Crocheting a Cowl

Hello and welcome to the blog today.

I haven't been posting much of late as paper crafting has definitely taken a back seat to my new found addiction of crocheting.
However, after only three months of beavering away, I have been brought to a standstill with severe pain in my arms and wrists.

I'm working through it bit by bit and doing exercises, resting frequently and making friends with my ice packs when needed.

I have managed to sort out a way to work that doesn't aggravate my arms etc too much and am making progress with this cowl, albeit slowly.

The pattern is by Emma Leith and I found it in Simply Crochet Issue 111 p.78. It is a simple one row repeat.
I'm using King Cole Riot DK yarn in Foliage as I thought it would be perfect for autumn days.

I know ladies who have been crocheting for years without mischief but trust me to hit a bump!

I'm hopeful that it will settle and I can get back to my hobby as per normal. Mean time I've ordered a wrist support and a strange and wonderful bulb shaped hook holder to ease my grip on the hook.
We'll see how it goes and I'll keep you posted.

Onwards and upwards as they say. There's always a silver lining!!

Take care and I hope to catch you soon with the next thrilling instalment.

😄
