C4C 361 Strawberry Challenge Crd

Good morning friends

It's Saturday so that means a new challenge at the Crazy 4 Challenges Blog, and since it's a new month we also have a new Hostess! Our November 2016 Hostess is Maryann Einam and our Guest Designer is Doreen O'Brien from Doreen's Dream.

Maryann's challenge is:  Who resist fresh fruit that is in season, for me it is strawberries, so add some to your card. You don't like strawberries, just add you favorite fruit.

My knees had been really painful and filled with fluid so not working that well at all. I needed to do things that required little walking so I went through my bin of stamped, die cut and Cricut cut embellishments. Haven't looked in that bin since we moved and that was over two years ago! Found lots of fun goodies I look forward to creating with in the near future. One was a couple of these Cricut cut barrels, all inked and assembled and ready to go. Perfect timing for Maryann's challenge!

I chose a Centre Step card and some strawberry stamps & dies that I got when I belonged to the Stamps Of Life Die Hard club. I only used them once or twice so the challenge also worked for me trying to use some of my older products as well. The cute little fence? It's a Sizzix original die that I've had almost since I got my first Big Shot and it still makes me happy.

A little hand lettering inside and my card is ready for my Mother in Law's upcoming birthday.

Check out the C4C blog to see how the Crazies have been inspired by the challenge. We'd  love to see your take on it, so be sure to stop by the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and link up your creations. If you are uploading to an online gallery, please use the keyword C4C361.

Wobbly Turkey Thanksgiving Card

Good morning friends

I've had this turkey stamp for quite a while, and finally decided to use it. It's pretty large though ... so after it was stamped and die cut it sat on my stamping table a few weeks until I decided what to DO with it.

Finally, I added it to this scalloped card with an Action Wobble along with a word balloon. The beak and eyes are glossy because I went over them with a Glaze pen. Even though the turkey is so large, being on the Action Wobble gives him some character and I'm much happier with the card than I would have been otherwise.

Inside I did some hand lettering and stamped the tiny turkey from the same set.

Supplies:
Brown card stock
Cream card stock
Scalloped Card - Sizzix
Turkey and word stamps - Stamps of Life
Glaze Pen
Patterned paper (for the turkey) - K & Company
Action Wobble
Word Bubble die - Stampin' Up
Markers
Card size - Standard A2

Sympathy Pull Card

Good morning friends

It's Flip-It Friday here on my blog, and I have another Spiral Circle Pull Card to share today using a purchased brown patterned A2 card.

You simply put the alignment nubs on the centre score line with the card front on the right and the card back on the left. This will give you a 5-1/2" square card, but one edge can be trimmed by 1/2" to give you a 5 x 5-12" card that will fit into a 5 x 7' envelope.

The notches keep the card in the closed position to prevent an accidental reveal - and below is how the card looks when it's pulled open at the sides.

I added some chipboard embellishments from my stash, as well as 3-d stickers that were leftover from a different project. The words were stamped on a stitched circle.

Supplies:
Patterned A2 card - Michaels
Chipboard embellishments - Michaels
3-d stickers - K & Company
Stitched circle - My Favorite Things
Stamp - The Stamps of Life
Cream card stock
Spiral Circle Pull Card, Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
Glitter Dots - Elizabeth Craft Designs

Card size - 5-1/2" square

Candle Birthday Flip-It Card

Good morning friends

I wanted to add another birthday card to the gift package I'm getting ready for my Dental Hygienist ... Anne always takes such good care of me - and has for almost 20 years. I like to bring her a little package of cards as a thank-you and they are always appreciated.

For Flip-It Friday here on my blog, I decided to make this one a Flip-It Card combining a couple of Sizzix sets.

When I find I've been making lots of detailed cards that take a bit longer, I like to turn to the Pull Cards by Karen Burniston, or the Flip-It's by Stephanie Barnard. They make fun interactive cards without a lot of fuss. That helps me to 're-group' and still make cards I'm happy with.

Supplies
White card stock
Circle Flip-its #4 - Sizzix
Candle die and word stamps - The Stamps of Life
Stickles
Happy Birthday die - 5x7 Flip-its - Sizzix
Fine Point Tweezers - Elizabeth Craft Designs
Clock & Gears (lg circle), Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
Sizzix double sided adhesive

Card size - A2

Roses Thinking of You Card Duo

Good morning friends

My Mom had asked for some Thinking of You cards, so I came up with these two. I like the look of cutting the shadow layer from the card front and layering the word layer inside the card. Then it's visible from the front AND when you open the card.

I had some of this glossy roses print paper leftover so used it along with some red card stock.

For the second card, I wanted to use the shadow layer cut from the first card so cut a second 'thinking of you' from red card stock and adhered it to the shadow layer then to the stitched panel. There was enough of the roses patterned paper to die cut a cup from the Cup Pop Stand (Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs). I cut a second cup from white fun foam (because that is what I had) and went around the edges with a red Sharpie marker. I like the 'shadow' effect it gave the cup. A few 'splashes' from Joset's Ice Cream Cone and my card was finished.

Supplies:
Patterned paper - Scrapbook Customs
Blueprints #24 - My Favorite Things
Thinking of you - The Stamps of Life
Red card stock
White card stock
Clear Double Sided Adhesive, 6" width - Elizabeth Craft Designs
Cup Pop Stand (cup), Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
Ice Cream Cone (drips) - Elizabeth Craft Designs
1167 Peel-Off Border - Elizabeth Craft Designs
Fun foam
Red Sharpie
Butterfly punch - Stampin' Up

C4C 346 - Picnic Connection

Good morning friends

It's Saturday and that means a new challenge at the Crazy 4 Challenges Blog.  Our hostess for July is Joanne Grzelak and the Guest Designer is Alexis Crossland-Smith Scrappin’ Sistah
Here is Joanne's challenge this week:  July is National Hot Dog Month, probably due to the number of picnics that occur at this time of year. Let’s have a picnic ‘connection’ on our cards this week.

I have had these stickers in my stash for a couple of years so this challenge was the perfect time to use them The gems fell off the stickers where the BBQ controls would be ... so I added some glitter dots instead.

The card base is the Hanging Charm Pull Tab by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs. It folds completely flat for mailing ...

... and when you pull the tab the BBQ stands up for display and reveals the stamped greeting.

Usually I make cards for specific people, but I didn't have anyone in mind when I made this card. So the back of the card was left blank and that way I can add what I want when I go to send the card.

Check out the C4C blog to see how the Crazies have been inspired by the challenge. We'd sure love to see your take on it, so be sure to stop by the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and link up your creations. If you are uploading to an online gallery, please use the keyword C4C346.

Supplies:
Hanging Charm Pull Tab, Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)

Stitched circle - My Favorite Things
Black card stock

Lily Sympathy Pull Card

Good morning friends

Today's share is a sympathy card - never fun ones to make but it's nice that I can be thinking of the family all while I'm making their card.

One of the great things about the Pop it Ups dies, is that you get to decide on the size of the card. Since I was using a Big Shot Pro, I was able to make a larger 5 x 7" card with the Rectangle Pull Card. I have been steering away from A2 cards the last little while - larger cards just feel so much more substantial.

The lily panel was fussy cut from a sheet of patterned paper and I added some glitter glue to the petals. The Pull Card Edges allow you to cut a mat around the left edge of the pull card and again - you get to decide on the size you want.

The notch holds the card in the closed position (love that) until the recipient pulls the sides to open and reveal the inside.

Supplies:
Rectangle Pull Card, Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
Pull Card Edges, Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
Rectangle Accordion (rectangle), Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
Jewels 1 - Elizabeth Craft Designs
Stitched Rectangles - Elizabeth Craft Designs
Patterned paper - Authentique and Momenta
White card stock
Stickles
Stamps - The Stamps of Life
Butterfly dies - Impression Obsession

Card size - 5 x 7"

Easter Chick Pop-Up Card

Good morning friends

I still have some Easter cards to share so here is a Pop-Up Chick Easter card. Remember when I said I had purchased some new Easter stamps? Well this little chick set is one of them - I think it's so cute!

I made it a Pop-Up using the Pop-Up platform that comes with the Barrel/Basket die by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs. It was so quick and easy to cut the little platform for the chick  to attach to.

The words and Jelly Beans are in the same set as the chick and I used some of that fun striped paper on the card as well.

Supplies:
Patterned paper - Echo Park
Basket/Barrel Pop-Up - Pop it Ups -  Karen Burniston - Elizabeth Craft Designs
White card stock
Stitched border - My Favourite Things
Coloured Pencils - Tri Tone, Koh I Noor
Stamps - Stamps of Life
Stickles

Card size - 4-1/4"

C4C326 -Umbrella HCPT

Good morning friends

It's Saturday, and that means a new challenge on the Crazy4Challenges Blog.

Being a brand new month it is time to introduce our hostess which is Frances Byrne. Our Guest Designer for March is Sandy Diller, I am sure you will enjoy seeing her creations this month.

Did you know that March was National Umbrella Month. This marvelous invention which helps prevent us from getting wet on those rainy days or can keep us sheltered from that sun was invented over four thousand years ago … wow!  Let's celebrate the umbrella this week by including one on our cards this week … it could be an umbrella to stop the rain, parasol or beach umbrella.

I am not crazy about the colours on my card - but I guess that happens sometimes. I didn't know whether to throw it in the trash or keep going, so I went going. I used the Hanging Charm Pull Tab card by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs, and and some rain themed paper from my stash. Here is the card in the closed position, ready to pop in the envelope.

I clear embossed the umbrella for a realistic look.

When you pull on the tab, the framed umbrella slides up and reveals the message underneath.

Since this card (6 x 4-1/2") is a flat postcard type card, I like to decorate the back as well.

Check out the C4C blog to see how the Crazies have been inspired by the challenge. We'd sure love to see your take on it, so be sure to stop by the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and link up your creations. If you are uploading to an online gallery, please use the keyword C4C326.

White card stock

Umbrella (fussy cut) - The Stamps of Life

Clear embossing powder
Coloured pencils
