Spring Wreath Wedding Congrats!

Hi friends! I hope you’re having a beautiful day! Today I’m sharing a card made with the beautiful new Leafy Spring Wreath! This set features a leafy wreath with lots of pretty embellishments including flowers, Easter eggs, little birds and a beautiful bow!
I like to reimagine my stamps and dies and imagine different ways to use them. Just because this set has “Spring” in it’s name doesn’t mean that’s the only time I can use it. I saw those little birds and immediately my mind went to weddings!
Pretty Pink Posh has a fabulous assortment of stitched border dies too. But why do they have to be just for borders? I like to use the Stacked Edges and Stitched Strips dies to create smooth flat backgrounds. I have more than one of each of the border die sets so I can cut several at a time. I always save the extras for other projects.
I love the clean line designs from Pretty Pink Posh because they’re ideal for every media type I can think of. I’m not an “expert” at coloring so I like to color the petals and leaves in different shades of color to give a stained glass look with lots of contrast.
I’m smiling because this card was made with something old (the older release dies), something new (the new Leafy Spring Wreath), something borrowed (my daughter’s markers), and something blue (all those fabulous stripes)! I'm playing at Shopping Our Stash where this time they want you to color something with your favorite media - mine is Copic Markers!

I know... they're expensive. But if you color as much as I do you can't beat the value of being able to buy ink refills. One refill will recharge your marker at least 10 times. The color match is perfect and I only have to buy refills of the colors I need.

Simple Stories Simple Vintage Essentials Revisited

Hi Friends! I hope you’re having a great day! Today I’m sharing five more cards made with the Simple Stories Simple Vintage Essentials. This collection was so nice I had to play twice! But this go round I challenged myself to use some of the collection pieces that I don’t normally gravitate to for cardmaking.
All of the papers I used this time are from the 12” designer paper kit. I cut the papers to 6x6x” squares to make them more manageable. I flip half of the double-sided papers back side up so I can see all of the lovely pattern choices I have available to work with in the pack.
I typically use the same recipe for my card makes. I start with a card base topped with Color Vibe solid mats for a foundation. Next, I layer on pattern papers mixing the fun prints. Finally, I like to create a focal point. Usually that means a 4x4 SN@P! card or a Journaling die cut. This time I used Ephemera and Chipboard Clipboards to create focal points for my designs.
Because the Chipboard Clipboards are blank, they’re great for altering. I thought this would be the perfect place to try out the rub ons! I found them easy to apply using wood stick included in the package and they do add a new layer of interest to the designs.

Chipboard Metal Hardware accents and Foam Sticker titles along with enamel dots make the perfect finishing touches.
I challenge you to explore your traditional cardmaking supplies and see how you can kick things up a notch! I think you’ll be glad you did.

Stitched Floral Flip Frame

Do you love to stitch? I used to but not so much anymore. That doesn't stop me from buying stitchable dies. I like the pierced look and how layering allows color to peek through the stitching holes.
This card starts with a red matt on a white card base. I topped it with a Spellbinders retired Picot Petite frame so the red shows through the open die cut holes. I think it looks like lace.
I topped the center of the panel with a pierced oval from the Infinity Punch and Pierce Plate. This gives a detailed look to the center of the design.
Finally I cut the Stitched Floral Flip Frame twice from light and dark green cardstock and then added the double cut florals and added them to the design. I added some enamel dots for the flower centers and honestly I don't miss the stitching at all!
I'm linking up at Creative Knockouts where they're looking for stitching either real or faux. I think this one counts!

Stylish Oval Hello Floral

Do you love flowers? I just can't resist them! When I can't have the real thing in the garden I like to make my own!
Craft dies have come so far in the past few years! Florals are dimensional and layered and look almost as good as the real thing! Sometimes I think all that they're missing is the floral scent!
This card starts with the Spellbinders Infinity Punch and Pierce Plate cut from white cardstock and layered over an aqua panel. This die is a three piece A2 cover panel die. I left the center oval empty so that the aqua blue background peeks through. It's really beautiful and looks like lace!
I topped the panel with Stylish Oval Hello You Florals in shades of pink and red. It's easy to assemble and is just gorgeous! I topped the floral with a stacked "Congrats" Mix and Match Sentiment.
If you love flowers too you might want to check out the Beautiful Blossoms Challenge! This is the optional mood board if you want to play along!

You have until June 12 to link your design! I hope you find some time to play today!

Spellbinders Quick and Easy Card Club

Have you tried one of the Spellbinders club kits yet? It doesn't get easier than this! You receive a box of coordinated supplies delivered direct to you and ready to work with. Here's a peek a this month's Quick and Easy Card kit.

With the new year comes a few changes to the kit. You might notice the price is about $10 less than last year. That's because the die kit and stamp set that were included in the past will no longer be in the kit. I think this is a good idea because honestly I never really used the stamps because there are so many sentiments in the kit. I will miss the die but for the savings it seems like a good trade off.
This kit has lots of pastel colors - think pink, soft green, baby blue and yellow. The prints are gingham, rainbow newsprint, hearts, plaid and floral. You get one sheet each of 20 different 6x6" printed papers to work with.
I used gingham to create some rolling hills as a landscape for the orange tree and little house. It looks like a great day!

There's a puffy sticker sheet loaded with different sentiments to choose from - they look like label maker labels.

The kit includes a rainbow and clouds and even a sun shine because the weather is always just right in my sweet escapes to the craft room.
If you're looking for a great way to treat yourself I hope you'll try one of the Spellbinder kits that are delivered to your front door. You'll find that they're a great value and will save you lots of time because you wont have to go shopping for all the prefect coordinating elements. A subscription for $29.50 a month provides a fabulous Quick & Easy Card Kit filled with LOTS of supplies to work with including a pattern paper pad, stickers, die cuts, and lots more.
