There was fresh lobster, yummy summer salads and a rockin' band!  Corey and I danced, I boogied with my father-in-law Glen and tore up the floor with one of Corey's workmates!  It was really a good night!!!  The dancing helped burn off those garlic butter calories!!!

Today I have a card I would like to share that I created for the Paper Players Challenge, hosted by the lovely LeAnne.  She is challenging us to make a thank you card or project.  I decided to go Vintage with my card and used the "Elements of Style" stamp set that is one of my favourite SU! sets!!!  We are also welcoming three new Guest Designers to our team: Cindy Beach, Lauri Ingram and Sandra Appozardi. Welcome ladies!!

I used my trusty crimper to make a waffle effect on my cardstock after I stamped the floral image in Stazon and coloured my flowers with a Bashful Blue and a Marina Mist Stampin' Write Marker.  The ribbon is the Marina Mist Satin ribbon, which is being retired. I also used a Kiwi Kiss button to pick up the green leaves I coloured in the image.

My butterfly is from the "Strength and Hope" set. I stamped it in Night of Navy Ink on Bashful Blue cardstock then cut it out with my snips.  I used the sentiment from the "Bold Blossom" set and my new 2 3/8" Scallop Circle Punch.  The scallop edge punch was used to create the pretty edge on the Night of Navy Paper and I wheeled the Music Notes small wheel onto the Marina Mist card base.

We hope that you will join the Paper Players Challenge this week!  Please be sure to visit the other DT Members to see their wonderful creations!

Yippee!!! I am SO excited!!

This week at the Friday Mashup I am the challenge hostess!!  Yesss!!!  This week I have asked the team to craft in Black and White!  You should see what they created! Wow!  I found these cute teapots and thought they would be good inspiration for all you crafty people out there!  As well as the Black and White theme, we are going Square!!!

This week for our Mashup Challenge, you are welcome to:
  1. Create a Black and White Card
  2. Create a Square Card
  3. Or "Mash it up" and create a Square Black and White Card!
I decided to Mashup it up Baby!  My creation is clean and simple.  I love this stamp from the "Because I Care" Hostess Level 1 set.  It stamped beautifully in Black!  I also got out my favourite Crimping Tool and added a crimp to the black paper behind the main image...I love that crimper!

Come on over to the Friday Mashup and join us this week!!! Also, check out the eye candy from the design team! I hope my bestest blogging pals will come and play my first hostess gig at the Mashup!!!  I would love to see what you create with this challenge!  Have fun!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Lesley

PPA83 ~ Vintage CAS

All day I have had this card in my head! I was excited to ink up my new stamp set called "Nature Walk" that I received for attending the SU! Regionals!  I have been waiting patiently to get and use this set and it does not disappoint!

The Pals Paper Arts has a beautiful colour combo challenge on this week!!  My Paper Players DT "Pal" Ann Schach is on the Pals Paper Arts Team and Nance Leedy, another Paper Players "Pal" was the Guest Designer Pal over at Pals Paper Arts!! LOL!  Man, that was a mouthful!!!  Hehehe!  So I had to play along to support them both!!!

Here is how I created my card:
  1. The card base was created to be an A2 Sixe (4 1/4" x 5 1"2) and made out of Naturals Ivory Cardstock
  2. The first layer is a piece of 4"x 4 3/4" piece of Crumb Cake Cardstock that I sponged with Soft Suede Ink and embossed with my Texturzed Plate.  Then I cut a small piece of Soft Suede Cardstock and punched it with the Scallop Edge Punch and added that to one end of the card.
  3. Then I cut two 3"x 3" squares-one in Baja Breeze and one in Naturals Ivory
  4. I sponged both pieces with Soft Suede Ink and then stamped my images in Soft Suede Ink.  I coloured the little flowers with a blender pen and some Baja Breeze Ink. I used my crimper on the Baja Breeze piece.
  5. The sentiment comes from the "Because I Care" Hostess Level 1 set in the Main Catalogue
  6. I inked it up in Suede on a half piece of Naturals Ivory, punched out with the Designer Label Punch
  7. To add to the natural feel of the card, I added some Linen Thread, tying it around the entire card twice and then making a bow with the excess strands.

I also added some stamping to the inside of the card, to finish it off.  Now I have a Thank you card all ready to go!!  There is still some time to join in on the challenge at the Pals Paper Arts!  Thanks for stopping by and if you have any questions, please visit my profile at the top of the page and email me. Or leave me a comment!! I would love to hear from you!
