Autumn Breeze Collage

Just love the first line of this wedding invite...Like the leaves on an Autumn breeze, our hearts are uplifted by love...

I created this wedding invite collage for a fall wedding yesterday. I also provided photo booth services for the wedding and did an entire scrapbook using these colors and the fall theme. Check out some of my pages and a wonderful venue by clicking here.

Here are a few closeups - love the Creative Charms Pearls for accents. And my all time favorite background scallop shapes are from SVG Cuts. Cut on my Cricut using SCAL (Sure Cuts Alot). Used the Cuttlebug Embossing folder (just peeking down from the top)

Also used some of the new Creative Charms Vintage Marble Brads - they come in a bunch of great colors.

What a great fall weekend!

SNOW Layout

Here is a layout I did for my local Scrap Book Store, The Crop Shop. I'm on the design team and the assignment was papers from TPC (The Paper Company) Studio. The papers were wonderful. I used Let It Snow, Flurries & Swirl. This layout also features Winter Blues Sticker Sheet. I also used Core'dinations Navy and a Gray Card Stock.

I am also submitting this layout for the Fussy & Fancy Friday Challenge - Winter Theme.

This layout features silver and blue inking. I wasn't sure how the ink would work on the stickers but they worked great. The SNOW type is from the sticker sheets.

I did a bunch of layering on the SNOW title - here is a closeup of all the layers and a close up of the final title.

Heart with Swirls

There was a request on the Sure Cuts Alot Craft Edge Forum this morning for a Heart with Swirls. I made one. It is similar to the photo posted on the Forum but a bit different.

Here are the separate elements:

Here are the elements all layered:

I cut the files and here is a scan. I sanded some Core'dinations Paper for the square cut and inked the heart and added some Creative Charms gradient gems. I added some foam squares under the scalloped heart to add dimension.

Perfect for a Scrapbook Page or Card!

Cupid Challenge Layout

After I cut the cupid LOVE file from the Cupid Challenge I immediately got to work on a scrap book page. I wanted to add some ribbon around the edge of the page and designed a 12 x 12 scalloped SVG that has the cuts for the ribbon. I'm sure I'll be using this again for other pages.

The layout used Core'dinations Paper for the background, the white is just a card stock, and the pink with flowers is Stemma "Something Sweet". I just wove the 1/4" ribbon thru and on the corners added some Creative Charms silver flower brads. I also used 3 Creative Charms vintage velvet flowers and accented the page with some pearls from CC.

Here is the 12 x 12 scalloped background, click here to DOWNLOAD.

I also made a 6 x 12 scalloped background, click here to DOWNLOAD.

Valentine's Card

I was playing with the SVG Cuts Swirlies Collection and created this card. The outside features a cut on Core'dinations paper. I tore the bottom of the paper to reveal the core color. I added ribbon left over from Christmas wrapping. I also added some Creative Charms gradient jewels and hand cut the little hearts hanging from the bow.

For the inside I cut the file called "Sunflower" from the Swirlies Collection. It was designed to have small holes around the inner circle. I added some hand stitching using floss from my cross stitching days and added some gradient jewels. Back in the day I cross stitched so I have every color organized in a handy carrying case. I love to sew so it is fun combining both hobbies.

In Their Words

My boys have some fantastic quotes and questions and wanted to capture them on this layout. I'm on the design team for a local scrapbook store called the Crop Shop and the challenge was to use Core'dinations Chocolate Paper. I really liked how sanding the embossed elements look with paper but I do not have an embossing gadget. I remember doing hand embossing in art school, did a test and worked like a charm!

Here is my final layout:

Here is the quote SVG if you'd like to give this a try. Click here to DOWNLOAD.

Here is tutorial on how I did the hand embossing:
STEP 1: After you create your image in Illustrator select art and choose reflect tool. (Please note - do not do real detailed art - keep it on the simple side)

STEP 2: Select Vertical Reflect and Copy.

STEP 3: Print the reflected art out on your printer.

STEP 4:
Cut the original art out on the Cricut using chip board. (I use cereal boxes - and set cutter to 3X in SCAL)
STEP 5: Attach chip board to the right side of the paper (the side you want to "pop out"). Place in the corner for easy positioning & tape in place.

STEP 6: Trim the mirror image that you printed out to size.

STEP 7: Turn paper over and attach mirror image to same corner. This printout is just a guide to show you where you need to emboss.

STEP 8: I just used a pen without the point. Using your printout as a guide you have to feel for the edges of chipboard and trace around and also emboss on the inside of the object. Press hard but don't tear thru.

STEP 9: This is how it should look from the bottom side of the paper.

STEP 10: This is the final embossed panel. I tore the top and bottom and sanded on my embossed areas to reveal the core color.

This paper is awesome. I also used it for the title and frames around the quotes and printed the quotes out on the back of the paper. Please let me know what you think of the tutorial, hope you give it a try!
