Mitring Corners Tutorial

Hello and welcome to the blog today.

I have a short tutorial on my You Tube channel to help with mitering those corners on your album covers etc.

I tried to find a mitering tool  but could only come across them in the US. Though they weren't too expensive the postage etc just made them ridiculous so I had a wee think and came up with this solution that works for me.

I'm sure it's nothing new but it's new to me so I hope it helps if you struggle to get those corners just right.

I have a beautiful corner die to share with you today.

I've used just the decorative die from the set but don't forget you also get a backing die that gives you even more variety when you are planning your cards.

 Good afternoon and welcome to the blog today. I have another of the beautiful corner dies released by Tonic Studios this week on Hochanda to share today.

I went for a bit of drama with the colour scheme on this card and I wanted to corners to really stand out so I inlaid the ivory into the cherry red and backed it with black to give the strong contrast I was after. 

Anastasia was die cut in ivory and paper pieced with red and black to stay with the theme. 

The card was finished with a double bow and a dazzler made from hot glue and sprinkled with charcoal glitter.

I've made a wedding card and kept the colours very traditional and generic.

Good morning. Welcome to a new week on the blog.

Today I'm sharing a card made for the latest Tonic launch on Hochanda.

The show starts at 11.00 am and features the beautiful and versatile new range of corner dies.

Today I am using the Exquisite Nook corner die set.

This comes with an outline die that you can use as a separate element to back the ornate and decorative corner.

I used the whole corner on the top of the card and a part of it to add interest to the sentiment and extend the design to the bottom of the card.

The finished card is 7 x 7 3/4"

The decorative die cuts out of the card so I used it to cut through both black and white layers and inset one I had cut in black into the aperture.

I backed this panel with the sumptuous Golden Satin card stock.

The sentiments and additional decorative corner were shadowed with gold.

Here is the whole collection with three large corners and two smaller ones.
