For today, I have an easy diamond fold card tutorial for you. With just a coupld of score lines, you have a great way to show case your Bestie images!


One of my favorite coloring techniques is using Colored Pencils and Gamsol. I was asked to do an updated tutorial on how to do basic coloring for images. So, I decided to do a three part series, breaking it up into skin, hair and clothing.

What a Doll- Bestie Portrait

Hi Friends, Sandy here with my Scrapbook Stamp Society DT creation for you! 
Today, I wanted to show you this cute card that I made for my daughter. She absolutely loved it along with everyone (okay, the ladies) there!

I did an easy easel card fold to showcase this image...

I used Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol (odorless mineral spirits).

Winter Dreams Bestie

Hi Friends, Sandy here with my Scrapbook Stamp Society DT creation for you! 

Do you have a favorite color combo?  I was looking at this card that I made for a Bestie DT Challenge in our Facebook Group. I realized that I really, really like brown and blue. I like Brown and pink, brown and red, etc...  So I really like brown, lol.

What is your go-to color combo? Do you use a color wheel when you are coloring your besties? Do you get inspiration from challenges?

I guess I am in the question mood, lol!

So here is my card...

It is a from a recipe challenge with the paper being a wallpaper sample. Yeah, go figure, lol! So that is my tip for today. Check out your local wall paper department, you never know when they are throwing away sample books.

Cheers to a New Year

Hi Friends, Sandy here with my Scrapbook Stamp Society DT creation for you! 

I am sooo excited, I get to ring in the new year with you all!  Looking forward to a Blessed Bestie Year!

In honor of today, I decided to use the "bombshell".  I thought she would be just perfect in her decked out outfit!

I used a couple techniques with this card. First I decided to go with a starburst effect for my background. Then I had to find some fabulous paper but at last, I did not have what I was looking for. So I made my own. Using a pretty flourish stamp, I gold embossed the background. Very quick and easy plus the bling I was looking for.

To finish, I used some silver glitter tape that I picked up for a buck and a vellum sentiment that I put on white cardstock so it would show up. To finish it off, I used stickles to give it some Bling!  Hope this puts you in a glamorous New Year mood.

Snow "girls"

Hi Friends, Sandy here with my Scrapbook Stamp Society DT creation for you! 

Only 4 days left til Christmas...just saying!!!!!  Plenty of time to get a couple more Christmas cards in for family and friends.

I wanted to do this cute image as soon as I saw it and what better card to do it on than a snowball?!?! But then I realized, that is just a circle card and not really a snowball, lol. So I decided to go with a scallop circle card to show off this image.

I added a couple of snowflake punches to get my "snow effect".

Doin' it my way or the highway!!!

Hi Friends, Sandy here with my Scrapbook Stamp Society DT creation for you! 
Today we are coloring My Besties with Spectrum Nior Markers and DYI Design.

This is a homemade card start to finish. I used a scallop circle punch to make my "pink heart clouds", black cardstock with a white gel pen to make the "road" and black Marvy fine point pen to hand write the sentiment and stitching along the card.  I used the craft knife to cut the bottom of the digi stamp and "tucked" the road underneath. 
The card measures 5.25x 5.25.

So what do you think? I was trying something new and it just goes to show you can make a cute and creative card without all the fancy tools.

Upright Diamond Card Fold Tutorial
