Embrace Imperfection

I haven't been able to do the Life Book 2013 lessons for several weeks, but this morning I pushed myself to open the latest email - and found Dion Dior's lesson about divine colors. I knew right away that I'm in the blue mood these days and was so happy to read that the blue is about communication & creativity. Spot on! 

And as usual I'm struggling with beeing a "good student"... I just had to make my own version of the flower theme. And embrace imperfection. As in both communication, relationship, work and creativity. 

Thank you, Dion - this was a blessing to me.

Dette innlegget er en hyllest til Christine Koht - og alle andre mennesker som byr på seg selv! Jeg vil også! Og tenker at jeg må våge være litt påfugl innimellom... (Det er det noen andre som har skjønt også... *hihi*) Men det er noe viktig i det! Til tross for og på trass av den sterke Janteloven må det være lov og bra og rom for å by på oss selv. Så, kjære du - "Bjuda pååååå dej!" som Koht sa så flott der hun faktisk spradet rundt på scenen i rosa gymdrakt og påfuglfjær på hodet!

Uttrykket er laget til ukens utfordring i "LifeBook 2013", hvor det magiske ordet var COURAGE. Og hva er vel mer modig enn å våge by på seg selv? 

I lytteposisjon

Jeg deltar jo i LifeBook2013, og denne ukas oppgave satt laaaangt inne... Utfordringen var å jobbe med hvitt på svart, med fokus på "Scales of light". Åsså jeg som er så glad i farger! I dag pushet jeg meg selv til å gyve løs, uten å ha noen som helst plan med hva jeg skulle gjøre. Forsøk 1 måtte jeg legge til side, og så dukket dette frem. Det er tid for å åpne armene og ta i mot. Og lytte.

LifeBook2013 - True intentions

I'm enjoying the challenges over at LifeBook2013. They really challenge me. This week we're to make a paper doll by using stamped parts of the body. I started out making a regular head stamped with definition text stamps. But suddenly I sliced the head in two! I wasn't planning to, I promise! It just happened. And from that moment on everything just turned crazy... And I laughed my way all through the process! So, I'm for sure making small things with great love :)

Sailboats scare me. The whole "trust the wind and let go"-thing doesn't come easily to me... But still I had to use the sailboat as a metaphor for my life travel this year. I need to trust - and let go. I need some wind to blow my sails, but I also need some days in pure windless relaxation. I need to trust my own capabilities as the capitain of my own life, but I also need to let go of all the stuff I can't control. I need to let myself move into the mystic... 

My Guardian Angel - and Creative Muse

I'm participating in Life Book 2013 and here is my first page. We were asked to make a "Fairy Art Mother" (or father) who will cheer on us and help us on our art journey. My Fairy, or Angel, is strongly inspired by the beautiful angels of Elisabeth Helvin. 

I've committed myself to be more brave in my creating this year. And creativity takes courage. It's all about pushing your own limits, jump into the ocean of new materials and techniques and let go of the "always used to do"-s... Well, I've said it all out loud. Now only time will show how brave I really am. Feel free to join me on my journey :)
