Inkspirational #158

Time for another awesome challenge over at Inkspirational! We have a cool photo to inspire for this one :)

A very simple card. Stamped image and sentiment then I used a bit of a criss-cross colouring style using Zig glitter pens.

Take any element you like from the photo. I feel a bit sorry for this bloke - that rain is pelting down hard and just on him!!

See you over at Inkspirational!

HLS May CAS Challenge

Hi everyone,

Let's get started with the CAS challenge over at Happy Little Stampers!

We all love a bit of rain especially to give us an excuse to get into our craft rooms!

Here is my card -

This was very simple to make. I stamped my image and sentiment at the same time using my MISTI. I added a bit of colour to the clouds and sun. Then I stamped my rain drops and coloured them in. Done! I used the HLS Rainy Days stamp set.

I hope to see you over at the challenge blog where the team has come up with plenty of inspiration for you.

HLS April Watercolour Challenge

Hello April! Well, this year is already flying by. I really can't believe it. The best thing about this month is that I will be getting a visit from my Mum! Yay!!!

The NEXT best thing is that our new challenges start over at Happy Little Stampers.

First up is our Watercolour Challenge -

You are going to love this one - I did!

Here is my card -

You may have seen a card I made a couple of days ago using this new die? It is the Split Chevron Cover Up die. This time, I used the solid chevrons to create Inlaid die cuts.

I first started by using my Zig pens (yep, I was getting 'Ziggy with it') and just scribbled colour one under the other and went over them with my water pen. I ran that piece through my big shot using the cover die. I then die cut it again using white cardstock. I fiddled around a bit getting the pieces where I wanted them. I was going for a fairly random look.

I used my MISTI to stamp my sentiment in Versafine black ink and then heat embossed it with clear powder. The sentiment is from the HLS Rainy Days set.

Once finished, I went over the coloured panels with my WOS pen. I really feel this brings out the watercolours created with the Zigs.

Here is a close up of the shimmer.

So that's me done for today! I hope to see you over at our Watercolour challenge - it is VERY popular!! Just goes to show how many of you love to watercolour :)

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges -

Timeout - Inspired by Words
'When it rains look for rainbows, when its dark look for stars'

AUD Sentiment Challenge - any sentiment except for birthday

Die Cutting Divas - Anything Goes

Tuesday Throwdown - Sparkles

Thanks for popping in and see you soon. Mwah!

AAA Cards Guest Designer

Hello! I hope you are well and getting lots of crafty time.

Today I am excited to be a part of the new challenge at AAA Cards. Happy Little Stampers is sponsoring and Jane has asked me to be a Guest Designer. Thanks Jane!

Here is the theme for their challenge -

Now with this one, you also have the option to create a shaped card - It could be long and thin, a rounded square, circular, heart shaped, or any other shape you can imagine. Just make sure to keep it LOVE themed and CAS.

Here is my card -

I created my right hand side panel by smooshing scarlet brushos onto a piece of watercolour paper. Once it was dry, I smooshed some perfect pearls to give it that brilliant gold highlight.

Here is another photo without so much sunlight hitting the card -

I die cut the white left hand panel with a border die and did the same with a piece of black cardstock. I wanted just a sliver of black popping out from the edge.

I glued everything together and used some craft foam behind the whole left hand panel (I finally got some Sarah P!). This gives the panel a lot more stability than using strips of foam tape.

I stamped the sentiment and hearts from the HLS Rainy Days set. I coloured the hearts in and covered them with some wink of stella.

Well, I hope to see you over at AAA Cards for their first challenge in February. It will be a great chance to get those lovey dovey cards done for Valentine's.

Thanks for popping in xx
