Spring Cleaning

T: Vintage Pants: Vintage Shoes: Converse

Call it late spring cleaning, or just being sick of my wardrobe, but I've been in a rather casual mood lately. For some reason, I've been frequenting the T-shirt aisles of thrift stores more than anywhere else. But, I can't just sit back and wear a T-shirt and jeans. That's where these awesome trousers come in. Maybe they tie everything together, from slouch to thought out, or maybe my the sun is too warm for me to care. Either way, it works.

Tuxedo

Top: Free People Shorts: DIY Cutoff Wranglers Jacket: Vintage

Spring calls for spring outfits, yet the chaotic temperament of spring still calls for a jacket. This is where, yes, a bit of a denim tuxedo can come in hand. But, I think that you'll agree, all is forgiven when you're matching up to a pair of cutoff Wranglers. Simply put, these are the hands down the best jeans to use for a little DIY cutt off action. Why? Who knows, but it's true. What is important, though, is spicing up the outfit with a little accouterments. Otherwise, you're just wearing denim head to toe.

I was starting to feel like spring was never going to arrive, then, all of the sudden, WAH LAH! Finally, my long neglected shorts section of the closet got back in full swing. And as long as I'm feeling warm and renewed, I figured, why not wear all white? But, for the sake of not looking like a sanitation worker, I decided to pop on my brand spankin' new floral blazer. Yes, the print is one part Margaritaville and two parts "so what I'm on vacation," but if you're stuck at work, why not daydream a bit through your outfit, right?

You Fancy

Dress: Micheal Stars Shoes: Aldo Bracelet: Vintage

I was back in California a couple of weeks ago for a good friend's wedding. And being a little rusty in dressing "formal," I actually had to go shopping for a new dress. I know, my heart skipped a little bit, too. But, in spirit of thrift, or at least being thrifty, I bought this Micheal Stars dress half-off, and I'll be able to wear it after. So, this is basically the outfit, minus the bolo, and I decided to show you all some of my dance moves while I was at it. For the full picture, imagine me a little more drunk than this, and eventually a little more bare foot, and a little more bruised.

First let me say, please excuse my absence. And while I wish that I could say that I’ve been jet-setting the globe or living in a Tibetan monastery for the past couple of months, the truth is that I’ve just been busy, and lazy, and cold, and uninspired. However, in my absence, I’ve been stockpiling outfits, ideas, and with the snow finally starting to melt away, locations. So, without further ado, this outfit is a collection of some of new favorite things – bracelets from Sweep Street and a shirt and cardigan from Choies. In all honesty, these became staples the moment that I opened the box. There’s no turning back now, I’m addicted to studs- in more ways than one.

All Black (Almost) Everything

First off, long time no post. Like most of the country, I recently had a nasty bout of the dreaded flu. And given that my symptoms perfectly aligned with the start of the Sundance Film Festival, the last week or so can only be described as horrific. Although, I did miss the craziness the Festival brings to Park City, which really was a blessing in disguise, it's my most dreaded time of year and sleeping through it was A OK with me.
But, on a more positive note, I'm feeling better and even braving skirts. As for the all- black get up, maybe it was inspired for monk-like existence in my sick bed, or perhaps it's inspired from the hordes of "film tourists" that just left. Either way, though, I couldn't help but add a little pop of turquoise color from my new favorite necklace.
