Paper Players Challenge #70 {Anything Goes Fall} and BLOG CANDY!!!

This week at the Paper Players we have an "Fall Themed Anything Goes Challenge" for you!.  I have BLOG CANDY at the end of this post!!! Be sure to enter for it!

I decided to showcase the set called "Creative Elements". This one is a pretty set with a flower that looks like a mum to me. I decided to create a Fall coloured card, with a vibrant Cherry Cobbler Mum as the main focal point.

Here is a closeup of my card! Notice that I stamped my Textured Crumb Cake Paper with the En Francais background stamp and then stamped the swirl from "Creative Elements" in Soft Suede right over top. Then I coloured in the swirl with my Crumb Cake Marker.  Everything is sponged with Crumb Cake or Soft Suede ink.

I used my Scallops #2 die for the centre of the card and used my mat pack and paper piecer to make holes in the scallops.  The butterfly is stamped in Early Espresso Ink onto Very Vanilla Paper, then I fussy cut it out and hightlighted it with some pearls.  Yes that piece in behind the scallop circle is crimped! Oh how I love my Crimper!

Picture Perfect Creations #60-For Auntie Nern

This week at Picture Perfect Creations we have a pretty colour combo for you to try!  It is soft and delightful!!  The best part is the chance to use Elegant Eggplant, I just love that pretty colour!

I decided to ink up Nature Walk set and En Francais, two of my favourites!  I wanted the background of the card to be subtle so the butterflies popped!  I used my Stampin' Write markers in Blushing Bride and Pear Pizzazz to ink up the floral image.  The butterflies are actually stamped in Concord Crush by mistake!  Argh!!  I had both purples on my desk and grabbed the wrong one!!!  Only I could do that!!

This is for my Auntie Nern who had a pacemaker put in on Tuesday.  She is doing very well and I am happy to say she is on the mend.  We think this pacemaker is going to make her feel so much better.

Thank you so much for stoppping by!  I hope you get the chance to head over to the PPC Challenge Blog to play along with us this week!!!

Lesley

Sketchbook Saturday and Try Stampin' on Tuesday

I wanted to make a set of four cards for a class I am offering.  I went looking for some inspiration and found two lovely sketches.  One at the Sketchbook Saturday Challenge Site and one at Try Stamping on Tuesday.

For the Sketchbook Saturday sketch I created this card:

For the Try Stampin' on Tuesday challenge I created this card, I just switched the sketch around and went long with my card.

Both of these challenges helped me create some cards for a group of cards I was trying to make.  I tried to upload the actually sketch designs but for some reason tonight, blogger wouldn't let me!

Here is the completed set of cards!  I used the current Just Add Ink colours for all the cards too!!

 Thanks for stopping by!

Stampin' Royalty, Just Add Ink and Sketch Book Saturday

Happy St. Patty's Day everyone!  The day has flown by!  Corey and I enjoyed our Anniversary as best we could...he was at work late!  But we ordered in some nummy Chinese Food and watched a movie together...it was nice...just to sit and relax together!

Thank you to all my blogging friends for your anniversary wishes...we appreciated them!

Tonight I wanted to make one last card before I headed off to sleep and was inspired by these 3 challenges:
  1. Just Add Ink-Colours ~ Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive, Whisper White and Crumb Cake
  2. Stampin' Royalty- Texturize-I used my crimper for something different!

Edit:  I was so inspired by the colours that I came up with a whole "group" of cards!

PPA83 ~ Vintage CAS

All day I have had this card in my head! I was excited to ink up my new stamp set called "Nature Walk" that I received for attending the SU! Regionals!  I have been waiting patiently to get and use this set and it does not disappoint!

The Pals Paper Arts has a beautiful colour combo challenge on this week!!  My Paper Players DT "Pal" Ann Schach is on the Pals Paper Arts Team and Nance Leedy, another Paper Players "Pal" was the Guest Designer Pal over at Pals Paper Arts!! LOL!  Man, that was a mouthful!!!  Hehehe!  So I had to play along to support them both!!!

Here is how I created my card:
  1. The card base was created to be an A2 Sixe (4 1/4" x 5 1"2) and made out of Naturals Ivory Cardstock
  2. The first layer is a piece of 4"x 4 3/4" piece of Crumb Cake Cardstock that I sponged with Soft Suede Ink and embossed with my Texturzed Plate.  Then I cut a small piece of Soft Suede Cardstock and punched it with the Scallop Edge Punch and added that to one end of the card.
  3. Then I cut two 3"x 3" squares-one in Baja Breeze and one in Naturals Ivory
  4. I sponged both pieces with Soft Suede Ink and then stamped my images in Soft Suede Ink.  I coloured the little flowers with a blender pen and some Baja Breeze Ink. I used my crimper on the Baja Breeze piece.
  5. The sentiment comes from the "Because I Care" Hostess Level 1 set in the Main Catalogue
  6. I inked it up in Suede on a half piece of Naturals Ivory, punched out with the Designer Label Punch
  7. To add to the natural feel of the card, I added some Linen Thread, tying it around the entire card twice and then making a bow with the excess strands.

I also added some stamping to the inside of the card, to finish it off.  Now I have a Thank you card all ready to go!!  There is still some time to join in on the challenge at the Pals Paper Arts!  Thanks for stopping by and if you have any questions, please visit my profile at the top of the page and email me. Or leave me a comment!! I would love to hear from you!

Smiles,
Lesley
