Woodland Wildflowers Patterned Panel

Good afternoon. Welcome to the blog today.

I received my Tonic Studios order yesterday and couldn't resist a quick play with the panel dies.

I didn't have time for more than one so far but just love these panels and was delighted to buy them from the Wednesdie deal offer.

The one I'm using today is called Woodland Wildflowers.

I've used a 5 x 7" card base and a paper pad from the Works that I've had for a long time called  Basic Vintage.
I cut the die and backed it with Welsh Gold Glitter card from the Tonic Craft Perfect range.
The backing piece is embossed using Tonic's Layered Leaves embossing folder, inked with Gathered Twigs distress ink.

The leaves are from Tonic's Craft Kit #5 and the flowers are from the Perfect Petunia die set. I popped an English Mustard Nuvo drop into the centre of the flower.

The sentiment is from the Tim Holtz Idea-ology Casual Talk sticker book - a great favourite of mine.

Just a quick post today.

Hope you are well and staying safe.

Peony Trio 3D embossing folder

Hi and welcome to the blog on this gorgeous Easter Sunday.

The sun is shining, it's warm and it makes such a lovely change to be able to sip coffee and then have lunch on the patio and soak up the rays.

I had this piece made ages ago but wasn't sure if I liked it or not.

I was playing with Nuvo shimmer powders and some gilding wax and embossing mousse.

I wanted loads of colour and texture so I was generous with the powders and the texture was provided by the gorgeous Peony Trio embossing folder from Crafter's Companion Parisian collection.

I painted the leaves using a slightly watered down shimmer powder and they really gleam but it's difficult to see in the picture.

I highlighted the embossing with platinum mousse by Nuvo and edged the card with gilding wax I had in my stash.
The sentiment is from Tim Holtz's 'Small Talk' sticker collection.

I'm still not sure I like it but experimenting is fun and it could lead to something really fab in the future. LOL

I hope you are having a very blessed Easter season.

Seahorse with glitter

Hello and welcome to the blog today.

I have found yet another way to use my seahorse die set for this card today.

I didn't feel like getting my hot foiling machine all set up so instead I used double sided adhesive sheet to cover the card stock before I started die cutting.
This meant that I could back the main die cut shape using a pale translucent foil and use various colours of my Nuvo Pure Sheen glitter to cover the intricate die cut.

It's very hard to see the sheen in the picture but it does give another avenue to explore with your die cuts.
I've hot foiled, letter pressed and now used the adhesive sheets to vary the finish on these seahorses.

Of course you can do all of the above with loads of other die cuts but I'm very into the teal green/blue look at the minute and these images work so well with that. :)

I've used a piece of patterned paper from a 15 x 30cm Brights paper pad from the Works for the background and stamped some foliage from the stamp sheet that came with Creative Stamping #43.

The watercolour card has been coloured with Nuvo Shimmer powders in Blue Blitz, Atlantis Burst, Green Parade and Solar Flare.

I used an old stencil from Dutch Doobadoo called Wavy Stripes and inked through it with Squid Ink in Beluga White to give the idea of bubbles.

The circle die cut is from a set by Tonic Studios called Marina from their Mermaid with love collection and has been glittered with Nuvo Ice white Pure Sheen glitter.

The sea shells and foliage are Sizzlet dies I've had in my collection for ages.
I've inked the edges with Black soot distress ink and glittered the edges.

I finished off the card with Nuvo Diamond Pure Sheen sequins.

Thank you for calling in today.
Hope you have a great week.

Folk Art Garden

Hi and welcome to the blog today.

I just had to have a go with my new Chocolate Baroque 'Folk Art Garden' stamp.

It's huge and is totally gorgeous and such a pleasure to work with.

I've used Distress oxides for the background and for adding more colour to some of the elements on the image after it was embossed. I wasn't using watercolour card stock but managed to get the job done without pilling the surface.

I went with the primaries Red brick, Faded Jeans and Fossilized amber for a bit of drama.
I spritzed the background with water to give the oxidised look and then stamped the image using Versafine Onyx black ink and finally heat embossed with Nuvo clear embossing powder.

I then went back with Worn Lipstick, Fired Brick, Fossilized Amber and Faded Jeans distress oxides to paint in a few details and bring out the main elements.

The sentiment is from Tim Holtz's Small Talk collection. I'm loving these for my cards at the minute.

The card base is 7 x 6 3/8" to give you an idea of scale.

Have a great evening and thank you for calling in.
