Hey Honey Tri Fold Card

Today I'm playing along at Creative Creases where they want you to try making a card with a fun fold - no flat cards here! I seem to resist fancy folds because they always seem so complicated to me. I can't say that anymore since I'm finding more and more die cuts made specifically to make this easy!

The Pink and Main Hexagon Flip Card die set made this easel card very simple to make. I just cut a sheet of 8.5 x 11" paper in half and then cut border from the edge of one end of the panel.

I added a layered hexagon cut to the half of the panel I left in place. The remaining dies are for embellishing your folded card. The set even includes that cute honeybee die and some smaller hexagon cuts.

The finishing touch was a sprinkle of sparkly glitter enamel dots and a simple sentiment. I took a few extra photos so you can see how the card folds.

I hope you find some time to play! It's always rewarding trying something new, and it takes away some of the anxiety about trying something new next time.

Waffle Flower August Release and Giveaway!

Sweet Summer! The latest Waffle Flower Release is available today! To celebrate we're having lots of giveaways on Instagram! We're calling this release Summer Afternoon because it brings together a mix of styles from fluttering butterflies to tropical blooms.

  

I chose this card for release day because I think it captures so many good things from this release including new Ink Swatch Labels and Nesting Piercing Tags. I didn't think it would be too exciting to post a bunch of tags, but maybe on a card?

This gives you a good idea of how you can create your own swatch tags, and some of the different die configurations for your tags. You can make tags that include your favorite color blends, an inventory of your cardstock stash. inks, watercolors and other media.

I added Mix-n-Match Butterflies because I think these are really innovative. You can make loads of different butterflies by just switching the wings and their orientation.

A little hibiscus was added as a nod to the tropical aspect of this release, and finally a "Paper Hugs" sentiment from a previous release. And don't forget some candy dots! They make everything better!

Waffle Flower August Release Sneak Peeks Day 2

It's Day 2 of the sneak peeks of the latest Waffle Flower Release. We're calling this release Summer Afternoon because it includes a mix of style from fluttering butterflies to tropical blooms!

Today we're going tropical! My card features the new Hibiscus Cluster Die! You can color it yourself with your favorite media or use the coordinating Hibiscus Cluster Stencil set! My son gifts me a Hibiscus plant every Mother's Day and I think these are just as pretty and Bonus.. I can ink them any color I like!

That amazing background is new too! These are two separate and completely stackable A2 size dies. The pierced layer is the Quatrefoil Texture die and is topped here with the outline in white called Quatrefoil Panel die.

The sentiment is a mixed font "Sending Hugs" from the Butterfly Trio stamp set. I'm in awe at the clean cuts around the letters that are more detailed than I'm used to seeing.

Waffle Flower August Release Sneak Peeks Day 1

Thanks for stopping by! It's a great day for a visit because sneak peeks of the latest Waffle Flower release begin today. We're calling this release Summer Afternoon because it brings together a mix of styles from fluttering butterflies to tropical blooms!

My cards today started with the cute Mix n Match Butterflies die. It includes butterfly wings that you can mix and match to create your own unique butterflies. If you look close you'll see the textured lines and piercings on the layers I chose.

The sentiment is the new Vintage Label - it's available as a solid die like I used where your ink colors the majority of the design or as an outline stamp where you would ink the parts that look white on my design.

I inked the new Cloudy Skies stencil in the same colors as the butterflies to tie the design together. The cloud stencil has four different edges that you can turn and ink for each color without having to wash it in between the colors.

The finishing touch was a sprinkle of shiny enamel dots to add a little bling to the design.

All You Need Is Love

Thanks for stopping by! I hope life is good in your little corner of the world. Today I'm sharing a card made with the Love Is Kind Collection. This is the latest release from Pretty Little Studio and it's my new favorite!

This collection has all the extras you've come to expect, but you'll also find some new here! Like the die cut journaling card I used on my card today. It's printed on one side and plain white on the other with the die cut word LOVE! I added pattern paper underneath so the letters look pieced.

I added a die cut border along the left edge of the card and a sentiment tab along the top. Double stacked butterflies and an affectionate sentiment complete the theme.

I really love the papers in this collection. Many of them look pieced but are actually printed with several patterns on each so it gives the look of a fussy pieced card when it's actually printed that way.

I hope you stop by the store and explore this new collection. I think you'll be glad you did because it's gorgeous!

Hugs for Today

Today I'm playing along with the Triple B Challenge where its Birds, Butterflies or Blooms. You don't have to do all three. I'm missing the birds, but that's ok.

My card today is made with the Butterfly Blossom Texture die from Waffle Flower. You just cut the die and then color it with the coordinating stencil set.

The layered stencil adds dimension to the design when you add darker layers.

I adhered the big die cut to a white card panel and then just added a stamped, die cut sentiment from the Paper Hugs set. I used adhesive foam tape to add a little dimension. The finishing touch was a few candy dot enamels.
