It's Launch day!

Well here we are and it's time for the launch of the Winter Paintbox Poppets. I'm sure you have enjoyed visiting the DT blogs for inspiration - they really are the most delightful images. Today also sees the big reveal over on the Crafter's Companion blog. If you took part in the blog hop on Monday and left a comment you are in with a chance to win this beautiful CD. Don't forget to check!

I've added glitter to the snow and tree bough to complete the card. These are great if you have to make lots of cards in a hurry - especially at Christmas time when there are generally so many to prepare. :)

Thank you for calling in this week. It's been a pleasure to showcase this beautiful CD and accompanying stamps.
I've a Saturated Canary for you tomorrow - I've been experimenting!
See you then!

Letter to Santa

Goodness it's Thursday already. Where does the week go? Still scheduling and trying to relax. I never thought it would be so hard to avoid the craft room and my 'puter for a few days on end. I think I really need to get away properly - the temptation is too strong! LOL

Onto today's card. I had to laugh when I looked at my samples - a lot of them were pink and blue. Must like that combo then! :)

Winter Paintbox Poppets

Happy Wednesday! I'm continuing this week with the sneak peeks from the Winter Paintbox Poppet launch. I'm scheduling these posts so I hope they appear when I want them to. In real life I'm taking a short break as this is the second year we have had to forego our holiday and I'm just tired out. I'd forgotten how restorative a wee break can be and with the awful weather etc this summer, it's made it feel very long indeed.
Rosie (my poodle) whose health is the reason for our 'non- holiday' situation had a near miss last Friday. I'd even made the appointment for the vet and was quietly breaking my heart but she seemed to come round again and was on her feet and taking notice, so the vet was promptly cancelled. Phew!
In truth I don't know how much longer she has but talk about an indomitable spirit - that wee dog could teach classes!
Anyway, enough about that sad subject and onto today's cards.

This is one of the stamped images available with the new CD. There are six stamp sets in total and they are all really charming.
I kept this card very simple with some layering, a bit of embossing (Cuttlebug snowflake folder) and some die cuts (Marianne design, Spellbinders)
The sentiment comes with the image and there are several to choose from.
I used red liner tape and crystal glitter to make the glittery layers on the card (I'd run out of white glitter board).  It was a handy alternative. :)

The image is coloured with Spectrum Noir pens
Skin - FS 2, 3 - TN 2 - PP 3, 4
Dress - DR 3, 7 - CR 11
Hair - GB 4, 8 - TN 6
Shoes - EB 3 - TN 6
Cape - EB 1, 2
Shadow - 1G1
Gold trim - GB 8

My second card is using one of the toppers from the CD. It's quite large so the card is an 8 x8" one.
Backing papers are from the CD as is the belt trim and the sentiment

I've cut several Spellbinder Create A Flake 1 snowflakes from Centura Pearl card stock and then sprayed them with the new PINK iridescent 'Spray and Sparkle' from Crafter's Companion.

I tried to catch the shimmer but I'm not sure it's quite 'there' - take it from me - those snowflakes shimmer. :)
Thank you for dropping by today. I'll have more sneak peeks tomorrow.
Have a good day!

It's the season for sneak peeks!

I've a sneak peek from the soon-to-be-released Winter Paintbox Poppets CD to show you today.
I've been working with the CD and some of the new stamps but as this was my very first frame card, I couldn't wait to show you the result. :)

The card shape and layers have been cut using Go Kreate XXL Square Frame Frilly #7 dies
The frame and the decoupage are printed from the CD and there is a very helpful project in the member's gallery section of the Crafter's Companion website to keep you right about constructing it. :)

I've taken a sideways view to show the depth of the frame. Both of the backing papers are from the CD as is the greeting.

The trees are Marianne design dies cut out and embossed with a Darice 'swirls' embossing folder. The little poinsettia is also a Marianne die and gems have been added to enhance the frame and the trees.

Don't forget to visit the DT girls' blogs - there is lots of inspiration to whet your appetite for this charming CD and stamps launch.

Sneak peek and blog hop!

We have another new launch coming soon from Crafter's Companion. It's the much loved Paintbox Poppets from the pen of the very talented Christine Haworth, this time showcasing the winter images.
The blog hop starts at Crafter's Companion so if you haven't arrived here from the lovely Linda just nip back to the beginning so that you don't miss anything! :)
I've made a stepper card with the gorgeous decoupage from the CD.

Decoupage printed onto Crafter's Companion 'Printable decoupage paper'
Backing paper from the CD printed onto smooth white 160 gsm printable paper from CC (the best IMHO)
The fabulous centre border is also one of the features as are the sentiments and candy striped 'buttons'.
The two leafy boughs are cut from a  Marianne design die

A close up of the decoupage matted onto a Spellbinders grand labels die

A sideways view of the card. It was so big that it didn't fit my usual wee spot for taking pics. :)

Your next hop will take you to Caroline's blog.
All you have to do is visit the DT's blogs and see what they have made. You will end up back at the start where you can leave a comment on what has inspired you from all the samples you have seen.
The CC team will pick a comment at random to win the new Paintbox Poppets Winter Collection CD-ROM, on the Friday morning at 9am
Good luck!
Be sure to visit again during the week as there will be a lot more sneak peeks to see!

What is your Die-sire?

Good morning and welcome to another week on the blog. I've been busy behind the scenes with DT work so have neglected the blog a wee bit - my apologies. I hope this week sees you well and that the sun is shining where you are. We have a lovely bright, practically cloudless sky at the moment, but who knows how long that's going to last! :)

I've a wee sneak peek for you today.
The team at Crafter's Companion are extending their range to include my favourite craft item ever - DIES!!
The range is called 'Die'sire' (the reason for my title today).
Today I'm showcasing the two dies I received - Magic Mirror and Lace Border #5
Magic Mirror has this beautiful oval frame, a smaller ornate plaque and the oval with dots that I've used for the sentiment mat.
I've used a Paintbox Poppet image 'With Love' stamped and die cut as the main focal point of the card.
Paper from the Paintbox Poppet CD and Core'dinations Chocolate box card stock for this one
The borders have been die cut and embossed and then sanded lightly to let the background colour show through.
The image is coloured with Spectrum Noir pens
Skin - FS 2, 3, 4 - TN 2 -PP 3
Browns - GB 1, 2, 4, 7, 9 - EB 3, 4, 5
Greens - DG 3 - CG 1, 2
Red - DR 3
The image has been inked inside the die with antique linen distress ink

For my second sample I've used the same oval die but embossed it instead.
The decoupage is from the Mulberry Wood CD - I just love these playful raccoons. :)
I've glittered round the edge of the embossing and added a few pearls to embellish it.
The greeting stamp is a SeeD stamp
I've also added a couple of strips of glittery peel off to the top of the card ( I know - I had to dig deep into the stash for those!).

A sideways view to show the layers of the decoupage.

There are loads more dies to choose from and as the girls pop the sneak peeks onto their blogs you will get lots of ideas for using them on your projects.

Thank you for joining me today. Have a great week and I'll see you tomorrow with a new Saturated Canary image and some news. ;)

Polly's Pink Flower

The start of a new week - let's hope that the weather improves dramatically or there'll be ructions! :)
I hope you all had a lovely weekend and managed a bit of crafting in there somewhere.
Today we have Polly and her pink flower but just to cut back on so much sugary pink, I added some black mats to keep it sharp.

Image - Sassy Cheryl digi's
Paper - from Paintbox Poppets CD - Crafter's Companion
Tree and leaf dies - Marianne Designs
Sentiment - Craftwork cards
Black pearls - Mei Flower
Ribbon from stash

The image is coloured with Promarkers, Copics and Prisma pencils
Skin - ivory, blush, vanilla, oatmeal, baby pink
Flower, T shirt - rose, carnation,blossom pink
Blues - Copic Frost Blue B00 and Ice Blue B12
Yellow - summer sun, saffron
Green - lime, pear
Red - poppy
Hair - Burnt sienna, cinnamon, saffron, vanilla

A sideways view to show the layers. I backed each of the die cuts with black cs to help them pop from the page and add dimension.

All in all a very simple one today, hope you enjoy it. Have a good day and I'll see you tomorrow.

Paintbox Poppet Decorations

Good morning and welcome to the blog today. I've been a tad busy behind the scenes so I'm showing a card today that I made for the recent Paintbox Poppets launch on Create and Craft that I didn't get to show you before.
This gorgeous little lady is from the section of the CD called 'Decorations'

The panel in the centre of the card and all the decoupage pieces are on the sheet ready to print out and use on the front of your card. I reserved a little section for the accent at the bottom of the card.
I've die cut a scallop border with an X-Cut edge die 'Rosa' and used some lace trim from my stash to decorate. The flowers are mainly from Wild Orchid Crafts but the Kort and Godt peach roses are from Joanna Sheen
The papers and insert are also from the CD and I've inked the edges of the mats with brushed corduroy distress ink to give a more aged appearance.
This shows the lovely depth of the decoupage though my cutting out needs some help. :)

Thank you for joining me today. I'm back to the grindstone and hopefully will be back on track by the weekend. :)

It's my darling grandson Jude's eighth birthday on 27th March but we're having a family celebration on Sunday. His party will be on Friday for all his chums and truth to tell I'm actually quite glad I'm missing that bit. It's all a tad noisy and messy for me these days. I'm definitely getting old but he's a happy bunny away today with his massive Lego Dino set that we got him for his birthday. He's allowed to open it tomorrow at his party so the smile was as wide as his face when his Mum collected him today. I'll bet his Mum's face won't be quite so smiley when she has to deal with the hundreds of tiny Lego bits he leaves lying around! Oops!

SECC report

Hi and good morning! Better late than never I think. I'm slowly recovering from my exploits so I thought it was high time I let you know how we got on at the SECC.
We started at the break of dawn but the boat was held up by an accident that had happened the night before. Clearing up was still under way and so we sat and waited, and waited, and waited. Eventually we were on board and settling down to coffee and chat. No one seemed too tired to speak, including me, which is very unusual at that early hour of the morning. :)
Once on land we had to hare down to Glasgow from Stranraer. Well more like tortoise down - the traffic was quite heavy and there were always the ubiquitous road works to keep holding us up. We got there a lot later than we had anticipated so it was shopping bags out and plans to sweep the place clean.
I got to meet my lovely boss Gayle briefly as she then had to charge away and collect her son. Hi Gayle!! I'm sure the sight of me terrified the lovely lady, real life ain't quite in the same league as Paint Shop Pro digitised images is it now?  LOL
The hall was packed with goodies but I was disappointed not to see some of the big names there. I did get to meet Richard at the LOTV stand and had a lovely chat to him. I picked up bits and pieces but not a whole lot as the prices were no better than on line. Still, I enjoyed the day immensely. It was great to get out and about with friends. I nearly met Carol from the JS forum. Apparently she was standing beside me at the LOTV stand but didn't like to ask if I was who she thought I was. I'm so sorry she didn't as I was trying to see faces I might recognise but I couldn't see one. Never mind, maybe the next time.

Onto today's card at last.
This is another of the Reddy die cut decoupage images from the Fairy Whispers sheets. She is just gorgeous and she's called 'The angel of comfort'
I've teamed her with papers from the Paint Box Poppets CD
The wonderful detail and depth of this decoupage is just stunning. My DH was looking at the finished samples before I sent them off to CC and was blown away by the illustrations and just how real they looked when decoupaged.
I decorated the inside to complement the front. The edges of the mats have been inked with wild honey and brushed corduroy distress inks. The colours really bring out the gold tones of the image.
The embellishment is made up of elements from Spellbinders motif and accent dies from the Floral Doily and Ironworks sets. The button is an Epiphany embellie and the seam binding and embroidery floss have been inked to tone with the card.

That's me for today. Sorry for the long post but I'm glad you held on in there to the end. Thank you for joining me today. Have a lovely relaxing day and I'll see you soon. :)

It's launch day!

I hope you are all set for the launch of Paint Box Poppets on Create and craft today. Join the team at mid-day for a feast of loveliness. It's POTW time with a beautiful CD and two exclusive stamps on offer. There are more stamps including super interchangeable sentiments and gorgeous decoupage from Reddy with Paint Box Poppets and Angel Whispers too.
I've a few more sneak peeks - well they will be until mid-day. Hope you enjoy them! It's a long post so fasten your seat belts and have a cuppa handy. :)

This little beauty is called 'Little Foxglove Faerie' from one of the Angel Whispers die-cut decoupage sheets.
I've teamed her with papers from the Paint Box Poppets CD and cut the card base from Spellbinders Grand Label nesties with Centura Pearl card stock.
I cut the base image with a curved rectangle die and edged it with a BP2 Spectrum Noir pen
The accents are from Spellbinders Lace Doily accents and motifs
Ribbon and button are from my stash
This gives a better idea of the dimension of the decoupage - just stunning!

This little chap is one of the extra stamps on offer today
Boy with football matted onto Spellbinders Pinking circle dies
The papers are from the Paint Box Poppet CD
Sentiment also from CD
Buttons are Epiphany size 14 threaded with linen thread
Photo corners are Sizzix dies
The image is coloured with Spectrum Noir pens
Skin - FS2 and 3; TN2; PP1
Jersey - TB3,5 and 6

DR1; DR3
Boots - TN7 and 8; EB8
Grass - CG 1 and 2; DG3
Drink - OR 1

Last but not least I've one of the gorgeous wee Card companion images complete with the elements that accompany it. I've cut out the buttons and glazed them with glossy accents and popped them onto the card with 3D foam. The main panel is also raised with foam.

I've printed a matching insert and sprayed the main image with Spray and Shine to add that all important glittery finish. I then matted the image onto a wee circle doily for added interest.

Thank you so much for hanging on in there to the end of the post. It was a marathon!
Hope you enjoy the cards but even more the fab POTW programmes that will show you loads more samples to whet your appetite.
See you tomorrow with a D'Arcy from the new releases over at D'Arcys Diaries.
Have a great day!

Don't forget to pop back later to see who has won the Paint Box Poppets CD!!!!!

CD draw has been made. See above for winner.

Pretty little Poppets

Here we are with another of the gorgeous Poppets to show you. It's been a real Poppet and Angel Whispers bean feast this week but with the launch fast approaching it's only fair to let you see more of what's on offer.
Don't forget to tune into Create & Craft at 12 noon on Friday for the POTW Paint Box Poppets launch.
This cute little lady is an exclusive image available only with the POTW. She is so dainty and I just loved colouring her in. She comes complete with her own sentiment that will be so useful with lots of other flower and gardening based projects as well.
The papers are from the CD
The decorative edge is a Spellbinder Floral doily accent with the embossing highlighted with bundled sage distress ink
Paper doily from stash backed with plain coloured circle
The image is coloured with Spectrum Noirs
Skin - FS2; FS3; PP1
Clothing and tights - FS6 and blender pen
Cat - BGR1
Watering can - 1G1; BGR1
Shoes, flower pot and container - TN7; TN8; EB8
Leaves - CG2
Flowers - PP1
Hair - TN7; TN8; EB8
I made two flower embellishments using my Epiphany flower punch and buttons and then added large pearls to decorate
I printed a matching insert from the CD to finish the card and added a few pearls.
I think she's a cutie so I hope you enjoyed today's peek.

oooOOOooo

Now onto another of the die cut decoupage collections. These Reddy die cut sheets are a dream to work with - quick and easy to put together. Minimum fuss, maximum craftability. Ooer get me! I sound like a copy writer!

I've chosen this beautiful image to work with from the Paintbox Poppets collection.
I've teamed this image with a plain Core'dinations background. I wanted the image to be the total focus of the card. I've used a square doily and some satin ribbon from my stash to decorate. The little embellishment at the side is a petite nestie topped with a punched doily from Martha Stewart.
The sentiment is from one of the sheets on the CD. Finally I added a few pearls to finish.
A wee side view to give you a better idea of the layers.

Don't forget if you leave a comment you are in with a chance to win a copy of the Paintbox Poppets CD courtesy of Crafter's Companion. I'll choose a winner from all the commentators at random on Friday. The Crafter's Companion DT list is on my sidebar. You have lots of chances to win one of the brand new CDs if you leave a comment on each one!

That's me for today. Thank you for joining me and hanging on in there to the end.

Oh, just a wee thought. I will be away all day tomorrow so if you post a comment and don't see it on the blog don't worry. I moderate them and then post them up so I'll catch up with that wee job when I get home. Be assured that anyone who has taken the time to comment on the sneak peeks will be included in the draw for the CD.
