Frou Frou Serif style

Hi and welcome. A happy Easter to you and yours today, thank you for all your good wishes.

I'm sorry if I seem to have my needle stuck but I've just loved these new images so much that I made another card using the Serif  'Frou Frou' digi CD.

I think this image is so elegant and the papers that are on the digi kit so lush, well it was hard to put it down.

I've used one of the many graphics on the digi kit and enlarged it to fit my 6 x 6" card - she's called 'Love Letters'
All the embellishments are from the CD apart from the ribbon, cluster gem and the chandelier.
I couldn't resist buying the Sizzix/Hero Arts 'Chandeliers' set which goes perfectly with this image. There are plenty of chandeliers on the CD and also on the matching stamp set but I'm a die fanatic and well, you know what it's like -  I've no will power when it comes to dies.

A wee close up to show the details.

I hope you have as much fun as I have had if you have gone for the POW and stamps. I can see me using them time and time again.

If you haven't tried the Serif Craft Artist 2 programme, I can only recommend it. I don't know how many hours I've happily passed playing with it. Who knows, I may even have a go at some digital scrapbooking!! Wonders never cease.

More sneak peeks - it's a Frou Frou week!

Hi and welcome!

I've been showing you some cards I've made with the new Frou Frou collection from Crafter's Companion. I have absolutely loved working with it and I think the images are fab. There are so many to choose from that it is impossible to show more than a few.
I also love the way the CD has been put together. The Couture Collection papers are simply brilliant and I will be using them a lot in the future I'm sure. :)

I've used Embellishments Design 4 for this card
Swirl paper - Couture Collection 4 Paper 3
Die'Sire Tags 1
I've coloured the seam binding to tone with the image
The gorgeous butterflies are from the same sheet as is the sentiment
Brads and gems from stash

A sideways view of the card

My second card is an A4 scored lengthways to give these toppers a chance to shine!

Images from Toppers Design 7
Paper - Couture Collection 10 Paper 1 printed in landscape
Die'Sire Lace border 3
Sentiment from Two of a Kind stamp set
Die'Sire Tags 1
Ribbon from stash

I can't think of two more contrasting colour schemes but I think they give an idea of the breadth of choice on the CD.
I hope you can join the girls on the Crafter's Companion FB page for more sneak peeks or check out the Crafter's Companion blog.

The launch is on Create and Craft, Thursday 28th March and is the POW
Don't miss it!

Thank you for joining me today. Have a good one!

Frou Frou goes digi!

Hello and welcome to the blog today.
I can't tell you how much fun I've been having playing with the new Serif 'Frou Frou' digi kit.
I was quaking in my boots at the thought of having to master a whole new thing but I needn't have worried, it's so intuitive that it wasn't long before I was really lost in the programme and layering, punching, cutting out and all sorts.
Now, having said that, I've a W H O L E lot to learn but it's lovely to produce cards that look multi-layered but are completely flat and so much easier and cheaper to post too.

There are three sections to the CD 'Elegance', 'Princess' and 'Vanity'.

The image on this card is taken from the 'Princess' collection
I've had a go at punching (there are oodles to choose from and you can make your own), layering, recolouring backgrounds and adding shadows. I think I got a bit addicted to shadows. :)

This gives you a wee idea of a punched area with the cut out being used reduced in size on another part of the card.

My second card uses an image from the 'Elegance' collection
I've 'cut' the pinked edges with the scissor tool and used the Cut Out studio to remove the dogs from the main image and use them as an embellishment on the corner of the card. It's a very simple card but I was more interested in the techniques than anything at this stage.

This card  uses an image from the 'Vanity' collection and shows the faux decoupage effect you can get with one click of a button. I've also used one of the borders and recoloured it to match. The leafy swirls are punches that have been digitally punched into the material and the punched part taken away so you are left with the negative.
The layers have been roughened, again with a one click tool and recoloured to match the rest of the project.

If you are looking for a new fun aspect to your crafting, you should really give it a go. There are tools for all sorts of crafty exploits and there is nothing to stop you making a more 3D card if you want to. The decoupage tool is really easy to use and you can print out the pieces if you want the decoupage to be 'real'. There are loads of options on the programme if you want to make party favours, gift boxes and other 3D projects. You will be spoiled for choice.
Just so you know there are tutorials on the Serif site that really help to get you started - thank goodness!

Don't forget that Frou Frou launches on 28th as POW and be prepared to be amazed. The DT girls have rocked this one!

Frou Frou birthday card

Hi and welcome to the blog today.
I've another of the gorgeous Frou Frou stamped images today - probably my favourite of the whole collection. Mind you I say my favourite until I try the next one! :)
This card shows one of the new features on the CD - Punchables! Yes, they are truly easy to print and punch with 1" 1.5" and 2" punches that we all have in our stashes. It makes embellishing very easy indeed.

Papers from the Couture Collection on the CD - Col 9 papers 3, 6
Punchables Design 9
Sentiment from the stamp set
Rose trim from my stash

The image was coloured with Spectrum Noir pens
Skin - TN 1,2  FS 1, CR 3

The collection launches at 9.00pm Thursday 28th as POW.

Frou Frou sneak peeks

Time for another sneak peek. I've chosen 'Two of a Kind' for the majority of my samples and this time I've used one of the images from the Embellishment section as my focal image and made a wee notebook.
It's a personal preference of mine not to have lots of ribbon on the spine of a book as it always looks so messy when I do it. :)
Frou Frou CD - Embellishments Design 7
Pink Paper - Couture Collection 3 Paper 6
Bind It All
Bind It All wires - brown 5/8"

Green paper - Couture Collection 1 Paper 2
Chandelier paper - Couture Collection 7 Paper 6
Toppers - Design 7

The notebook is edged with lace from my stash.

It's a superb collection to work with and I really enjoyed putting the samples together.
There will be sneak peeks for the next few days and if you are a FaceBook fan you can check out all the latest on the Crafter's Companion page or have a look on the blog for a heads up on release dates etc.

Thank you for joining me today. Have a good one!
