Keep Smiling!

It's been a cold winter for most of us! The only one that doesn't seem to mind too much is the dog! She's still expecting her walk every morning. I'm always trying to find the bright side and notice the little things. I'm really enjoying seeing footprints in the snow lately and trying to figure out the different animals that left them!

But I'm still missing my garden and time outside. Whenever that happens I turn to my studio for some crafty time with some pretty florals. If you feel the same way I hope you'll check out the You Are My Sunshine Collection from Pretty Little Studio.

You Make My World Brighter

The days are getting shorter and the temperatures are dropping but there's still lots to be thankful for! Thanksgiving is just around the corner and I hope you're making plans to be with family and / or friends and that life is good!

Today I'm sharing a card made with the Pretty Little Studio You Are My Sunshine Collection. The title of the collection says it all! Beautiful flowers, bright bold color and positive inspirational messages. This collection really is sunshine on paper!

My card started with that label with the printed sentiment from the 100% Sunshine Word die cut pack. I added some faux stitching clear stickers and layered it over a journaling card.

Then I embellished it with flowers in shades of yellow for a monochromatic design. The flowers are so pretty even the bees can't resist. They're adhered with adhesive foam tape so they pop up. The honey comb paper coordinates with them beautifully.

The Blue of The Sky

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you are having a great day! Today I'm sharing a card made with the Pretty Little Studio You Are My Sunshine Collection!

This collection is pure sunshine! You'll find beautiful blooms, a rainbow of color and and uplifting sentiments throughout!

I can't resist color and flowers! Swoon! I selected these beauties from the Apple Blossom Florals die cut pack and arranged them on rainbow paper. They are so pretty even a little bee can't resist!

A half circle sentiment is perfect along the edge of the card. I made sure the blue stripes of the rainbow stripe paper were at the bottom of the card so that the blue sentiment semi circle didn't fade into the background.

Life Is Better At The Beach

Today I'm playing at Inspiration Station where this time they want you to dive on in with this tropical photo inspiration.

With August just around the corner I'm starting to feel summer coming to an end and I haven't made it to the beach yet. I'll try harder to make that happen but for today I'll make my own beach in my craft room.

My background scene is created with soft blue cardstock topped with sandy waves cut with the Waffle Flower Wavy Borders. I inked in some spots with alcohol markers and then stamped the sentiment directly on the background. 

Beach umbrellas are inked in rainbow colors. The Beach Umbrella Die N Stencil set includes a stencil, but I used post it notes to mask off each color and then ink it with Distress Ink.

I love the bright rainbow colors! I added little white enamel dots in the center of each umbrella to add a little shine.

The finishing touch is a scatter of little seashells in bright colors because I can't go to the beach without picking up shells, glass or pretty rocks to put in my pocket.

Beach More - Worry Less

Today I'm playing at Creative Knockouts challenge where this time it's Summer Fun! In my opinion Summer requires at least one trip to the beach.. whether its the ocean or a lake beach doesn't matter! It's all about a day away from the cell phone and work, and enjoying a day with NO AGENDA!

My card starts with that fab A2 background die called Happy Waves. I cut the die from white cardstock and then cut a bunch of blue scraps with the same die. All the pieces are inlaid for a clean smooth background.

I added glitter paper that looks a bit "sandy" or is it the shine of the waves in the sunshine?

I topped the panel with the Oversized Beach word die and sentiment. One of my all time favorite dies at Waffle Flower is the Subsentiments die. I keep it on my desk all the time - it's one big die that cuts lots of labels at the same time, each of the labels is a different size. I just stamp the sentiment and then tape the die over it for a quick clean cut.

I added a sprinkle of gold glitter enamel dots from my stash to add a little more sparkle to this design.

Sneak Peek! Pink & Main Ice Cream

If I had to choose my favorite all time crafty item I'd say die cuts every single time. If you're a big fan of die cuts too you are going to flip over the latest release from Pink & Main! This time they have sea creatures, aquariums and my favorite.. these ice cream treats!

This set comes with a sundae dish, waffle cone and sugar cone. There are ice cream scoops and soft serve swirls. You'll even find a little cherry and whipped cream to garnish your favorite dessert. I love that I can change the colors to create favorite ice cream flavors, ice, or sherbets.

I love that this set has as separate die for the lines in the cone. I cut them from a darker shade of cardstock so they are easy to spot. The soft serve swirl die is embossed. I added a little distress ink to bring out the dimension in the die. There's a coordinating stamp set called Sweet Surprise that has lots of punny sentiments for creating sweet cards for all occasions.

The background is an older Fancy Lattice that has a lacy feel that reminds me of a doily that you might find under your sundae glass at an old fashioned ice cream shop.

Pretty Pink Posh May Release Blog Hop

It's a great day for a visit! My card today features the new Big Celebration Cupcake that you can decorate with patriotic images, fruits, picnic, and fireworks!

I loved all the images so I had to incorporate as many as possible into my design!

I love all the different fruits.. .blueberries, lemon (or is it a lime?), and a strawberry too! And those little ants!? Well I think they never miss a meal do they?

I lit up the "sky" with fireworks and added a little "USA" flag too. This set includes the flag, and the usa letters on a separate die. I double cut the flag to cut out the letters and then put a solid white flag behind the red one.
