Kirs- Making Memories

Olivier's File
by Kirs de ven-Smit

SUPPLIES
Making Memories - Just Chillin-
4" x 8" Spiral Bound Notebook Just Chillin Boy
paper Just Chillin Boy flocked camo - checker
Alphabet Stickers : Passport Canvas Alphas
chipboard shapes
ink Memories TM Brown
Making Memories Paint espresso
cricut - cartridge Base Camp
fineliner brown
cardstock brown
cardstock kraft
rope
HOW TO
For the pages of the minibook: cut kraft cardstock 15 cm by 20 cm. Take the papers from a spiral bound notebook, adhere them on the cardstock and distress them with ink for the older effect. Do the same on the cover with the flocked camo paper.
For the subsurface with the Olivier's alphabet, I have used paper packaging from the alphabet stickers. It has a nice wood effect that you can recycle it. Punch holes along the edges and thread a rope through them.
Edit them further with old pieces of paper and die-cuts made with sponge. Letters are made by the cricut and finishing with the fineliner.
The pages are bound with a rope, so you get a tough look.

HOW TO:
For a nice effect with the words: cut from the lace cardstock these words - i love you - hugs - and kisses, and edit it with fineliner. At first I have made a heart from the overlay and drawn it with posca pen. Paste this heart behind the picture, then the words. . Before I added a picture, I first edited the background with old paper, piece of paper and white paint. I like to use white paint for the softer effect.

Jessica- **MY MIND'S EYE**

If you are like me, you are probably behind on your scrapping. I can never seem to catch up! Occasionally I will do a layout filled with small photos from the month. By doing this, I at least have a page done with all the important events and I can always go back in later to rescrap some of the photos onto seperate layouts. I chose to scrap about our first Christmas holiday in Germany and all of the different things we saw and did.
Weihnachten in Deutschland
SUPPLIES
Cardstock: DCWV
Patterned Paper: My Mind's Eye Snowed In- Flakes, Christmas Dots
Die Cuts: My Mind's Eye Snowed In
Miscellaneous: ProvoCraft Cricut, Opposites Attract Cartridge, Buttons, Black Pen, White Signo Uniball Pen.
HOW TO
First start by editing a batch of photos from a month's period. I used Photoshop Elements 5 to group the photos, adding a 10 pt white border. I stacked the photos to save time. After I printed it out, I cut around the outside edge (rather than cutting out and gluing each individual photo).
Use a die cut paper as a template and cut a snowflake to put under your photos. Outline the edges and adhere to your cardstock.
Adhere your photos on top, using pop dots for more dimension.
The Opposites Attract Cartridge was used to cut out the letters on the Cricut.
Add your journaling around the photos.

Rachel- SoHo Squirrel **TECHNIQUE WEEK**

"We met this little fella in Washington Square Park in New York City. I was tring to convey the whole point that this fab little park full of very friendly squirrels was just a little square in the middle of streets of sky scrapers."

Rachel made a little city of sky scrapers on her layout and to add more dimension, embossed the papers.

White poster paint pen or poster paint with fine tipped brush

HOW TO
In this case the photograph was edited to be faded except for a circle immediately around the squirrel.
Print photograph and trim to 5 inches square
Cut a 6 inch square of the self adhesive fabric and attach to the bottom left corner of the lilac base.
Cut the brown cardstock into smaller pieces to fit the swirl embossing folder and emboss. Cut some sky scraper shaped from these embossed pieces, ink the edges with brown ink and some of the pieces entirely and arrange to overlap the outer inch of the two joins between fabric and lilac base using sticky foam pads to create some dimension.
Edge the base of these with the ribbon.
Use the discover folder to emboss the word onto your photograph and highlight it with the brown inkpad. Ink the edges of the photograph also and layer onto the base.
Die cut 3 acorns from the brown and gold cardstock. Piece together using the gold for the nut and ink lightly with the olive green ink. Layer over the bottom left corner of the photograph.
Add the title using rub ons and some decorative doodling with the white poster paint pen.

Just a little reminder!
