A feast of Fuchsias

Hello and welcome to the blog today. I'm continuing with a couple more samples from the Blooming A-may-zing CD being brought to us by Nigel May via Crafter's Companion.
I don't think you would have to guess which of the choices caught my eye! I loved the fuchsia selection and here are two more wee ideas that you could try.

My easel calendar was made using a Topper from the CD - # 5
The cardstock is Core'dinations from the RoyBGiv collection
The background paper I used came from the Co-ordinating papers section Design 2 Colour 4
The lace is from my stash as is the 2013 calendar.
The little drawer pull is from Tim Holtz's Idealogy line
The drawer section was cut using a Sizzix Pro die - Match Box

A sideways view to show the extra topper and embellie used behind the easel part.

I made this very simple card from the embellishments on sheet 5 from the CD
I loved the colours together and alternated the flowers with the beautiful butterflies also on the sheet.
I scored a couple of lines on either side of the flowers for a bit of interest and used Centura Pearl cardstock for the lovely added sheen it gives.

Check in later for more peeks into some of the lovely new products being brought to us by Crafter's Companion. See you then!

Blooming A-may-zing - take 2!

Do you like vibrant colour? I sure hope so!
Today's cards are more examples from the new Blooming Amazing collection by Nigel May.
They are launching on 14th January live from the CHA at 6.00pm by Crafter's Companion.
I just loved the lily and fuschia flowers on the CD and stamps. If you nip over to the other DT blogs you will have a feast of inspiration and see lots more choices available

I chose the lily decoupage for this card.
The sentiment is from the fuschia stamp set.
Papers are from the CD and I tried to remember to note down the ones I have used -
Design 12 Colour 5 and Co-ordinates Design 2 Colour 4
Crafter's Companion printable decoupage paper
Butterfly from embellishment sheet 5
Ribbon from my stash

A sideways view to show the layers of the decoupage
I've used Collal 3D glue gel as it is so easy to adjust for height and allow for curves etc.

The second card uses one of the toppers from the CD - No. 5

Backing paper Co-ordinates Design 12 Colour 4
Flowers from 'flower' section 5 on the CD
Die'Sire Romantic Swirl die
Sentiment from Card Companion 5
Ribbon and pearls from my stash

A sideways view to see the dimension
The flowers were cut out from the sheet and shaped using a large ball tool to give a more 3D effect.

I just fell in love with those colours but there are just as pretty pink, yellow, blue, red and white selections.

Join me tomorrow for more from this exciting collection.
Thank you for calling in today. I hope you have a good one whatever your plans. :)

Blooming A-maz-ing!

Good morning blogging buddies. It's time to sneak peek a brand new CD and stamp collection from the effervescent Mr May. Over the next few days I'll be peeking samples from the collection and I'm starting today with the beautiful fuschia stamp set.
The range will be launching live on Create and Craft from the CHA at 6.00 pm on 14th January. How cool is that?!! More info will follow closer to the time.

I've used papers from the CD - Co-ordinates Design 8 colour 3 and Design 2 colour 4
The main image and sentiment are from the stamp set.
I coloured ivory seam binding with Spectrum Noir pens to tone in with the colours used in the fuschias.
The sentiment mat was cut using one of the dies from the Die'Sire 'Waltz' frame set
Cardstock is Core'dinations

I've used Spectrum Noir pens to colour the image
DR 5, 6 - PL 2 - LV 2, 3 -DG 3 - CG 1, 2

I think it's a beautiful image and suitable for so many occasions. I hope you will join me for more peeks in the next few days.
The other girls (ahem! ladies) on the DT will also be showcasing this lovely collection so don't forget to pop over and visit - see the sidebar for names, blogs etc.  Check out the Crafter's Companion blog too for more ideas.

More from the A-May-Zing CD

Can you credit that another week is nearly over? I am baffled by how quickly time flies.
Onto today's cards. I've been playing with the Nigel May 'A-May-Zing' CD in readiness for it's big debut on 19th April on Create & Craft. I know I said a bit about it on Wednesday but just in case you didn't see it, it's all about a new range created by Nigel and he is uber excited about it. If you pop over to his blog you can catch up with the man himself as he explains his new venture.
It is aimed at beginners but there is a lot in it that can be taken to a more experienced crafty level as well. I've made a couple today that have a little bit of both. One very simple card and one with a bit more added. Neither are difficult to make and I just loved the colour combos that are available in the twelve design sets.

This card comes from the 3D topper section of the CD. I love the gentle aqua colours in this one and the soft pinks and yellows that bring it to life. The background papers are from the CD and complement one another beautifully.
This view gives an idea of the dimension of the card. I've matted the topper onto a 5x5" doily to add a little softness and feminine appeal. The aqua ribbon is from my stash as are the pearls top and bottom of the card.
A sideways view. It's a lovely generic image that would be suitable for so many occasions.

My second card is the most simple one but I think it still has a lovely appeal.

This is from the shaped card section and the design is printed onto 300gsm white card A4 size, cut out, scored and folded. The topper is from the shaped topper section printed onto light printable card (Crafter's Companion) and is matted and 3D'd onto the base card. I've only added some white organza ribbon and some pink and clear gems (Beatrix Potter embellishment kit, also Crafter's Companion)
I printed the topper at mid-size which gave me a dainty label that I cut out and attached under the ribbon bow. Again this is a lovely generic design suitable for all those occasions that we need quick cards for.
There's not too long to wait now for the launch on the 19th and the girls have been really busy producing beautiful samples for the show. They are showcasing the cards as they go along so have a wee look on their blogs. (Crafter's Companion design team - on the sidebar).

Well it's A-May-Zing!!

What is? It's the new CD by our very own Nigel May of Create & Craft fame no less. He has created a range of crafty goodies and I've been fortunate enough to be able to share in the preparation for the launch of his first CD. It's launching on Create & Craft on the 19th April at 9.00pm, so not long to go.
I'll let Nigel tell you all about it HERE - just scroll down to A-May-Zing and get the jen from the man himself.

This card is made from the decoupage section of the CD. Just look at the gorgeous backing paper. The CD is crammed full of delicious papers. It's aimed at beginners but can be taken to many other levels as it suits the crafter. All I've added is some ribbon, an Epiphany button, pearls and glitter.
There's a lovely depth to the decoupage and it's so simple that even a beginner would feel totally confident about trying it. I matted the decoupage onto a Go Kreate #2 XXL Frilly frame die cut.
A sideways view to show the depth of the decoupage. There are also extra butterflies on the sheet and I've 3D'd them onto the image and used an extra one to fly off the page! :)
It's a really all round CD with something for every occasion. The colours are beautiful and there's a lot of fun to be had in creating with it.

Thank you for calling in today. I'll catch you tomorrow with a new Colour Create challenge.
Have a great day!
