About the band:
by cdbaby
Arnesen Blues Band is basically a quintet. Bass, drums, piano, organ and myself on guitar and vocal.
Sometimes, when space or finance is short, we do gigs as a quartet.
The combination piano/organ gives you a big sound, more soloists and the possibility to arrange music towards different directions such as jazz, touch of gospel, rock, big band-feel, in order to vary the realms of blues music.
I love listening to Skip James, Elmore, Muddy and others although when I play I like to do it sometimes more modern.

Thomas Arnesen:
My first instrument was the piano which I began study at the age of four.
At thirteen I bought my first guitar ( 10 dollars) and began exploring the neck in search for harmonies. Since my parents where more into Mozart, they didn't grant me lessons beside the piano, so it was down to trial and error. I didn't mind actually, played a little boogie as well. Besides, the keyboard is good to know if you're into western music.
Eventually the guitar got me to Stockholm and the music conservatory.
