Celebrate Gift Box

Good morning and welcome to the blog today.

I have another sample made for the Tonic Gesture Box launch to share.

This time I've made a gift box to hold four of the gesture boxes that would make a lovely wee gift for a special occasion.

Each Gesture Box is big enough to hold one of those gold wrapped chocolates we all love so much! ;)

Tonic products used -
Delicate Gesture Box
Square Layering dies
Daisy Border punch
Miniature Moments 'Celebrate' sentiment
Bright Gold Nuvo Crystal drops

I've lined the box with gold mulberry paper and nestled the four boxes inside.
One is cut with the design out of the card to give a lacy feel and the other with the design applied to the side of the box.

The little heart tag comes with the Gesture box die set and makes the gift complete.

Thank you for joining me today.

I have been asked to share how I made this box so excuse all the pics.
I used the Crafter's Companion Box board which uses two pieces of card stock the same size. You will need to cut your base piece a tad smaller if you don't have this board. Keep all the other measurements the same i.e. score at 2" on both pieces of card stock.

I have suggested 1/8th" difference but try slightly smaller to being with e.g. 1/16th"
Work with some old card stock to check the fit before you plunge in and use
your best card. :)

Repeat Steps 3 and 4 to cut tabs

Now all you have to do is cut and decorate your Gesture Boxes (don't forget the choccies!) , line the box with tissue and you have a lovely wee gift for someone special.

Thank you for your interest in this project. Now it's your turn! :) x

Gesture Box launch

Good morning and welcome to the blog today.
Tonic are launching their latest 3D die, the Delicate Gesture Box on Create & Craft at 3.00pm today.

It certainly is dainty but has so many applications for all sorts of occasions and it has the bonus of being easy to make.
It comes with lots of elements and it's Verso so you can apply the design to the box or cut it out of the sides.

I am sharing one of my samples today in the form of a platform card and I thought it would be fun to make it for the Bride and Groom.

Tonic products used -
 Just for You Essentials border
Celtic Circle layering dies
Essentials Someone Special for the tiny hearts
Miniature Moments Sentiment - Congratulations
Clarice Alphabet
Vibrant Damask Patterned Panel
Metallic and Satin mirror card

A sideways view of the card

Close up of the his and hers Gesture Boxes.
They would make gorgeous favours for a wedding.

Don't forget to join Jo at 3.00pm today on Create & Craft for lots more inspiration and demos.

Thank you for calling in today.

I have been asked how I made the platform card so I have added a diagram that I hope helps with this.

Take a sheet of A4 card stock and fold in half.
For the front of the card follow the  measurements as given - 2 cm from the top and bottom, 4cms from the sides.  I chose 4 cms to match the die cuts I had done but these can be varied to taste.
Draw in the rectangle shape formed between these marks and cut on the heavy lines, score on the dotted lines.
Remove a small triangle from each side of the fold over as shown in the diagram. This helps to feed it through the slot on the back of the card.  This slot is 2 cms from the bottom and goes between the two 4 cm marks to match the front.
Fold all the score lines and burnish.
Feed the flap through the slot and voila you have your platform.
Do not glue the flap but leave as is so that the card can be folded flat for posting.
I made up the two gesture boxes to set on the platform but you can decorate the base card any way you like.

Can I just say that this is a template I've had for some time. I have no idea where it originated but I'm sure it's been around for a while. If you know the originator I would be happy to give them credit. :)
