Vintage Granny Stitch Blanket (version 1)

Hello and welcome to the blog.

I've made another version of the Vintage Granny blanket (see the Knitting Network site). I loved the first one and couldn't resist making it again.

I found this colour scheme on The Knitting Network site used for a blanket called 'Sweet Dreams'. I didn't want to make that particular blanket but loved the colours.
I used Emu DK yarn in Salmon, Coral Fade, Cornsilk, Lawn, Glacier, Baby Blue, Dusky, Cloudy Lilac, Crepe and Cream.

I am not a huge fan of the granny stitch but I've found that I'm slowly but surely changing my mind. It's so versatile and restful to do.

There is a massive border section on this pattern and it does get a tad tedious but I think with all the changing colours it isn't too bad and it's fun to watch it grow.

I'll be gifting this one at some point and hope the recipient will enjoy using it.

I'm onto a Cath Kidston inspired squares blanket next. I love the colour combo for that one too. It's worked in aran weight yarn so that will be a change for me. I've only ever done one in that weight before.

I found the pattern on Lullaby Lodge  and it's free to download. It's called Spring Garden Baby Blanket and comes in two sizes, pram and cot.

I think it looks delicious!

That's me for now.

Have a good day and keep crafting.

God Bless xx

Vintage Blanket and Two little bags

Hello and welcome to the blog today.
It's been a wee while but I've not been slacking!
I have completed this gorgeous Vintage Blanket. The pattern is available from the Knitting Network and it's so simple to do.
Mine worked out at 51" square, slightly larger than stated on the pattern but as it's a blanket and didn't need to be a crucial fit I wasn't too bothered.

I'm not a great fan of the traditional granny stitch but this colourway just sang to me and I had to give it a whirl.

I also managed to finish the girls' bags. I sent off to Etsy for the personalised charms and then added a couple of wee crocheted flowers.
I'll be filling them with all sorts of goodies so I hope they like them.
It will be a wee extra surprise for them to open at Christmas. 😀

The pattern for the bags is also available at the Knitting Network.

I'm onto my next project and it's one that will take a lot of time though it isn't difficult to do, just lots of hexagons!

Have a super day and every blessing.

Edna xx
