Nature Sketchbook Album in a box

Hello and welcome to the blog today.

I've just finished my latest album using Graphic 45's 'Nature's Sketchbook' tucked into it's very own custom box. I've been itching to do a boxed album for a while so I'm really pleased to have completed it.

Graphic 45 Nature's Sketchbook
8 x 8" paper pad
Ephemera pack
6 x 6" plains and solids
Die cut flowers and Chipboard embellishments

I have a walk through on You Tube where you can see the pages in depth, so much easier than trying to photograph them. Well, it is in principle! That's if they will upload for you in the first place. LOL

I bought the box and album chipboard kit from Clare Charvill of 'My Creative Spirit' so I had the pleasure of making them up and decorating my album.

I used Tonic Studios spine creator die and Memory Book 2 Base Creator dies for flips and flaps and tags in the album.

Here are some pics of the pages

The album measures 5 x 7" and the spine is 2 1/2" deep.
Because the album has to fit into the box, any fussy embellishments were out so the front and spine are relatively flat.
I was running on vapours with the papers. I had used some of the 8 x 8" pad on other projects so it was a bit of a juggling act to cover both the box and finish the album. I used the same design to cover the front, back and spine which meant I could utilise the back of the paper pad and I also used one of the images from the front of the paper pad to add interest to the front of the album. There's no waste with G45!

I hope you enjoy it today.

Precious Memories

Good morning. Thank you for calling in today.
I hope you have a super week ahead.
I'm sharing a project today that I have wanted to do for a long time but was always too busy to devote the time to. I found some time, I set to and I've now given it to my daughter for our precious granddaughter Edie.

The kit and the instructions for the album can be found HERE.
I am a great fan of the uber talented Clare Charvill who appears on Create and Craft sharing her amazing work with Graphic 45 papers and embellishments.
Watching her led me to her site HERE where she has lots of fabulous projects and kits to choose from.
She is a lovely lady to deal with and the service she offers is efficient and speedy too.

Onto my project. It's really picture heavy - just to let you know! :)

The first picture is of the box I covered to match the album. I don't think I've ever had such difficulty finding a gift box in my life but in the end I managed to locate one in Clinton's. I was determined to keep the album safe and sound. LOL
The finished album is 8 1/4" x 8 1/4" x 3"

The papers are of course Graphic 45's Precious Memories and I've used the 12 x 12"; 8 x 8" and 6 x 6" pads together with chipboard embellishments, stickers and tags and folders from the collection.
If I say that it takes approximately 25 sheets of 12 x 12" card stock to complete it will give you an idea of the amount of stash you will use. :)

I made this matching card to go with the album.

This is the album cover - isn't it so cute? :)

As you open the album it has elements to show off lots of photos and places to write those special memories that we all have of our children.
There is a pocket in the front page and a waterfall section with a pocket in the second.
I haven't taken pictures of every element but just a general overview of the album.
If you want to see how it looks in all it's glory take a peek at Clare's You Tube video HERE where she takes you through each page in detail.

There are all sorts of little hidden gems, places to tuck those wee items you want to keep and hidden pockets with more mini albums inside.

I just loved the divided page with two sections which open up to reveal even more detail.
The flowers are cut from the 12 x 12" sheet as are the little dresses. Ribbon is used as a closing device on the bottom pocket but a magnet is holding the top pocket closed.

This is the finishing detail on the back of the divided sections.

You can just see the second mini album peeking out of the semi circle aperture in this page.

I've used an Anna Griffin stamp of an antique baby carriage that I had in my collection to add a bit of interest to the journalling tag.

This section opens up to reveal more journalling space and a tag and pocket for those special pictures.

I loved the roses in this collection. These are 'fussy' cut and applied to the front of this little open pocket.

The rose theme is carried over to the next page and again they are cut from the 12 x 12" page

This page holds another mini album in the pocket and there is added detail with one of the cut aparts and a chipboard element on the front.

The back page of the album with lots of space for another photo

I added a wee panel to the back of the album and used my free Tonic die to add the sentiment.

These are the three hidden albums that are tucked inside the pockets.
You can see them opened out in the pictures below.

Thank you for persevering through all these photos.
I am so proud of this album I can't tell you. :)
My thanks to Clare for a really fabulous experience. I learned so much following her clear instructions and seeing this all come together.
I know my daughter will have enormous fun filling it with her own special memories.

Have a good day!
