Rococo Umbrella die card

Good morning and welcome to the blog today.
Thank you for calling in. I hope you are having a good week end and enjoying the fabulous weather.
We had some rain yesterday and it was just wonderful as it lowered the temperature to a more comfortable level. :)
Today's card features the beautiful Tonic Rococo umbrella die. I loved the samples on C & C that used it in a slightly different way - a butterfly's wings - so I was keen to give that a go. I went for a very soft palette of colours with the cream and peachy/pink just for a change.

Tonic - Rococo Umbrella, Twisted Twine border, Amelia embossing folder and label die from the Butterfly Beautiful set
Alchemy card stock and cream linen from Forget me Not in Belfast
Sentiment - Paper Makeup
Stampendous embossing powder - opaque white
Embellishment from the Hand Crafted Card Company
Ribbon and lace from stash

Close up of the sentiment

I have just to try out the delicate heart die from the Rococo range and that will be at least one cut I've made with each of them. :) I can see myself using them a lot on future cards!

Next week sees the boys off to another fab summer scheme so I might just find some time to craft in there somewhere!  Catch you soon. :)

Yesterday is but a dream

Good morning - hope this finds you well. The sun has got his hat on today so it's a little bit dull and a whole lot cooler - thank goodness! I'm definitely not a sun worshipper though I like to see it bright and cheery, I loathe the feeling of sun on my skin. LOL It must be something to do with being born a winter baby.

Today's card is somewhat whimsical. I love this fairy die from my new Tonic collection and I wanted to try something a little different, hence the see through card.

Tonic - Fae Trellis Topper die; butterfly from the same set; Happy Birthday sentiment from the HB Pansy set; Emily corner die and the Amelia Embossing folder
Spellbinders petite oval dies
Crystal glitter
Gems from the Hobby House
Sheet of acetate
Alchemy card stock in pale blue
Stamped sentiment from Graphicus (now Chocolate Baroque)

I cut the panel out of the embossed card stock and backed it with acetate.
I then cut the fairy die from the blue Alchemy card stock and placed it back into the aperture.
The sentiment was stamped on a cut out from the everyday sentiments sheet and inked with faded jeans distress ink. The matching printed sentiment was glued to another piece of the Alchemy card and placed onto the inside back of the card.
I cut several butterflies and glittered them and the fairy wings with Blue Mono glitter (Art Institute)
I splashed a few more gems onto the card to finish

The sentiment on the front stepper was made using a frame cut from the Spellbinder ovals and then interlinked with the two Emily corner dies
I trimmed down the Happy Birthday die sentiment and glued it to the frame.

Hope you enjoy this one today. Thank you for calling in.

Have a good one!

Two simple die cut cards

Good morning and welcome to the blog.
I made these two a while ago and forgot to post them so I'll remedy that today.

The die I've used is from Oyster Crafts and is called Cheery Lynn's 'Mexican Tile'

Card stock - Alchemy pearlescent in gold, turquoise and black. I bought a lot of this from Joanna Sheen before it was discontinued. I don't know if it's still available.
Sentiments - Craftwork cards
Ribbon - Anna Griffin and Beresford
Pearls and gems from stash
The first card is simply layered; the second is 'quilted'
The Alchemy card does not like the stress of being embossed and cracks so I've had to fill in with black Promarker in all those areas. :)

I've used a couple more layers in the second card and left both just as they are with minimal embellishments.
I think this die says it all. :)

Thank you so much for calling in today. I hope it's a good one for you.
Take care!

This wee pic shows up the quilted effect a bit better.

Just in case you wondered how to achieve this let me explain.
I matted the die cut layer onto a plain piece of black card stock. I carefully replaced the die over the top, matching up all the cut areas and lightly taped it into place.
I then ran both through the Big Shot with the embossing sandwich using a silicone mat and the embossing plate. This has the effect of pushing the black through to the front which gives it a dimensional result. You will know best which sandwich your machine uses to emboss thin dies.

A Kaleidoscope of Butterflies

Hi and welcome to the blog today.
The sun is shining and it's actually very mild here today. It's lovely to see but makes taking pics very difficult indeed. :)

I just wanted to play with my new Tonic Intrica dies and punches, so I went a bit overboard with them for this card.
My thanks to Jodie from Tonic for the diorama card idea. I'd no notion what sizes to use so I sort of made them up as I went along. :)

Tonic Intrica Butterfly Circle doily dies; Layering Butterfly dies; matching Intrica edge punch
Buckram embossed card stock from Papermill
Lilac Alchemy card from my stash

It's a very simple card but I haven't even begun to find the zillions of combinations that this die set is capable of making.

I made a stack of CAS baby cards over the weekend but I couldn't for the life of me get them to photograph properly. I'll try again later. Perhaps if the sun puts his hat on for a wee while, the light will be better for the task in hand. :)

I hope you have a very blessed week. Thank you for calling by today.
