Fusion Card Challenge & SALES!

Hi friends! I hope you're having a great day! A new challenge begins today at Fusion Card Challenge! It's a great place to play and you'll love this challenge because there are three ways to play.. you can play along with the sketch, be inspired by the photo, or FUSE them together and play with BOTH!

I'm typically drawn to the inspiration photo.. the inspiration photo this time is called Christmas Chalkboard. This one reminds me of the board they write restaurant specials on. I love the fonts and cute images.. If you're not loving the photo, don't forget.. there are other ways to play along!

My card starts with a black piece of cardstock that I stenciled with white ink using the pine branches from the Layered Christmas Lights Stencil set. Next I shifted the stencil slightly and applied white texture paste. This gives the inky part a shadow appearance. When the paste was dry I added a light brush of white pigment ink.

Next I added a blue mug (like the the one in the photo) and embellished it with some Winter Foliage Die Cuts. A Pine Tree is added behind the cup - again mimicking the images on the chalkboard. It also helps define the area and keeps the cup from blending into the background.

A sweet mixed font sentiment using the Holiday Scripts set and a sprinkle of sequins and this one is DONE!

Fusion Thanks Strawberries

I'm typically drawn to the inspiration photo.. the inspiration photo this time is Thank You Strawberries. How yummy do these chocolate dipped strawberries look? I spy monochromatic red with a touch of white and brown if you're looking for a color challenge. If you're not loving the photo, don't forget.. there are other ways to play along!

My card starts with an color block background.. soft blush covers the majority of the card and a 1" espresso border along the top and bottom of the card. I added a panel of Poppystamps Penelope Pinpoint Frame.

I added Lawn Fawn Stitched Scalloped Borders cut from white and light brown to pick up on the chocolate in the design. The scallop border reminds me of the little round paper candy cups from the confectioner store.

The sentiment is from an older Lawn Fawn stamp set called Hello Friend. I masked the sentiment and stamped it on an Altenew Featured Sentiments die cut. The Strawberry Patch berries and bitty Spring Sprig Flowers are from Lawn Fawn.

I'm typically drawn to the inspiration photo.. the inspiration photo this time is called Kitchen. I spy window covered with a floral spray.. pumpkins on the countertop and lots of WHITE! There's a bit of baby blue in the bottom right corner, and lots of foliage. If you're not loving the photo, don't forget.. there are other ways to play along!

I started by trying to recreate the window with two Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Film Strip dies layered over a panel of soft blue cardstock.  I cut the Film Strips again with the same blue cardstock so I could inlay the stitched pieces inside the window frames.

I embellished the window with foliage and florals in fall colors - different shades of yellows and oranges.  Stitched pumpkins from the Fall Basket set are attached with adhesive foam tape along the bottom.  A little Distress Ink on the off white pumpkin adds a little depth. 

The flowers from the Spring Foliage set are just sunshine!  I almost added gems to the flower centers but I think their die cut detail is just right so I left them alone.

I love the new Fall Basket from Pretty Pink Posh! I think I'll be using it all year round to fill up with die cut flowers, apples and leaves. Fingers crossed for some berry dies in the spring!

I filled the basket with lots of pretty oak and maple leaves but wanted to add a bit of blue like the colors in the inspiration photo. I sprinkled in some florals from the Spring Flowers die set.

I'll be sending this card for Thanksgiving so the Grateful Script sentiment is perfect! I added a die cut Lattice Background in aqua to the card base leaving all the die cut pieces in tact. I like the detail that the die cut panel adds.
