Just Add Ink and CAS-ual Fridays

Today at Just Add Ink, they are hosting a wonderful sketch challenge!  The CAS-ual Friday Challenge blog is asking us to Just Add Colour. I loved the simple layout and decided to play with a Pink Cat digital stamp from my stash.

I love this little Dino.  So I inked him up with my Copics and cut him out carefully.  Then, using my deckled rectangle nestabilities, I framed him for the centre of the card and popped him up on dimensionals. I used the Rectangle shape instead of the Oval

This little Dino is having a yummy “bite” of cake! I love it, this is how I want to eat cake but I try to restrain myself! LOL!  I wanted the sentiment to reflect that a person SHOULD eat cake and have some fun on their birthday too.  So I stamped this…”It’s YOUR day…ENJOY!”
Be sure to visit the gals at the Just Add Ink and CAS-ual Friday Challenge blogs to play along this week! I am so happy you stopped by!

Stamping 411 and Colour Q

Happy Sunday everyone! I hope you are enjoying your weekend.  I have been stamping up a storm tonight, I wanted to make some special little cards for friends and family.  I was looking for inspiration when I found the Colour Q Challenge and the Stamping 411 Sketch.

I made a birthday card for my sister in law, a "For You" card for a work colleague, a simple "hello" card and a "Because I Care" for a friend.

Thanks for stopping by! Any questions, please leave me a comment and I will answer them for you if I can.

Friday Mashup #9-Cards for Kids

Happy Friday everyone! Life has been busier than usual, with work and family!  Summer is fast approaching and I have been enjoying the nice weather, although the past two days have been rain-filled, this weekend promises to be sunny and warm!  I will spend the weekend, working on cards...REPORT cards!  LOL!  I have a few to write but I hope to squeeze in some stamping too!

Today is Friday Mashup Day and it is my turn to host!  I chose a fun photo that I found online and loved the primary colours!  Those colours made me think of cards for kids and so my Mashup Idea was born!!!

This week for the Mashup Challenge, you are welcome to:
       1. Create a Kid Themed project.
       2. Create a project using just the Color Combo.
       3. Or "Mash it Up!" and create a Kid project that uses the Color Combo!

I decided to create a Kid Themed project with my new sets called "Summer Splash"! This fun little set has a lot of great images, perfect for cards for kids! I love the sweet little Octopus!

This is a fairly simple card, made with Concord Crush DSP and Cardstock.  I went Monotone with my project this week but this fabulous set is perfect for bright and cheerful colours!!!

Come on by the Mashup this week and join us!
Thanks for stopping by!

Lesley

Friday Mashup #4- Let's Get Punchy "Baby"

This week at the Friday Mashup, Kim is challenging us to get Punchy Baby!  Everyone else on the team created ADORABLE baby cards, but I decided to just get punchy for this challenge!

This week at the Mashup, we hope you will try one of these three options:
  1. Create a card with punches (like me)
  2. Create a baby card
  3. Create a baby card using punches
Today I decided to create a card with Punches and was inspired by fellow Canadian and fellow BC'er, Carrie Gaskin aka the Artistic Avenger.  I wonder if she is cheering on the Canucks too!!?  Anyways, back to the card!!  She used the Cupcake Punch in a new way which was to create a purse. I loved this idea and have stored it away in my brain for another day!  (Click HERE to see Carrie's Purse Card) Well the time has come and I made a little purse themed card for a friend!

I hope you will come and join us at the Friday Mashup!  Thank you to all my blogging pals who joined me last week in my Black and White challenge, I loved all of your creations!!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Paper Players Challenge #44- A Sketch from Me

Happy Easter everyone!  It is Sunday and time for another Paper Players Challenge!  This week I am the challenge hostess and have designed a sketch!

I was very excited to receive my Stampin' Up Pre-Order on Wednesday night!  I broke open the set called "Fabulous Florets" and went to work!  I absolutely LOVE it!!  It is a "fabulous" set that will be available May 1st!  I got out my Paper Snips and cut out the flower and popped it up on dimensionals!

I am on a new colour kick!  I absolutely love Peach Parfait and have used it on my card today!  My colours are Peach Parfait, Pear Pizazz and Not Quite Navy.  That ribbon is retired, it was from my first stamping year! LOL!  The Colour is called Blue Bayou and it was on of my most favourite In Colours that Stampin' Up has offered!  I cleaned up my ribbon stash this weekend and decided to use this ribbon on my card!

I also needed to make a birthday card for a dear friend who is celebrating her birthday in a couple of days!  This card won't get to her in time but I am sending it off to her to let her know that I am celebrating with her, even though we are far apart!

I used the En Francais Background Stamp in Peach Parfait ink on Peach Parfait Paper!  I love how it looks!  I also used my Modern Label punch for the side of my card and yep, I finished off the inside too!  I love doing that!

Thank you so much for stopping by!  I hope you will get the opportunity to join us this week at the Paper Players!  Please let me know if you have any questions about my card!  I also want to thank all my blogging friends for your supportive comments over the last couple of weeks!  I appreciated ever single one!

Hugs!

Card Club Projects and new Club starting in April

I just had my card club this week!  I meet once a month with a fabulous group of ladies...we have fun and usually make two projects that they get to keep!  This month I was showing them the "Growing Green" stamp set which I LOVE!!!

We made two simple cards, showing how easy it is to make a Clean and Simple card quickly, if you need one for a special occasion but are short on time!  Birthdays are always a popular card to have on hand!  We also did the technique of stamping colour on colour...so we used Certainly Celery Ink on Certainly Celery Paper.  I love that look!!  It is hard to see in my bright photo but we stamped the smaller flowers from ths set right over the large flower.  The colours we used were: Melon Mambo, Pretty In Pink and Certainly Celery.  We also completed the inside the same way.

For our second card, we used "Mr. Big" aka the Big Shot and embossed the whole front panel of the card front with the Finial Press Embossing Folder.  Then we stamped the main flower in Melon Mambo onto Pink Pirouette Paper! I love that look too!

Thanks ladies for another fun club!  I have a new Card Club starting in April.  We have room for 3 more ladies.  We will meet April, May and June.  Then take the summer off!  Then we will meet up again for September, October and November.  If you are interested in joining our Crafty Croghan Card Club or if you have any questions about the Club, please email me by clicking HERE and then leaving me a message.

Pals Paper Arts Colour Challenge

Pals Paper Arts is having a colour challenge this week!  Click HERE to see the challenge.

I missed last week's deadline with the Masculine KISS card and so I made sure I completed my project on time this week!  I wanted to make something extra special for a friend.  I made this cute card purse I found the instructions for on Splitcoast Stampers.  You can find the instructions HERE.

After figuring it out, the card purse was really easy to make and I liked the way it turned out.  I created two matching cards to fit inside the purse and I added two envelopes.  I think a couple of treats will fit in there too!  Unfortunately I don't have the colour Daffodil Delight yet, so I subbed in So Saffron.

Thanks for stopping by!

Party Time Tuesdays

I found a new challenge blog called "Party Time Tuesdays" and they were looking for a summer birthday card.  August is a big month full of birthdays and so I decided to create a few different cards with the same layout and bright coloured paper.  The only thing left to do is to add some glitter to my cupcakes, I usually add the glitter just before I use a card, so the glitter is fresh and sparkly...

These are really Clean and Simple.  I love the Melon Mambo DSP...it is one of my favs for sure!  This stamp set is also a favourite of mine...I love the cupcakes...

Thanks for stopping by!
Smiles,
Lesley :)
