With Love

Good morning. Welcome to the blog today.

Today's card is one I've made using a new CD from Katy Sue called Shabby Chic.
As soon as I saw it I thought it would be fab with the new Tonic dies and I just loved the daisy images and papers.
There is no reason not to team your dies with your favourite CD images and papers and I think this is one of my favourite cards from this batch that I've made.

Tonic - Delicate Daisies
Bellus Buttercup
Weaving Laurel large floral die set
Shabby Chic CD - Katy Sue Designs
Crystal Drops - Buttermilk

I die cut the daisy layers and then made the centres with three of the tiny daisy flowers. I've also used the tiny buttercup die. I've coloured the flowers with a very old Ranger's Antiquities chalk ink pad in Ocher.

I really hope you are enjoying the cards from this launch. Don't forget to check in with Tonic Gold and the Tonic Blog to see more inspiration from the team.

Take care and have a good day.

Verona Unit aka Treasure Chest

Good morning and welcome to the blog today.

I'm so glad to report that hubby is on the mend and slowly but surely gaining strength again.
We are just taking things a day at a time as you do but thankful that the medication appears to have done it's job and now it's just down to a lot of TLC. :)
My thanks to everyone who was kind enough to ask after him and pass on their good wishes. He's quite tickled with all the attention.

I've managed to get a few spare minutes to take some pics of my pre-Christmas project - a Tonic Studios Verona MDF unit.
I so wanted to make one for my bedroom and I knew the papers I wanted to use. Thankfully I had just enough of them left to complete the project.

Verona Unit from Tonic
Papers - Tilda 'Frosted Bluegreen'
Forever Moments gilding Blush - Old Gold; Mini ring handles; Pure Adhesive Matt
Gathered twigs distress ink
Hearty Clay
Katy Sue Bow Trio mould
Nuvo Gold Paint
Carcase, drawers etc painted with Annie Sloan chalk paint (borrowed from my daughter ;) )

It's home on my dresser.
I decided to call it my treasure chest. I used to have a box that I put all sorts of things into that brought back happy memories so that when I felt a bit down I could go to it and remind myself of what was important in my life.
It's full to the brim so now it's my new unit's turn to be filled with those little things that really are the big things.
The little Peter Rabbit ornament is one of those and is very special to me - it has the added bonus of matching the colour scheme too! :)

I hope to be back soon in full swing hubby's health permitting.

Have a great day!

Forever Moments - 'Verona'

Good morning and welcome to the blog today.
Today's the day for the launch of another of the stunning Forever Moments MDF units from Tonic - 9.00am on Create and Craft.
If you liked the Tivoli unit you are going to love the Verona.
It is a beautiful piece and has a gorgeous layout that you can vary to suit your needs.
I loved the size of the drawers - so useful for so many little treasures.

The drawers without the die cut decoration have been crackled with Forever Moments Crackle base and Vintage Crackle top coat. When they had 'crackled' I rubbed over the surface with gathered twigs distress ink to show up the cracks a little more.
The little bows are made with paper clay and Katy Sue moulds. I have painted them with the gold paint and when dry edged them with gathered twigs distress ink.

For the die cut decoration on the other drawers I have used chipboard painted with the Nuvo Gold paint and triple embossed with clear embossing powder. As a bonus the embossing discoloured slightly here and there and gave me the perfect aged look without any more techniques being needed. I did rub over the surface with some black soot distress ink but it wasn't really necessary.

I'm sure you will agree it is a beautifully decorative piece - I can't wait to make one with some of the new vintage papers also being launched today.

Don't forget to tune in for lots more ideas!

Have a great day.

Friendship

Good morning and welcome to the weekend on the blog

I never did make it out to do the clothes shopping thing as we had a wee surprise visit from my daughter and my darling Edie. That little girl doesn't just smile, her whole face lights up with the biggest grin and that makes me smile big too. She is such a joy. :)

Onto today's card.
I've been playing with my paper clay and a gorgeous mould from Katy Sue Designs.

I've used my Tonic Amelia embossing folder, Tres Belle hand mirror tag, border die from the Thank You sentiments die set and the small Dainty bow set.
The sentiment from Anna Griffin is stamped onto the insert die from the Antique label set.
I've quilted the background card through the tag die and lightly gilded it with my Viva Decor platinum paint.
The mould from Katy Sue is the Oval Cameo and Oval Frame 2
Pearls are from my stash
I've painted the frame with DoCraft Artiste acrylic paint in Periwinkle, the cameo with Blanc.
The pearlescent paper is from a pack I bought ages ago from Crafter's Companion and the blue matched the card stock perfectly.

This was such a fun project to do. The mould works perfectly and the detail is amazing. I did glue each little pearl in place as there is a tiny gap between the frame and the cameo. If you had a steady hand you could use Liquid pearls or the coloured PVA pearl glue from Creative Expressions.
The gorgeous bow was just the right size for the tag and I can see me using them like this again and again.

Thank you for calling in today.
Have a great weekend!
