Let's Make Waves

Today I'm playing at AAA Birthday Card Challenge where it's anything goes as long as it's for BIRTHDAY! I thought these mermaids from Pink & Main would be fun to play with. I love a scene card and things come together easy when the set includes some accessories.
I started with a simple Distress Oxide ink background and then added the Copic Colored images. I used the Let's Make Waves stamp set. The images were easy to color and I had lots of fun making this scene.

I like to arrange the images on a piece of clear plastic the size of my card base to help me decide what to put where. It was easy with the rock and coral to layer across the sea floor.

Some of the images are adhered flat to the card base to help "ground" them while others are adhered with adhesive foam tape to give the appearance of them floating. It really does make a big difference.
I hope you'll find some time to play along. It's really relaxing and I don't know about you, but I'm always surprised when I see the completed design.

Make A Wish!

Thanks for stopping by! I hope life is good and that you're having a great day. Today I'm playing along at Beautiful Blossoms Challenge It's always anything goes and this time they have an optional inspiration photo to get your wheels spinning!

It's that time of year when finally green has returned but so have the dandelions! And while some of you might not consider these beautiful blooms there are so many beautiful things about dandelions.

I think the first flower our children pick for us is a dandelion How many of us have made a wish blowing on the dried head of a dandelion? The seeds drift off into the air like our wishes on the wind. From what I've been told my great grandfather used to make dandelion wine! Talk about making the most of what life throws your way!
My dandelions are arranged on layered Rounded Stitched Rectangles. I stamped the sentiment directly on the white panel and embellished the design with some pretty sparkly pearls.
I hope you make the most from whatever life throws your way. Hugs to you!

Filled With Joy Birthday Wishes!

Thanks for stopping by! I hope your week is off to a good start! We did a little running around this morning and are starting to think about some projects around the house. Time for a break! Today I'm playing along with Critter Crazy Challenge Blog where any time you add a critter you're in!
I always love a scene card and the more images I can fit in from any particular stamp set the happier I am! These images are from the Pink and Main "Filled with Joy" stamp set!
The images are clean line and easy to color. The hardest part is deciding on what colors you want to use. For me that's easy.. I'm in the BRIGHTS pack!
I adhered the images to a simple Distress Ink rainbow blended panel and WOW! It's a party going on!
I hope you find some time to play! It's raining out anyway right?

Layle By Mail Season Pass Spring Edition

Today I’m sharing four cards made with the latest Layle By Mail Season Pass 2.0 for Winter/Spring. The paper pack includes (12) exclusive 12x12 double-sided papers (and the 12x12 cover sheet also has an additional pattern on the back side!). I also used the exclusive die cuts and word strip stickers from the collection on my designs.
From ringing in the new year in January, Valentine fun in February, and the magic of Spring in bloom, everything in the Winter/Spring Season Pass 2.0 is designed to help you capture the season’s most meaningful moments with ease and style. My focus today was creating four March/Spring themed cards.
This kit is ideal for documenting special moments or creating fun cards to celebrate the change of season with family and friends. The papers and die cuts are easy to separate into the different occasions, but are also perfectly coordinated to work together if you like.
I like to use the 3x4” journaling cards to create focal points for my designs. They are usually a solid color which makes them perfect for layering over busy pattern papers. Some even have printed sentiments so all you need to do is add embellishments!
I’m primarily a card maker and with the addition of the Layle By Mail Sentiments die cuts I can make cards for all different occasions. The sentiment die cut pack includes 103 die cut sentiments in different fonts, shapes and for different occasions.
The kit has everything you need to make all of my cards. The only items I added are the card bases, solid cardstock matts, adhesives and gems from my stash.
I will use these cards to send to friends and family to let them know I’m thinking of them and wishing them well after this past long winter. The promise of spring brings hope and the promise of better days ahead.
Here's a photo of all four cards together so you can see the variety of things you can make.
Thanks for stopping by and have a beautiful day!

Pink & Main March Release and Instagram Hop!

The March release from Pink & Main is here! This month Pink & Main turns 12, so we are celebrating with our annual birthday-themed release! We have fun new stamps to color and sweet treats to assemble and share. For you card kit lovers, we have a new Celebrate Quick Card Kit! There’s new product categories - Shaker Glitter as well as Paint & Splatter. And as always, we have a fun new selection of Foilables to choose from!
My card today features the new Birthday Postage Stamps set! Each little stamp is a scene with iconic birthday images! They're easy to color and if you have the dies from a previous Postage Stamp release the dies are the same - no need to buy another set unless you want to cut two at a time!
I added 3/4" stripes of colorful cardstock to create a background for the images. Next I adhered them over the stripes. The set also includes a few circular "cancel" stamps. I stacked those over some gold glitter Zig Zag Circles to add a little bling.
A sprinkle of Gypsy Confetti is the finishing touch because this is absolutely a party going on!
I'm linking up to Addicted to Stamps and More where this time they're looking for BIRTHDAY cards!

And now the part you've been waiting for...

Make A Wish!

Today I'm playing along at Send a Smile For Kids This time they're looking for cards with Animals! Something we should all have in our stash right?
I'm playing along with the Pink and Main Icing on the Cake stamps and die set. These images are super cute and all the pieces you see are included in the set. The coordinating dies make everything easy to cut in a snap!

Because this is a birthday card I wanted a rainbow background! My go to is always blended Distress Oxide for a scene card. The creamy inks blend seamlessly and have a soft finish. A splatter of white ink and a splatter of water really help remove any imperfections from brush strokes that you might find.
I always arrange the die cut images on a piece of clear plastic the size of my card base to help me decide what goes where. I had a little room at the bottom so I stamped the sentiment there... directly on the inky panel. Some of the images are adhered flat to the base and others are lifted with adhesive foam to add dimension.
I hope you find some time to play along! It's always nice to have a birthday card in your inventory and one for kids is always the best! In fact I know several grown ups that would adore this card!
