Bee Happy!

Good morning and welcome to the blog today.

You can't have hexagons and not have bees 😄 so here is my take on the theme today.

Shows on Create & Craft this week have featured Tonic Studios new launch of Hexagon, Octagon and Simple Type Alphabets. I do hope you managed to catch some!
If not you will still find loads of inspiration on the Tonic Blog page where there are also links to the Social media sites and check out my side bar for the DT blogs too.

8th Birthday wishes

Good morning and welcome to the blog today.

Today I'm sharing another idea for the hexagon dies from Tonic Studios.
The current launch of Simple Type Alphabets, Hexagons and Octagons is on Create & Craft with the lovely Paula this weekend.
Don't forget to check out the Tonic Blog where you will find links to the Social Media sites and check out my sidebar for a list of Tonic DT member blogs for lots of inspiration to use your dies.

I've used the hexagons to make a football card suitable for all those young or not so young fans out there. You can use their favourite team colours and really make it personal.

You Passed!

Good morning and welcome to the blog today.

I'm sharing a card made with the new Tonic Studio dies launched on Create & Craft yesterday.

I've used the Attraction Simple Type lower case alphabet on this card and teamed it with one of Tonic's older sentiments to make a congratulations on passing your exams card.
It could be made for any occasion that someone has studied for, it's up to you.
The versatility of these cute alphabets has no end!

Little One wall hanging

Good morning and welcome to the blog today.

I promised to share the contents of the gift box from yesterday and here it is. A little wall hanging made with the hexagon dies from Tonic Studio's new launch.
Catch the shows on Create & Craft starting at 7.00 pm tonight and don't forget to check out all the inspiration from the Tonic team. Blog addresses can be found on my sidebar and links to all the Social Media on the Tonic Blog.

A close up of the top section of the hanging.
I've used chipboard for the base, covered it back and front in decorative papers and inked the edges.
I've used the various sized hexagons in each panel, added fussy cut flowers and images and then completed it with flowers from my stash highlighted with the fabulous Glitter Gloss pen from the Nuvo range.
I've used the Tonic Windsor Simple Type Alphabet for the banner sentiment.

Thank you for joining me today. As you can see these dies are ultra versatile and so useful for all sorts of projects. I hope you have a lot of fun with yours!

Little Star gift box

Good morning and welcome to the blog today.

I'm sharing a wee sneak peek of one of the new die sets to be launched on Create & Craft on Thursday at 7.00 pm.

There are two layering die sets - hexagon and octagon and three beautiful alphabets too.
I have lots more to share with you in the coming days so keep an eye out for them.
I've used the hexagon dies to create this gift box (contents tomorrow 😉) from Kraft card and decorated it with papers and elements from Graphic 45's Precious Memories collection.

To make the box

Base: Trace the outline of the largest hexagon die onto your card stock.
Elongate the edges by 1/2" to each side and join up the marked dots to form the base. Cut out.

Sides: Measure the width of each edge, add 1/8" at each end for tabs. Cut to the height you require, I cut mine at 2" deep. Score at 1/2" on long edge and mark tabs using the cut edge of your base as an accurate guide for scoring the tabs.

Attaching sides to base:  You will need to cut away the bottom tab sections on each piece so that your side will lie flat. This leaves you two tabs at the top to overlap on the edge to give a strong join.

Lid:  As per base only this time elongate the edges by 5/8". Join dots and cut out shape required. This gives a snug fit for the lid over your base.

Lid edges:  Cut to depth required ( I used 1") and score at 1/2" on the long sides. Make sure to allow for the tabs. Your measurement should be width of lid edge plus 1/8" each side. Score at 1/8"each end for the tabs.
Repeat the attachment of the lid edges as you did for the base.

Now the fun part - decorate to your heart's content.
I lined the inside of the lid and base to hide the workings and then had some fun with the beautiful papers and embellies on the outside.

Don't forget to check out all the inspiration from the team. You will find links to their blogs on Tonic Blog as well as links to all the Social media sites.

Thank you for calling in today.
