Banner Collage

WOW! It has been forever since I posted here on my blog! I was on vacation and unfortunately I brought home a very bad souvenir...I bug of some sort and I don't mean the kind you pick up in a gift shop. Well I guess I could of.

Anyways, I am back! And glad to be!

I do have some things I have created before and after vacation that I do need to share with you. First up is a shadowbox I made for a former coworker.

There are two things I just love about this one:

(1)
Love the little banners.
Guess what I used -- the Christmas Tree from the Christmas Cheer SVG Kit.
Just turned it upside down and there you have it ~ a banner accent.

(Here is the Christmas tree I turned upside down)

(2)
The fabulous flair buttons from Paper Play Studios.
Have to say they worked perfect on this collage.
I am thinking I need to pick up some more of those for future projects.

Here are a few more closeups & some details on the cuts:

Turtle and Zebra from Wild Child SVG Collection
Birdie & Cute frame to hold the baby's photo from Little Sweet Peas SVG Collection
(lots of great baby cuts!)

And last but not least this little whale guy is a freebie from 6/9/12
If you don't have him pick him up!

One last think before I take off and start my weekend - stop by fellow DT member Fluerette’s Blog and FB Page before 8/20 to enter her $20 Joann's Gift Card Giveaway. Her work is amazing ~ true artistic talent!

Hope you have a fantastic weekend!

A cool tool!

Hey everyone. I tried a cool new tool on my latest Shadowbox Collage.
Thanks to Tamara Tripodi - Happy Life Crafty Wife who sent me a super cool

It worked perfect!

I printed out my wording and used the tool. It was really easy and I just love the look of this compared to regular print on paper. I used the square 25 tool.

I made this for a lovely lady at work who retired. She loves her family, home, gardens and will now be making a few more trips than usual to the local casino. :)
Aren't these papers pretty? They are Hello Sunshine by Bo Bunny. So bright and cheery.

Here is a look at the flowers. They are from SVG Cuts Every Day Cards.

Speaking of Tamara ~ she just opened up a new online store called Paper Play Studio. Stop by her store to check out the great flair sets. I just picked up a few sets and can't wait to give them a try. Stop by her FB Page here. She is having a great giveaway - if you decide to enter please use code: http://bit.ly/MQNPyD to sign up.

Congrats to Tamara, I'm sure her store will be a big success!

Happy Crafting!

New Home Collage

My son’s 1st grade teacher just closed on a new home the last week of school. I made this collage for her from the entire class. We also gave her a bunch of gift cards for home improvement and furnishing stores.

I used a 12x12 Shadowbox from Joanns. The little house is from SVG Cuts:

Strawberry Lane SVG Collection

I cut the little EST. 2012 so tiny on my amazing Sizzix eclips.

The SVG Cuts Design Team recently coordinated getting cards for Mary & Leo of SVG Cuts.
I love how Thienly added a little key on her card and liked the little house she used so I scraplifted them for my collage.

I tried something new on this collage with the family name.
The first example has the regular font and the second and third have effects added to the font.
On my collage I used the effect called rise. I also made the first initial larger.

If you have Adobe Illustrator give these a try:

Here is a close up of the family name.

I just realized I never shared my card I made for Mary & Leo so here it is:

I used the lyrics from Crosby Stills & Nash for this one. I was going to make a kitty to match their kitty named Gucci and wouldn't you know - there was a SVG called Gucci already!

Hope you had a great Memorial Day Weekend! I sure did and had today off too. My husband and I are thinking about putting our home on the market so we had a busy weekend cleaning & finding a place for all our “stuff”. You should see my craft room - super organized and clean!

Have a great week & don’t forget to stop by SVG Cuts for their Memorial Weekend Sale!

Twins!

Hi there! I was away in Florida last week for business and glad to be back home. I had some crafty time this past weekend and got the Sizzix Eclips running.

One of my coworkers just retired about a month ago and she has brand new baby twins - a boy Logan and a girl Hayden. I made these for their room. They have a Lion King theme room. I found the Lion King paper at Michael’s.

Here is Hayden’s Collage:

Here is a closeup of Logan’s Collage:
I used the palm tree from SVG Cuts Birthday Dino SVG Collection.
I stretched the palm tree trunk in Illustrator to better fit with my design.

The palm fronds are from SVG Cuts Edisto Island Cards SVG Kit

Also used the free borders from SVG Cuts.

I used the font Be Lucian for the names. I also added the baby’s foot prints and birth details. I designed them so they look great on the wall from left to right.

Here is a peek at the room decor I matched - cute isn’t it?

Thanks for stopping by today ~ have a great week!

Collage for a Crafty Friend

Hey there! I recently participated in a Blog Hop hosted by the ever-so-sweet Celeste and made a shadowbox for her. Click here in case you missed it.

Well she asked me to make one for her very best buddy Yolanda, aka Just Yolie. She told me Yolanda loved dragonflies and the color purple. I found the perfect paper and glitter embellishments and created this shadowbox for her.

I just saw that Celeste traveled from Sunny FL to Sunny CA to visit her friend Yolanda just yesterday. Wishing them a fabulous visit!

Quote Collage

Hey Everyone - Between my 13 wedding scrapbooks for my photobooth business (Ham It Up) I found some time to create this collage for a friend of mine at work.

We were in a class together and we had to come up with our life's mission. Here is hers - it is from a song - not sure of the artist. The frame is a 5x7 so perfect for on her desk or end table at home.

A few closeups:

I used the Creative Charms Kit of the Month for this project. The braided daisies matched the fancy pants paper perfectly. The vintage brad & gradient pearls are not part of the kit but they are Creative Charms as well. Twine is from the Twinery. I printed out the wording on my printer using the font Hallmark.

Here is a look at the entire kit and info on it’s contents:

Cricutholics Guest Designer

Awhile back Liz over at Cricutholics asked me be a guest designer over on their site. I shared my take out boxes back in late January and now I am back with some Wedding Invitation Collages.

These are so fun to make and everyone that's received one of these just love them. You can customize your wedding invite collages to match the theme and style of the wedding.

This first one has a rustic feel. I grabbed some twigs off my tree outside (thanks Kristin for the idea - she used them on a recent DT Project) and the leaves are from Joanns. The background scallop shape is from SVG Cuts and I cut it on my Cricut. I use foam core to layer the elements - it is inexpensive and adds alot of dimension.

a closeup:

On this one I used the colors of the invite and wedding and worked in the colors of the bouquet. The corners are accented with Creative Charms. Papers are from DCWV. I picked up the flowers are Joanns - K&Company - they matched perfectly!

a closeup:

Thanks for taking a look and stop over to the Cricutholics Site!
Stop back on Wednesday ~ have a Creative Charms Project to share.

Contest Winner

Thanks to everyone who entered my contest.
And the winner is.....
Therese said...

I think it's the Peony Cottage set...maybe a haunted house???
www.taragona.blogspot.com

No one guessed the set so I put everyone in a random drawing - I used the Taylor’s Team SVG Collection for my latest project. My niece needed a baby name collage for a shower. I checked out the registry online and here is what a saw:

Don't you just love the colors & design of this room? I went to work and searched out the perfect SVG Cuts Collection and Taylor’s Team was a perfect match. I used AC Cardstock from Pumpkin Cart Crafts and did not add a whole lot of embellishments - just a bit of twine. The space on the right is for the baby-to-be’s photo.

This collage came together quite nicely - got it all done in less than 2 hours!

Here is my collage along with a few closeups:

I used lots of foam core in between the layers to add dimension. The frame is from Michaels - it is 12x12.

Thanks again to everyone who played along and I'll be sending you your SVG Cuts $10 gift certificate Therese!
