Sending you a little cozy today! I don't know about you but it's getting chilly here! Have you seen the Tiny Square Texture cover plate from Waffle Flower? It's meant to look like a panel sewn quilted panels.

There are a few different stencil images that are coordinated to work perfectly on the panel including a floral, a geometric design and these Patchwork Cats.

To tie in with the stitched theme I added some twine, a button and a punny "piecing" sentiment from the Quilted Hug Sentiment stamp set.

I've never learned how to sew or quilt and am a little envious of cards I see with actual stitching on them. This quilted texture plate gives me a little sense of satisfaction with my faux stitched kitties!

Beautiful Day

Today I'm playing at the Mix It Up Challenge blog! This month is Anything Goes with an optional CAS (Clean and Simple) so no excuses for not playing!

I love the simplicity of this design. I used the Postage Collage Coloring Stencil from Waffle Flower to create a simple Distress Ink blended background for each window.

Next I stamped images with Versafine Onyx Black using the Postage Collage Sunset Lake stamp set. The black ink creates silhouettes of the stamped images of marsh and waterfowl.

Finally I covered the images with the Postage Collage Blocks die cut frame cut from white cardstock. I stamped a simple sentiment directly on the frame and added a pierced solid aqua blue cardstock panel behind the windows to add a little more color.

This one has me wanting to take a walk at the local forest preserve to see what I can see! Have a great day!

North Pole Air Mail

Today I'm playing along at Cards 4 Galz where this time it's Build Me a Snowman! I know you all have a snowman stamp, stencil or die so no excuses for not playing along!

Waffle Flower has done it again with an addition to the Postage Collage line. This is the Nesting Postage Collage that makes a big rectangle stamp. There's two different die sets - one that cuts a perforated edge like a stamp called Nesting Postage Collage, and the clean line "block" style called Nesting Postage Collage Blocks.

There are different stencil sets too! So you can create different oversize stamp images! This is the Let it Snow set that includes the stenciled snowman, round penguin image, and the little rectangle with the stenciled mountains. The coordinating stamp set includes all the stamps on my card today.

To get all the layers I started with the Rhombus Texture die topped with the Rhombus Panel, Topped with a stenciled A2 Pierced Piercing Layer (you could also use the Postage Collage Blocks, but this is a solid die so you'd have to cut it before you color it. I inked a panel of cardstock and used the open Piercing Rectangle to help me line it up. The oversize stamps are the top layer.

Blessed Beyond Words

Today I'm playing at Cut it Up Challenge where this time it's Grateful Thankful Blessed! If you want to play along you better hurry because there's only a few days left!

I cut the Waffle Flower Cozy Icons dies from bright colorful solid cardstock, assembled them and then arranged them on an Inside / Outside Circle Die cut. The Cozy Icons set includes all the images you see on the card including the leaves, mushrooms, acorn, butterflies and even the coffee cup.

I liked the circle to create a focal point for the Grateful Heart Sentiment and to help ground the different elements like the coffee cup and little snail.

The background is a Tiny Diamonds cover plate that adds lots of texture and more color to your design when it's layered over a darker panel of cardstock.

That little pumpkin on the sleeve of the coffee cup is colored with makers and has me wanting a pumpkin spice Frappuccino! Oh the temptation! LOL!

Round Stitched Bookmark

Today I've got something different to share! A stitched bookmark! I used to cross stitch all the time when I was younger. I confess that my eyes are just not as good as they used to be! I really wanted to try to make something with this die from Waffle Flower called the Stitchable Round Bookmark Die. I'm linking up to the Neglected Stuff Challenge because I have a box of cross stitch thread and honestly I can't even gander a guess at how old it is!

I followed the free pattern (keep reading for the link) but switched up the colors to use what I had on hand.

I selected the "You Are Loved" sentiment because you have to know you're loved if I spent the time it took stitching this for you LOL! Honestly it didn't take very long - probably about 3 hours, but still....

I added a plain pink Round Bookmark to cover the back side of the stitched piece and clean it up a bit. I got about 100 colorful tassels on Amazon for around $8 here.
