Vintage Lace Pillow Cases

I'm still on a roll with working on projects and I'm having so much fun!

I have another FO today.  Yay!

I found a set of nice cotton pillow cases at Ross last week for about $5.
And, I had a two matching pieces of crocheted lace that I bought at a restoration/vintage fair
a couple of years ago.  I thought they'd be pretty sewn onto the pillow cases.

I hand washed and lightly blocked the lace a couple days ago.
Today, I pinned them in place and hand stitched them on.

The pillow cases are a close match to some of the colors in our comforter...
especially at night with the lamps on.

I think they're really pretty.
I'm so happy to have found something to use the lace for.
Now, instead of sitting in a drawer where it's rarely seen, I get to enjoy it.

We've been needing new sheets.  I bought a beautiful set last week.
And, since we have two sets of pillows, these lacy pillow cases will be useful too...and loved.

Fuelin' the Old Fashioned Way

I was looking through my vacation photos to see if there
was anything else I wanted to share and I found this...

It's a gas station along the highway that heads into Kings Canyon.
Check out those old pumps.  You can see the gas inside the glass
cylinders on top.  And, they actually work!  They sell it by the litre
and it comes out to be around the same price that we pay per gallon
outside of the park.  I love finding stuff like this!
I hope it stays around for a long time!
