Onto today's cards. I received my Spellbinder's Delicate doilies die and matching Dainty Doilies stamp set from the lovely folks at
Craft World yesterday. Great service and really helpful staff!
Not to labour the point but I was feeling really low and it was great to have something new to play with.
I was also struggling with my mojo. It just isn't hitting the spot lately so I turned to the super duper Sue Wilson for some inspiration and checked out some of the demos she did using these fab dies and stamps.
I have to say that loads of the new Spellbinders have drifted past without me taking much interest in them but I'm so pleased with this new set - they are simply fabulous! I also got up to my eyes in an inky mess but it was very therapeutic. :)
The background is stamped with one of the large doily stamps (Just Rite) with a smaller one inset into the centre and then used on it's own as a space filler. I stamped with Versamark ink and embossed with opaque white embossing powder, then I went to town with my peacock feathers, forest moss and shabby shutters distress inks. Too late I realised that I had picked up the wrong card stock to ink so it hasn't blended all that well, but as I was only playing I didn't really mind.
The butterfly is cut from inked cardstock and is one of the gorgeous Les Papillons dies from another Spellbinder set
I've raised the layers onto the card face for a bit of added dimension.
My second card was really just a messy play time. I've used aged mahogany, old paper and worn lipstick distress inks. The background is stamped with Versamark and embossed with gold ep. The focal image is stamped with Olympic green Versafine ink. The embellies are buttons from my stash. I 'borrowed' the piercing round the card mat idea from Sue.
Phew! thank you for getting this far.
Well that's me for a while. I've really got to get back to making more Christmas cards next week.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Happy crafting!
Thank you for getting in touch Glennis. You should have your digi bundle soon! Thank you for participating in the give away. :)
