Two note pad folders

Happy Mondy to all, It's Libeeti here, and today I'd like to show you 2 new note pad holder I've made as a birthday gifts to two of my colleagues at work.
I've builed the folders from scratch - chipboards covered with efalin paper (which is a perfect paper for bookbinding, better than cardstock!).
I then decorated the covers with beautiful papers from Nightfall collection.
On the inside part there's a place for the note pad, and it's back is holded by a band. On the other side I've made a pocket to hold important notes, and above there's a paper clip, also covered with pp, with some beautiful cut apart papers.
That's how the folders look inside:

And here're some close-ups on the details:

Keen on Green with Altair Art papers

Hello All,

Almost late with my first layout of the month.  Do you have some creative moments when the design just takes a little longer to finish than others?  Well, this layout was one of those for me and then having a deadline coming down on me causes pressure which is not good for creativity.  I think the message in there is to get my act together earlier - it is just that life is so busy all the time these days and I do not get that considering I live out in rural Australia!

So, this layout I used one of the new Christmas papers as I really wanted to utilise the green of the paper as the photo I am going to put in this layout is one of a child peaking through some leaves and flowers.

To create the photo matte, I used a variety of Altair Art paper scraps from all my various layouts.  I then dug through my die cut pieces and found these groovy squiggles from ScrapFX to use coming out from the image and built on those with flowers and a few other pieces.

Hope you like it, I really do and I cannot wait to put the pic in it when my daughter finally gives it to me!  Enjoy all.  See you later in the month.

Getting a wee bit Christmassy with AltairArt papers!

Hello All,

So, Altair Art have released their range of Christmas papers and ephemera and they are very lovely papers with some wonderful deep, rich colouring.  It is almost hard to cover them up with decorations.

I did two Christmas layouts for this month, so here is the first for your enjoyment.

This was a pretty layout to work on and I enjoyed my time working on it very much.  I fussy cut all the ephemera out supplied with the Altair Art papers and some I wet down and then scrunched up and dried as you can see to the top right of the white picture area.  Creating a base on the photo matt with cardboard and then mounting this upon 2 straws, I then built up around the outside with various pieces of ephemera, some also from Kaisercraft, plus a piece of Dusty Attic chipboard until finished.

I know it is Christmas early, but you need to get in and have your papers ready as it is not really that far away ...

I will be back on the 16th with a more of a blue layout, but still with the Christmas theme.

Wedding papers - new from Altair Art

My second scrapbooking layout for this month is a beautiful pink and gold piece created on the new Altair Art wedding range of papers called "The Beautiful Moments", along with a beautiful piece of chipboard from Dusty Attic and ephemera as provided in the paper pack.  The papers have a beautiful golden cream colour to them, but I did pink them up!

That is it for me this month, may you find some time to be creative before the month is over.

Kindest wishes always, Delia

The Sky is the Limit!!

No truer statement when it comes to creativity, we are only limited by our own imagination!  Isn't that what makes being creative so much fun??  I cannot create when I am under pressure, the stress simply blocks my creative spirit and it is useless trying to push through.  I cut my deadline close once more this month as I thought I had a bit more time up my sleeve than I did since I got a morning drive sprung on me late last night.  Despite getting up in the dark hours of the morning to complete, time just always seems to get away on me.

I used the Tear in rain vol 2 - Everloving as my background paper and then used Sunrise 03 as my main ripped paper strip down the page.  The colouring throughout this range of paper is just so pretty and gives you lots to work with.  I also love the grey grunginess of the background paper range that I used as well.  A little bit of stencilling and colouring, plus some layering and flowering and all done.

Enjoy all, I hope your month goes wonderfully.

smiles,

Delia

Spring has Sprung with AltairArt papers in my creative space

Hi all.  This little black duck has been having massive fun playing with her generous paper packs I get to design with from AltairArt.  The EverDream collection is full of so many gorgeous elements to play with.  Then there is the colouring in the papers with the purple, blue and the green as the base.  Just too pretty for words really.  So, I shall shhhhh and just show you my work.  As you will see, I have been having much enjoyment.  After moving, it has been rather superb to get back into being creative, albeit at 5am, just so I can find the time in each day.

Ok, so first up is my piece using a large chipboard frame that is from no one important as it was over ebay, but I finally decided to start using some of my chipboard pieces instead of just collecting them! Ha.  Using a Kaisercraft stencil, I used white embossing paste and applied that to the background and then used some sprays lightly over the top.  I cut out the beautiful flower panel off the EverDream01 sheet of paper and inked the edges and lay that across the bottom of my main page.  I then got the chipboard frame and embossed it as shown, plus I got another swirly piece of chipboard and embossed it in pink.

After that, it was time for some fussy cutting and time to get out the Sizzix machine and press out some leaves and the dreamcatcher.  I was going to use the dreamcatcher that is a part of the paper set, but I simply preferred the die cut one and used that.  Use of some of the tags with some ribbon makes for a really lovely embellishment.  A few pieces of ephemera and some bling and it is complete.  So many lovely elements.

So, I did two this time as I was enjoying these colours so much.  Below is my second layout, where I tried to grunge things up a bit and started stencilling with copper, silver and ?? with a few different stencil patterns.  Then let the layering begin and so the design was for a smaller photo.  My base paper was from the "Tears in the rain Vol. 2" collection and the remainder is all from the very gorgeous EverDream collection.

2ND LAYOUT

So this time I wanted to grunge it up a bit and so I turned to the blackish toned paper as part of the design and picked up the Lift me up design from the Tears in the Rain Vol 2 collection.  Definitely the perfect piece for my background.  As always I cover the paper with clear gesso to start as there will certainly be a few layers of texture to go on from here.  I then used a few different stencils and different texture pastes that I used and then some splatters from some sprays - not too much though!  I once again dipped into my chipboard stash and found a nice border piece which I then used some green embossing powders on and the purple ones I painted with Viva Gold inks.  A bit of fussy cutting and die cutting with the Sizzix machine and I have most of the ephemera I need.  A few more pieces were found in my vast stash of mostly Kaisercraft elements from years gone by!  I am sure we all have an ever growing stash of ephemera ... don't we?

The beautiful thing about AltairArt papers is that there are lots of additional pieces of ephemera supplied, ready to be fussy cut and used in your layouts.  Out came the flowers and they were mixed in with my other decorative pieces, little pieces of bling here and there and then the final touch of micro beads and flakes and things and all done, oh, except for the inking of the edges in black of the entire page.

I just love this layout and am seriously enjoying these papers.  Have a lovely week all and see you next time.

smiles,
