Hi, I hope you are having a good week end.
I've another tag today - when are enough tags enough? I'm sure the Tuesday girls will not need a lot of encouragement to get inky and messy!
I treated myself to a couple of new stencils - I'm loving the generic patterns and the size of the Dutch Doobadoo ones and this is one today is called Burlap.
Embellishments from my stash
Jute fibre from the Ribbon Girls
Distress inks - spiced marmalade and broken china; black soot for edging and covering metal charms
Ranger's Archival jet black ink
Hero Arts design block - Silhouette Grasses
Sentiment - Paper Makeup stamp (Quixotic Paperie)
Embossing paste
This was a vain attempt at trying to show the depth of the embossing paste! LOL
I was out shopping yesterday and spent far too much at the craft shop in the Linen Green. I found some fabulous Prima papers by Julie Nutting called 'Buff' and they certainly are that. They will be fab for mens' cards and vintage look ones as well.
I also bought a pack of Dovecraft A4 felt for £2.99. I wasn't expecting too much to be honest but I had a quick go at die cutting it last night. I was very pleasantly surprised, it cut like a dream. Result!! I have spent three times that much on good quality felt to die cut. I hope they expand their colour range, I'll certainly buy more of it.
* CRAFTY TOOL TIP *
I'm not about to list all the goodies I bought but I just have to tell you about the one 'epiphany' moment I had in the kitchen accessories nook in another one of the gorgeous shops in this complex.
I was wondering how I could evenly and accurately spread the embossing paste as up to now I've been using a rather dodgy ruler. I've seen Sweet Poppy's spreader in action on C & C but didn't particularly want to have to send for one - I'm a tad impatient!
Well, my eyes lit on the very thing. It's brilliant with my dexterity problems, I can grip the handle comfortably and the edge is as straight as a die. What is it?
It's a little Oxo mini squeegee. Easy to work with and easy to clean. The blade is exactly 6" long and is perfect for the task.
Major result!!
I'm really delighted with my finds this week end.
Now it's off to play with them. Catch you soon!
