Hello Baby....whale!

I am so excited to have some extra time to join some challenges! I decided to attempt a card for the Hand Stamped Sentiments sketch challenge as well as the Paper Pal Arts Color challenge. Certainly Celery and Bashful Blue are two colors that are being retired with the new Color Refresh that Stampin' Up! will be introducing in the new 2013-2014 catalog. I am so excited they are bringing back several of my favorites!
Here is my card...

I have not used Circle Circus in a while and it is one of my favorite stamp sets ever! I love making my own paper that fits any color scheme that I want to use. I also used the whale from the retired Fox and Friends stamp set. I love to add the little details here and there like the Paper Piercing, Pearls, and of course a little ribbon.
Thanks for stopping and I hope you have a great day!!

Celebrate Circles

I found 2 "new to me challenge blogs" this week that I thought I would give a try! They are called called Less is More and clean&simple. For the Less is More Challenge you are to you the color combo Brown and Pink. I like being able to chose which of the beautiful "brown and pink" SU! colors I was going to use. Here is the sketch for FL206 at clean&Simple...
Here is my creation...
I love using circles! When I combine them with "pinks and browns," I think about little girls. When I began creating this card I wasn't sure whether to create a birthday card or a baby card. I thought by adding this sentiment from "Perfectly Penned," it could be either one! Adding ribbon to my cards is my favorite embellishment to add and I thought adding the Baker's Twine too gave a nice balance.

Thanks for stopping by!

Little Life

I guess I am on a roll of making baby cards. I have lots of friends expecting babies soon. (You may recognize your cards when you get them. :) ) I am going to miss Fox and Friends but I am so excited to see what great stamp set will replace it! I loved the colors that were chosen for the ColourQ Challenge #135. Here is the card I created for the challenge...

This was a card that I CAS from a stamp camp held by my Up line, Shana Gaff, a couple years ago. I really liked this easy layout, and this stamp set is perfect to create your own background. I changed the colors, sentiment, and accessories and... WAH-LAH! So those of you looking for another sample...Here you go! :)
Tomorrow I am going to share with you a card that I have been thinking about creating for a couple weeks. I know a little girl that inspired this card and I can't wait to share the story! Here is a sneak peek but check back tomorrow for the full story!

Thanks for stopping by!!

Baby Girl Congrats

I was talking to a couple friends and they were going to make some cards for new baby girls in their families. (Patty and Lisa...:) ) They looked on my blog to get ideas but I had not posted a baby girl card yet! So I thought this would be a perfect time to come up with something pink. I had to keep in mind that this needed to be a mailable card so here it is...

The colors I used were Pink Pirouette and Pretty in Pink with Whisper White. It is hard to see but i scored the bottom part of the card at every 1/8 inch to give it some texture. I added the various punched circles then embossed the top using the Square Lattice Impressions folder. I added the smallest Pearls on the Scallop Trim Border. The sentiment is from a retired hostess set, Swirls and Curls Verses. I just love this set and don't think I can ever part with it!
Thanks for looking!
