ABOUT
By cdbaby
Writing songs since sixth grade, for Robbie Jones, this Cd has come full circle. Inspired by his "Good hearted woman loving a good timing man" parents upbringing, music was a natural fit. Having played in talent shows, the school band, and pig pickin's growing up, gave him a little taste of the joy, performing music could bring. Then in the late nineties, a friend ask if he would like to join a band. What was suppose to be one gig, turn into a way of life. That's right Robbie Jones became a "weekend warrior". Playing in several different cover bands,in eastern North Carolina, he finally formed a band called "Color Blind". Being the only white member in the group, he set out, on a mission, to prove with his bandmates that music doesn't have a color. This new band played everything! From Prince to David Allan Coe, From The Stones to Sam Cooke. This band was an instant success! While carring out this mission, he also became a Disc Jockey. But something was missing. Originality. Playing someone elses music either with an instrument or a cd player wasn't enough. That's when he decided to approach his life long friend, and classmate, Rodney Priester about making a cd. Rodney, having just opened a new studio, felt the time was right. Twelve tracks and a couple of years later, Country Funk was ready for the masses.
