Welcome to the world

Good morning. Is it as hot as an oven where you are? Phew! After sorting out the windows and cleaning down the paintwork I am officially melting.

I thought I would show you a little baby gift I've made for my daughter. She wanted some wardrobe dividers and described what she would like so I set to and made them in the colours she requested.
If I say it was a labour of love then you will have to believe me. I only had the thin metal dies in the sizes I needed and trying to cut through heavy duty acetate is a day's work on it's own.
Matching up the apertures was another carry on but only for her and only this once! :)

I've used Centura Pearl card stock for the box - well you can't give a gift without one can you?

Tonic - Baby sentiments die set
Tiny flower punch and Sizzix leaves
Pink Petticoat papers
Picked raspberry distress ink

I just love the way the wee stork can be decoupaged on this die.
I cut and scored the card stock for the box lid and die cut the wording from the centre. I then backed the aperture it left with PP gingham paper (blossom) and glued the sentiment back into position.

The discs were cut from heavy duty acetate and covered with two die cut circles of paper to give me a white edge.
The age labels were cut with standard Spellbinder dies and the numbers computer generated.

A close up of the dividers

It would have been a walk in the park if I had separate steel edged dies but I got there in the end.

I hope she likes the finished results!

Have a good day whatever your plans and thank you for calling in.

Just a little note

Hi and good morning. Welcome to the blog today. I hope you have had your share of flowers and choccies on this bright and sunny Valentine's Day!!!

Today's card isn't a Valentine but features Alicia Alva's 'Alicia Colouring' and I've used her for an any occasion card, the sort you just send to a friend 'just because'. :)

I had this image coloured up and in my folder so together with Pink Petticoat's new release 'Isabelline' I've made another simple card.

Image - Alicia Alva digis
Papers - Pink Petticoat Isabelline
Sentiment - Pink Petticoat 'Tiny everday sentiments'
Memory box dies - Tulepo Circle and Latchette border
Die-Namics fishtail die
Gems from stash

The image is coloured with Promarkers

I just love the colour combo of these papers and the patterns are fabulous too.
I print onto Crafter's Companion 160gsm Printable light card which always gives me good results.

Well, I got my blood test results on Tuesday. It turns out I am diabetic and it has affected my eyes and that's why the blurry vision lately. I have been told by my optician that when I get my sugar levels all sorted, the eyes should improve as there is no permanent damage, so there's always a silver lining to every cloud. Meantime I'm keeping it simple and concentrating on my diet. I've lost the guts of a stone so far and that can only be a good thing.
Thank you for all your good wishes and messages. Mwah!!!
